I needed to get a french manicure done for an upcoming pageant, so I searched Yelp for a highly rated place near my home and I found Unique Nails. My cousin and I had french manicures done today. Sandy did my cousin's manicure, and her husband did my manicure. Both of them were very friendly, talkative, and knowledgeable. The husband did a great job with my nails! The color is even, each coat of nail color is smooth, and the nail shape is exactly what I wanted. He even asks what shape you want your nail to be with filing and asks if there is any pain when using the orange stick to clean under the nails or when buffing the nails. He is very careful and does great work. I can't comment much about the wait, since my cousin and I came at just the right time when there was no wait. During the manicure session, there were many calls that came in from customers asking if there is currently any wait at the shop..so I guess it's a wise decision to call ahead just in case! The place is a "hole in the wall" and can be difficult to find (depending on which direction you take to get to the place). I couldn't find the shop at first and accidentally turned into the small plaza where Jasmine Nail shop was. Oops. Luckily, Unique Nails was in the plaza next door. I'll definitely be back for more manicure sessions! read more

Sandy and her husband are very sweet and accommodating. The salon has several stations but because there are only 2 workers, not many of them are used. They do not have a spa pedicure chair but Sandy still does an amazing job! I have gone here a few times after being recommended by a friend, and I loved it! read more

New to the area and after trying a few nail places, this one is by far my favorite. The husband and wife who run it are always so kind and welcoming. They're extremely attentive to detail especially with nail shape, which I'm very picky about. No one has ever been able to perfect the exact shape I like until I came here. Since moving to Hacienda Heights a few years back, I've been trying the local nail salons to see which one is best. I think I found it. This salon is not fancy but the prices are VERY good compared to others. I usually get gel nails and my past experiences with other places is they fall off within a couple of weeks, some even just one! I've done my gel nails twice before here and each time they have lasted a month plus. Today was my 3rd time. Sandy and Joe are very friendly and they do a very good job. I'm usually unsure which color I really want and they are patient to give me suggestions and also try the colors on my nails for me to see. I appreciate that! read more

I can't believe no one has review this place yet. I have been getting my nails done here since I was in high school. It's totally a "hole in the wall", very ghetto, not fancy at all, but they do good work for a very decent price! It's a husband and wife that own's this place. The wife's name is Sandy hences the name of this place. I always have my nails done by the husband. He does really good work. He really takes his time to make sure it is the way you like it. Also for some weird reason when he does my nails, the nail polish doesn't fall off as fast. A French manicure by him can last as long as 3 1/2 weeks. I have gotten French manicure elsewhere and at most it only last 2 weeks. He's attention to detail is what sets him apart from the rest. As for Sandy, she does all the pedicures and she does an amazing job on unique and difficult designs. She can do just about any designs you give her. This place has really loyal customers that have been coming here for years and years. So... the only bad part is sometimes the wait can be really really long. If you go right before a holiday don't be surprised if you are waiting 2 or more hours. I have learned to go early in the morning or to call ahead to find out how many people are waiting. Since it's only Sandy and her husband it can take really long. The up side to the long wait - My French manicure is only $11 and my French pedicure is only $15. So all in all $25 for both, that's how much it cost just for nails at some other places. But like I said don't expect anything fancy. If you are looking for massaging chairs or neck rubs, go somewhere else. They only do nails, but they do it well. read more

Maybe they should just close the shop during the entire lunar new year celebration - I planned my day around coming here for a pedicure because Sandy came highly recommended by someone I trust - but the shop is open and there's no Sandy to do the work. Not sure why they even bothered opening their doors for business when the a major part of their business offerings isn't even available. And when I asked the nice gentleman running the shop if he had any idea what time "the professional" as he put it - might show up to work - I was told "I don't know, maybe tomorrow." I'm trying to be understanding of cultural differences, but I feel it's unacceptable for a business to open its doors to customers when the primary staff isn't even available to work and there is a possibility that full services won't be available until who knows when. I'll be back at some point because of the reputation but for now this place gets one star for the reputation and one star for the fact that the gentleman there was fairly courteous despite not having any useful answers for me. read more

First time here and I am very satisfied. Came here around 10am, so waited only 5 mins. I got both mani and pedi.... pricing was AMAZING!! Such a deal! Mani+Pedi is the same price as a Mani in other salons. quality is just as great. Joe was very gentle on my hands. NO CUTS. The only cons is that he didn't push my cuticles back, no biggie. Sandy gave me a pedi. And my feet was so dry recently (that the heels began to crack) but Sandy did such a great job. I'm so happy that my feet are soft once again. I have no gotten my nails done here but for the last 3 days I have been calling to make an appointment and every time she says " call back tomorrow" we'll I have been and today was the 3rd day she says " we are booked all day" I find it hard to believe they have been booked for 3 days when she tells me to call "tomorrow" when I call right when they open. This place is small, but definitely one of the best nail places I've ever been to. The husband is thorough and helpful, making sure that you love the color you choose. My nails look fantastic and it's probably the least I've ever spent on a gel manicure- only $15!! Go here early or at an off hour to avoid a wait, but it is still worth the wait anyways! read more

This place is amazing I've been going here for almost a year now and no one does my nails better than Joe, they only charge $18 for regular full set and he does such a good job and takes his time. Sometimes they can be a little slow because it's only 2 people working but definitely worth the wait!! read more

This was my first time at this nail shop and I am absolutely happy and satisfied on how my nails came out. I am very picky when it comes to my nails and the ladies did such a great job. After calling my usual manicurist and being told there was an hr wait I decided to come to this lil gem and I was so happy with my decision. She filed my nails under and shaped them exactly the way I wanted them. Not to mention they were inexpensive and reasonable I will definitely be returning to this nail shop. I would highly recommend this shop to all my friends!! read more

I discovered them last year and loved them. Because of my work I can't come often since I rather rest. Today I really wanted a pedicure before I had to go to work. I came in and it was only the wife there and not the husband, which I thought was odd. It is Saturday and it is busy, both should be there. I came in and there was a lady finishing up her pedi and two other waiting. I decided to take a chance and wait, in hopes that her husband would walk in. Finally it was one lady before me, and another walked in after me. She is a regular and chatting it up with Sandy. Her husband does walk in and asks who is next, the other lady and I respond that it is my turn. I told him that I only wanted a pedicure since that's all I had time for at this point since I have to go to work soon. He looks around for the tubs that they do the Pedicures in and can't find them. Instead of getting it ready and looking for it he tells me I am going to have to wait. Or something along those lines since he has a mask on and I cant hear him clearly. He then makes me sits down again, and asks me again if I am not getting my nails done. I respond that I am not. So he asks the lady who came after me like 5 minutes ago if she was getting a fill and she responded yes. So he took her!!!!!!!!!!! I had been waiting patiently for 45 minutes and he took her because I only wanted a Pedi and he wanted to work on flipping nails not feet. I left so heated, I didn't tell him anything I just left. He saw me get into my car pissed an everything and he acted like whatevers. They lost my business by doing that, Funny, last place I went to did the same to me, took another walk in that came after me and I never came back. I wont be coming back here again either! read more

I lived in hacienda heights all my life and I never came here because it is hidden but a hidden gem. Sandy and her husband are very nice and have lots of patience. They have very loyal customers. Call ahead and ask if they are busy. Worth the wait. And they will give you advice as well. read more

Some would say I'm biased because I've been coming here since high school. I say, there's a reason for that! Sandy is A-MAY-ZING!!! And AFFORDABLE! Just got a pedicure today.. $17! The best thing about Sandy is, if you don't like ur mani or pedi, you can tell her and she won't get offended or frustrated. She'll just fix it and make it the way you want it. I actually check while she's working and I'll ask her to do lil things like, file the left side a lil more or sharpen the corner or something odd like that. There's usually a lil wait because its just her and her husband but they work fast and they provide quality service. Example of wait time: Sandy was working on someone, and so was Joe. There was also 1 girl waiting before me. I still was completely done in less than an hour and that includes my wait time. I won't go anywhere else read more

Sandy did my pedi, the husband did my mani. It was quite dirty... nail dust on the mani table and no towel under my hands, clipped nail bits all over. It was pretty gross, and I didn't see an autoclave or sanitizer. He wasn't careful when buffing my nails, it kept burning and I pulled my hand away several times. I went back to do them again without an appoint them sis they couldn't see me because they had two other people waiting and it's only her and her husband. So I left. I called to make an appointment and she tell me they don't make appointments!! What kind of nails place doesn't make appointments. She was like just come and we can maybe see you. In my opinion, the out the door price at $60.00 was not worth the service provided. I could perhaps justify the bells and whistles if the basic service was fantastic, but it was not. The staff was friendly and nice. I just left feeling like my feet weren't really taken care of. To my surprise, the regular polish I had asked for peeled off within 24 hours.

Also for me they put something on my feet and it burned. One of my toes was left with a burn mark. The nail tech also didn't really understand English so it took her awhile to take off the product so I had to dip my foot inside so I wouldn't burn the rest of my toes.

TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE! Just had the most disgusting experience I have ever had with anyone. My Best friend and I walked into this ugly hole in the wall because the prices advertised seemed appealing. First of all, the place seemed completely unsanitary, dusty and straight out dirty. The nail polish choices were pitiful, there were maybe 10 nail polishes to choose from and they were basically all in the beige family. Second of all, from the moment we walked in, the man and woman working there never once looked up to acknowledge us with a greeting or to ask us to start picking a nail color. They had no desire to seem friendly whatsoever. Third of all, after about 10 minutes we decided to ask if their special was still going on and if we could get a mani/pedi. The woman came up to us and ROLLED HER EYES, and asked us in a rude voice: WHAT DO YOU WANT! She literally raised her voice and had a nasty tone as if she was bothered that we were there forcing HER to work. I signaled to my Best Friend for us to leave immediately. We had no desire to invest any money on disgusting, imbeciles who have no clue what it is to run a business. TRUST ME, if they were kind and respectful they would certainly be raking in the bucks. But from the looks of it, I guess they will continue acting and working like the cockroaches that they are. The place certainly looks like a cockroach haven. I loveeeeeee Sandy her and he husband.. not gonna lie when I first went to this shop I was skeptical because of the area. BUT it's the best nail salon I've been to, their prices are good and their work is even better. I've gone to nail salons and paid over 100 bucks to have my a nail break off in a week. Since I've gone to Sandy I haven't broken any nails. They take their time and make sure it's perfect, I will be a long loyal customer. I've referred my sister and now she fell in love . This nail salon is extremely dirty and in disrepair. Jack was very careless with my manicure and left my cuticles jagged. At one point, I asked him how long he's been doing nails. He replied for 10 years. I asked if he liked it, and he replied not really. Denis didn't clean all the particles from my nails after filing, so there are white specks in my gel manicure, which is also very haphazard and sloppy around the edges. The way the color was applied looks very clunky and careless. A couple of my nails were stuck to my skin, so I had to pry them apart after. Also, the UV machine for gel manicure is falling apart. It burnt my knuckles and part of my hand. I don't know the pedicure tech's name, but she doesn't clean her tools, actually I don't think any of them do, and she knicked one of my toes with her machine. She gives a great massage, but the level of care isn't really there. They charged me $80 for gel mani/pedi + $1 credit service fee. I tipped all of them because I won't be going back. I don't like to make scenes for people unless it is truly necessary, so please take this review as honest and caring. If they don't want to take care of their salon, which they can for the prices they are charging, then it's best to go somewhere else.
