Maybe he had gotten stuck a couple times prior to your call - I would be hesitant as well and not want to risk losing a days work due to an avoidable circumstance. Losing one customer is better than losing the rest he is scheduled for in an entire day. That was his judgment call to make and not yours. Sometimes the risk isn't worth taking and it certainly isn't something to be belligerent about, just because you waited too long to pump your septic.
