This is a very small but comfortable and pretty salon near the liquor store - enter from the parking lot. The ladies are friendly and incredibly knowledgeable! So knowledgeable that they teach classes. They properly clean tools or provide new (i.e. file) which they give you if you want. They have whatever products you want, I'm sure. Colors, stickers, gems, bedazzles and blings galore! If they don't have the perfect color, they will mix it for you. These ladies are artists - they will create your vision. Beautifully! If there were half stars in Yelp rating, I would make this 4.5. My only ding is that the shop hours don't easily match my hours. Which I completely understand - this is a small "artisan" experience. I come here because cleanliness is their biggest priority at this nail studio not like other nail shops that use the same nail file on everyone and it's super crowded and dirty! That's why this studio works by appointments only so that their clients aren't all crowded. Claudia and Michelle are really good at their craft! They have tons of years of experience! I usually go to my girl Claudia! She's a perfectionist, which I love because she doesn't allow me to leave her studio without having the most perfect nails! I always get compliments everywhere I go! Literally just landed in LAX and BOOKED it straight to Claudia's. I'm from the east coast and where I live there aren't a lot of nail artists, and the ones who do offer fun art will charge the most INSANE prices. I've been following Claudia's work on Instagram for awhile now and I knew that this was the first place I wanted to go when I got to LA. I was about 20 minutes late (cri) but Claudia was so sweet to me and was able to fit me into her busy schedule. The salon is kinda tucked away and you have to go all the way around the back to get to it. Upon entering, Claudia's son greeted me warmly, offered me drinks, and showed me their extensive color selection. When it was time to start I literally had no solid idea of what I wanted. She was super patient with me though and helped me pick out this gorgeous icy, holographic, super blingy, and sparkly design. I told her I wanted to be EXTRA AF and boi she did not disappoint! Throughout the whole process she was very careful and constantly checked up on me to make sure nothing was hurting. We had such a fun time talking and it was just an amazing experience! Watching a nail tech do form acrylics is super cool and I've never seen it done in person! She really did each step with care and honestly created a piece of ART. I'm so happy with how it turned out! They're even more beautiful than the reference picture that I showed her! Overall, I highly recommend coming to Claudia because she really cares about you and does her best to give you exactly what you want! Probably come more prepared than me and know what you want lol. This is the first place I've been to where I was given an option of a stain resistant coat! Jasmine hooked it up and I finally got the light nails I always wanted. Not a very good first impression. So I called on Tue to make an appt and was able to make an appt for Friday at 2pm. Received a text on Thursday to confirm my appointment. Then on Friday, I get to my appointment and the doors are locked, the shop is closed, no one is picking up the phone, phone goes straight to voicemail, voicemail is full, and when I go back to the link where I had confirmed my appointment the day before it now shows "this appointment has been deleted". Wtf? Look, I don't usually post negative reviews, especially without hearing the other side's story. However, this is not how you treat customers. I understand that emergencies come up, but at least send a text or shoot your customer a phone call to let them know you won't be able to make the appointment or you are cancelling their appointment! Don't just delete their appointment via an app, close your doors, don't pick up the phone, and let them figure it out when they get there! That's just plain rude. Apparently this was an all day situation because another customer had also left a not so friendly note on their door stating they also came by for their appointment earlier in the day and was met with the same greeting as me. Again, if the staff/owner had an emergency, I hope everything is ok. But please be more considerate of your customers next time. read more

Short version: they have acrylic color powder!!! I love this because my nail color ALWAYS chips or fades or de colors since I work a lot with my hands. Girls are lovely and take their time to make sure it's perfect Long version: I went to a salon close to my house that did a HORRIBLE job.... I can't stress that enough. Contacted Claudia through yelp and she got back to me quickly with setting up my appointment. Very helpful and loved that they use modern technology to gain and keep customers. In my eyes, very helpful for people who are busy! I got placed with Michelle the nail tech and for once it was nice to have a conversation with someone who understood what I wanted and doubled checked when necessary. Taking off my old nails I got from the previous salon took some time and the material they used was terrible. So I'm happy Michelle took the extra time to ensure she was doing what was best. I choose to try the nude ombrè which I was hesitant about but hey, I tried it anyways. And turns out I love it. Almost looks like mocha. What was great during my visit is that Claudia was training two nail techs that were getting specific training and was cool to see and hear how acrylics were applied. A lot more difficult than we my think. All in all the experience was great. Shop is small but I would much rather that then a bigger salon and busier when they rush you in and out and don't take time with listening to customers. Once I'm back in town and. I think it's a hidden gem. It's in the back of the main retail/Main Street. I requested an appointment and heard back really fast and was able to get a same day appointment. The place is small, but all the ladies are really friendly, and they actually talk to you and not to each other. Although it was my first time they still shared their pictures with me and past events and stories they had, unlike other salons where they speak a foreign language do their job and you're done. They also offered me a drink when I came in. I had colors in mind that I wanted but when I told Michelle (I think that's my girls name) that I was looking for a fall color she said they had two new colors that weren't on the color wheel and she showed me. So I chose a chocolate brown color. We got right to business and I was done in about 35minutes. After the gel was applied there was a sugar hand scrub as well as a hot towel and lotion/massage.. Aaaww!! I knew you would respond because you TROLL all your negative reviews. BUT all you did is Justify your subpar customer service! You didn't deny anything I wrote. GIRL BYE!!! ----, The owner, Claudia pissed me off so much, I removed gel & acrylic from my nails. I did not find nail salon via Yelp. I met a young lady whose nails looked gorgeous. She told me where the nail salon was and who to ask for; Jazmine. When I arrived, I asked for Jazmine but Claudia took the service. I had a fill w/gel and nail art. I paid $65 for those services. I also had a gel pedi (Jazmine did it). That service was $45. Including the tips, I paid $120. Afterwards, I thought Claudia would be my technician. Kinda like one's hairstylist. BUT NO. If you ain't doing extravagant nail art ($$) Claudia boots you to whomever is available. I don't care much for nail art. I think it's outdated and gaudy. Claudia, marginalized Jazmine's work. Once during a service, she actually said outloud that she didn't want customers serviced by Jazmine (unless she was present) because she didn't trust her skills. Who does that to their employees? You teach. Mentor. Support. In addition to being a nail technician, Claudia is a multi-level marketing agent. She sells a weight loss program. She solicited me to sell And I witnessed her selling the multi-level marking dream to another customer. I'm not overweight. I have no chronic diseases. I'm extremely active and strong. I told her, I'm not into multi-level marketing. Especially if the Agent is not representing the Results!!! Once I had to wait 15 minutes while she woofed down nuggets & fries. My cousin was with me and was mortified. Anyways, she went on to explain how much money she earns for selling the program. She said she simply started a FB account and let other's results move her units. Every purchase made by a newbie, Claudia gets paid. In fact, her volume was so high she won a trip for two to Costa Rica. Beware!! She'll solicit you. Claudia shifted me to Michelle orJazmine. My nails chipped within 2 days. I returned on my off day to repair and was charged $20 to repair. That's if they'd service me at all. No appointment. No service. Even if there is a technician available. Many walk-ins were turned away while I was there. If your nail chips or breaks before your next appointment, you'll be CHARGED!! Even if it's 3 days later. Claudia does not keep her posted business hours Period!! The only appointment I could squeeze was saturday at 2p to repair or change something. I was never able to obtain an appointment to fit my schedule. If you're open til 7:00p on Wednesday why can't a sista get a 5:00p appointment? Saturday they post open until 5:00p but really the last call is 2:00p. Most working women spend Saturday or even perhaps Sunday glamorizing. DO NOT Look to this place for weekend service. You'll be assed out. Limited service hours Saturday! Closed Sunday and Monday!!! I witnessed Claudia distributing Payroll. How embarrassing!! She literally counted the lady's service tickets then dustributed each cash - all while custmers were present. Ugh!! Simply Unprofessional!! I thought it quaint to find a SALON operated by a Latina or African American? Unfortunately, Claudia comports herself just as her Vietnamese or Korean competitors. It is so annoying to sit thru spanish/spanglish conversations while having your nails serviced. I cannot stand it. This is America!! Speak the language!! I just happen to speak and understand so, I ear hustled. Claudia jabbers with Michelle about food, parties & senseless crap or her multi-level marketing scheme. Jazmine, I'd wager is not bilingual. So that has to be terribly isolating and disrespectful!! It got on my LAST NERVE!! Just like when the Vietnamese speak their language while servicing you. Who or what are you talking about? Alex is Claudia's son. He's is a sweet kid. A transgendered young man. He's the receptionist, appointment maker and swipes your money card on the way out. He also does nail work despite being unlicensed. He needs phone etiquette training. And although I'm well educated regarding pronouns and sensitivities with respect to transgenders, it's quite awkward and uncomfortable when one has long shoulder length hair, a full beard and long casket nails. Appearance in the work place should matter. IJS. Dress and groom yourself accordingly. Before you book, you should know your average cost for a full gel set, and gel pedi is $140, including a tip & the $20 booking fee. AND It's impossible to get a walk-in appointment. This dive is Not a 5 star locale. The salon is in an old school alley strip mall next to a Vape spot. One small bathroom which always has urine and toilet paper in the bowl to be flushed. My advice keep looking. For that kind of money there are salons near you that are luxurious. Patronizing this salon is like purchasing True Religion Jeans for $283 at a swap meet. read more

After 3 visits I learned lack of customer service was consistent. Unfortunatley my expectations were not met as I discovered about this location since Unique nails is part of my community. As an unsatisfied neighbor & customer I am disapointed to leave 2 stars. On my first visit I brought with me a friend. the owner Claudia asked me if I can remove my own nail polish and cut my own nails, same with my friend. This is irritating for any customer whos paying for this service. The second service was marginal, which aided in my return, however by this time I was convinced I would not be returning after they had Alex who does not do nails repaint my nails then had to stop ask questions on procedures and steps. I wish my service was like the 4-5 star reviews that are left. Best place I've been to in SoCal and I've tried a few? Just look at my reviews. My mom and I have been coming here for I believe 4 months every two weeks. Do make an appointment as they are always booked and busy!!! Of course they are they do a fantastic job. My own nails are finally growing and getting stronger. Everyone who works there knows and cares about about your nail care. My nails were a wreck when I first came in and wouldn't grow at all, let alone stay long. They do require/recommend a $20 deposit for your next visit when you leave and want to make another appointment. So, I don't mind having it there, it secures that I will have the time set and booked for when is best for me. The service is great, you are greeted and feel right at home. Also got a reminder text the next day. The young lady who did my pedicure gave me the most thorough pumice stone exfoliation I have ever received: the kind that we always want to have but never get. Major props to her for that. Cons: Cuticle removal was painstakingly slow and incomplete: it felt like I was a practice customer in a Cosmetology department at some school. I love spa chairs and hot water that effervesces and feeling pampered - this is not the place for that. Even though it was decorated cutely, it was majorly lacking in the relaxation department, and the prices did not reflect that. My nails don't look bad, but they don't look freshly done either. These appear to be young women, just starting out, and they were friendly and seemed to be attentive to their customers. It just is not the place for me. read more

I would like to say that the shop is very cute and that I love the fact that they have very clean instruments to perform the pedicure. It took a total of 1.5 hours for a regular pedicure. Unfortunately I think the girls doing the pedicures need practice. Extremely slow, not because they are really cleaning out your feet but slow in general. My nail polish feels bumpy and rough. Anyone who has been getting pedicures knows that's a bad sign. The staff was friendly. I think their nail art for tips is amazing. However, for people like me who don't use fake nails their $25 dollar pedi didn't cut it for me. I already need to get this pedicure fixed and it's only 2 hours old. I feel like I just wasted my time and money. In addition their pedicure seats don't have anything spa like. It's a chair and they put a bucket of water for your feet. read more
