Definitely a cute boba joint! I got the Artichoke tea drink & it was delicious. I didn't get to take a picture because my sister in law and I had to run errands so we were in a bit of a hurry! The tea wasn't too sweet & it was refreshing! I didn't get any crystal boba in mines (which it comes with that as a topping along with grass jelly & chia seeds) the grass jelly was delicious & I loved that it was cut into small pieces & it wasn't too thick! I haven't tried their wings, but I will be coming back to try them! I only gave them 4 stars because of the location. Made our first visit to Unitea, as we're trying out local small eateries and boba shops. Let me separate the likes and 'room for improvement' categories. Once I see positive changes made, I will gladly revise my rankings, as I do this will all businesses I review. I don't believe in 'slamming' businesses especially mom/pop shops - my feedback is meant to encourage improvement. Likes: - Friendly owner (I assume she was the owner) and staff. - Nice atmosphere roomy, not cramped like some shops - Free WiFi, good place to get work done, too. - Many outlets, a big plus for us who work online - Vietnamese style hot coffee was very good! - Boba drink was good, too. "Room for Improvement:" - Minus 3 stars for sustainability. Yeah, the ubiquitous plastic straws are almost unavoidable, and there seems to be a popular backlash against paper straws. Hot drinks should be served in ceramic mugs and cold drinks in glass or reusable cups. See those pics of boba drinks in tall glasses? Why not just do that? Absolutely no reason to use disposable Dixie coffee cups that are not compostable or recyclable (see Dixie's website). The cups are a combo of paper and some styrofoam material for insulation, and the lids are not marked as recyclable, so they are trash after a single use. As a business you have choices, and thnk about all the boba shops and how much disposable waste goes into our landfills. This is a very negative cafe trend, using disposable (yeah you can claim the plastic cups are technically recyclable, but in all liklihood they don't make it to the recycling centers as they need to be not only collected, but cleaned and straws cannot be recycled no matter what some may say, they are too small to be sorted at recycling facilities. As a consumer and lovers of boba and coffee, we bring our own thermoses for hot drinks and glass jars for boba (with our own stainless boba straw) whenever we dine out. I didn't think I needed to bring a thermos, thinking surely a hot coffee would be in a mug, or very least a regular paper cup. Sigh I was very wrong! I like this shop and will only return with my thermos for coffee and jars for boba, but hope the shop will make some meaningful changes with regards to sustainable choices. I notice that Asian shops and groceries are some of the worst at food package waste, and I feel we have the means to be leaders in this respect. read more

My favorite place in arlington for boba. They also offer alternative milk choices ** (dairy allergy friendly) ** Their rice paper salad was great and unlike what I've seen for a boba place. They're gyoza is really good too! They once forgot that I ordered gyoza and when I reminded them they apologized profusely and made me double the amount!! Hooray! Finally ventured out to get boba since I moved here. I'm so glad I did. My friend and I really enjoyed our experience at Unitea because not only was the place fresh, light, clean, and airy, it had games! The girl who served us was polite and answered my questions about menu items. Oh yeah, our drinks were so refreshing and light! The only reason I detracted a star was because of some confusion with the menu. Some items are marked as "Dairy cannot be substituted," or "Dairy can be substituted," and some are not marked. Unfortunately, many of the items that have no mark, are only able to be made with dairy milk, which sadly, I cannot enjoy. On the plus side, I was able to try something new (green Thai tea!) and the boba was fresh, gummy, chewy, and tasted like honey! YUM! Definitely will be back, but after I try a few other places around town first - on the hunt for the best boba now! read more

Yelpers recommend the Panchango so I got it and it tasted great. I love the mixture of fruit, leechy, and bubba in it. It is definite the go to drink if you are here for the first time. The girl that made my drink was on point with the sweetness. I just hate overly sweetened drink but this one was on point. The place itself looks welcoming and is definitely a good spot to hang out. The only issue here for me are the hours. They close at 9:00 pm daily. I mean how am I going to get my bubble tea after throwing down some leftover Chinese food on those late Friday nights. Stopped by in the morning, as this was the only boba place open around 10:30am. Got the taro milk tea with tapioca boba pearls. I love taro flavored items and this was right on target with taste. The boba was pretty disappointing though. Most places will coat the boba pearls in sugar or honey so it would taste sweet. However, Unitea did not do either so the boba tasted pretty flavorless and somewhat had a bad aftertaste. It was almost like chewing on rubber at that point. Doubt I'll ever be back read more

I've been waiting for this place to open! The atmosphere was very clean, quiet and seems like a great place to study/talk with friends. There were also little games for people to play like Jenga and mancala. I got the Red Mango fruit smoothie with mango jelly and boba...OMG I was blown away with how freakin' good it was!
