Lately, United has been my black list for multiple reasons: -the only airlines that have ever lost my luggage was United -my sister when visiting was supposed to arrive at noon, instead her flight got delayed for an hour, and then, another two hours, and then, they ended up leaving about 1.5 hours instead of 3 hours. -even worse, her flight out on Christmas day was CANCELLED and no one bothered calling us or letting us know. When our flight was severely delayed back in November, AA called us to let us know that it was delayed and to let us know that we could switch airlines so we could still make our destination on time -Picking up another friend from United three days ago - their flight was delayed and delayed and that was another headache in itself. -Didn't you see the news lately with the Chicago tribune article about how United overbooked their pilots and cancelled all these flights around the Christmas holiday? Two stars? Well, their international flights, alcohol is free so they get an extra star for that. read more

There have definitely been some days I want to rate United just one star and other days I'm overjoyed to rate them five stars. However, as a whole, I've been pretty pleased with United. The Good: Customer service both in person and on the phone has been pretty impressive. If you're polite, they're polite. When the occasional storm or mechanical issue occurs, the agents do a nice job rebooking. Their app is nicely done and their user interface online is solid. The planes themselves have always been clean and nicely stocked with entertainment options, when applicable. I've also received more than my fair share of flight credit from volunteering to take a later flight. Score! The Bad: Mileage Plus has become a joke. In years' past it was simple to book a flight with 12,500-25,000 miles. Now, I can't book flight from CLT to ORD for less than 30,000 on even mildly acceptable days/times. Any voucher credit that you do earn from volunteering can only be redeemed at a United ticket counter at the airport - the antithesis of inconvenient. Additionally, United ticket prices (as of late) have been much more expensive than US Air and even American. Overall, I like United and I'm sure I'll fly with them again - especially for the longer trips ahead. read more

To date, I have flown United consistently...with 1K Status for a few years now. If you would have asked me 2 years ago, I would have rated them a 1...and can honestly say that recently, they have redeemed themselves. Although you still receive attitude at times (status or not), I am commending them for one main REALLY good experience that has made me feel otherwise : I used my miles for 2 roundtrip tickets for my parents to Hong Kong earlier this year. When I initially booked the ticket, I did not realize that my mom's last name was different than the one I booked the tickets with. When I called United to add the extra 3 letters, the rep told me that I had to pay $150 to add the letters, or it was free for one letter. When I refused, they told me to go to Chicago O'Hare to make the change. So...I fought Chicago rush hour to get to the airport where, within 15 minutes, made the change for free...So it all started on a bitter note. However, on their trip back from Hong Kong (sidenote, my parents do NOT speak English), their flight back from Denver to Miami departed without them due to a delay from SF To Denver. Because now they had to stay overnight in Denver after more than 20 hours of traveling, I called United, who located my parents, comped a decent hotel in Denver and provided meal tickets in addition to transportation from and to the airport. I do hope they continue to improve their services...I would hate to change airlines after racking up a lot of miles with them! read more

I'm one of the minority, but I like UA quite a bit and have been loyal to them for almost 15 years. Most of the reviews on here are fairly typical of what you'd see under any airline. Snark featuring pieces about how the airline and its employees didn't roll out the red carpet for the reviewers in exchange for the super-reduced mega cheap fare that they bought, and therefore the airline, the travel industry and everyone else on the planet can suck it. Bleh. When United has fucked up - and oh, they have - they've always done right by me. Last year I flew 80k miles, the year before that, just shy of 100. Have been Premier since 2000 and have never once paid for Economy Plus, a bag checking fee, etc. If you travel at least 25k miles a year, you're stupid if you don't consolidate it all on one airline. Since most of the airlines are the same, I consolidated on United because their planes are the youngest in the industry, they have a good frequent flier plan, the Star Alliance is the biggest and broadest in the world, and again - when they HAVE screwed the pooch, they didn't screw me on top of it. No airline is perfect, and the whining from people who pack 400 pound carry-on bags, show up to the airport late, demand that everyone on the fucking plane bow to them and then STILL complain about everything and everyone they encounter is just tired. Act like a grown up and treat people with respect - on any airline - and they'll get your whiny ass to your destination in one piece and with your luggage. Southwest and Midway have always been my airline/airport. I recently went to Maui and back, thanks to ATA going under last year, Southwest was not an option. The cheapest flight I could find was on United. I'm really not used to such a skeezy airline. I'm jut going to lay out some of my observations from my flight to and from Maui. - Couldn't board on time because they needed to have 8 flight attendants on board first, apparently they were late, hungover, etc- we started boarding a 777 20 minutes late. -Upon 2 occasions I was not given a seat assignment upon checking in. The first time this happened, I was confused and thought I didn't know how to read my ticket until I glanced at someone elses. I went up to the counter and they had a ticket waiting for me, as if I was supposed to know to come up there on my own. On the way back the same thing happened, so I immediately went to the counter where the worker was very rude to me, and told me to have a seat and if I needed a seat assignment she'd call me up later. Once flight group 4 was boarding, she finally called me up. I really don't understand this whole process, I know Southwest doesn't do seat assignments, but the other airlines I've been on don't appear to be such a mismanaged CF. -My biggest reason for wanting to write a review is the whole Buyer Beware thing. United is so sneaky and is trying so desperately hard to get your money. Each time as I was checking in to the self-serve kiosk, I had to go through a list of things that they were trying to get me to purchase- economy plus, premier boarding line, etc for each of my flights. It is so very easy to hit the purchase button, since it is on the right side and highlighted. In my list of 5 screens of marketing, I must have accidentally hit purchase economy plus once, because I later found myself sitting in it on my last connecting flight. The scary thing is that there is no payment confirmation, if you check-in with your credit card, they will just charge you. -The only positive I found was XM Radio, and I also enjoyed an article I read in their Hemisphere magazine, so I decided to take it with me Overall, dissatisfied with United. I am hoping I won't have to fly with them again, but due to limitations of Southwest to the U.S., I'm fearful that I might have to. If so, I will be more cautious about hitting buttons on the check-in screen. read more

United airline serously sucks. I normally use other airlines but just this one time I thought they are offering a lower price and I should try their ailines. Well I ended up paying A LOT MORE. I booked a round trip and in both of my flights were delayed. In my flight to Connecticut my flight was delayed for two hours and I was supposed to get there at 11 PM but I actually got there at 1:00 AM. It was during the week and my friend who was supposed to pick me up had work to do the next day so we ended up staying somewhere close for the night since it was quite a bit of a drive to her place. Also in my flight back to Seattle the flight keep having delays. It first had 1 hour delay so I sat infront of the gate. Then I received an email that it will have 2 hours delay but at the same gate. And then I received another email that it will have 3 hours delay at the same gate... I was so frustrated because again I would get there after midnight and no body could pick me up. I ended up paying for the shuttle. They ruin my whole trip. Also I was so close to miss my second flight because they changed the gate without announcing it through email or anything. They did not even have it on the screens. I received their email that the flight will be at the same gate BUT THEY CHANGED IT. I just realized that there is no one around me before the flight. so I thought maybe they changed it and checked it for my self. Well these guys need some management. They will ruin your plans and your trip. I had a horrible experience with United and will not suggest it to anyone. I ended up paying alot more because of their messed up flights. I also insured my flights and call them to see if they are atleast partially responssible for the cost they are forcing on their customers and they told me they are not going to pay a penny unless there is at least a 6 hour delay!! Their service is not good at all either. At least in other airlines they will give you a small snack. United Sell it to you for twice the price you can get it somewhere else. I was so hungry and when I realized that they are not going to give us anything I decided to order dinner and guess what. they told me they ran out of everything!!!!!!!!!! Edit: We are a military family and they have no respect for the military. Hands down pick.. ANY other airline. I've never had the issues I've had today with any other airline. & I fly yearly. First off take off and landing took an abnormally long amount of time. And then I got off my plane with two babies and our stroller wasn't ready. Not to mention we landed with 30 minutes to get to our connecting flight and we landed at terminal C and our next flight was at F.. so needless to say once waiting 15 minutes to receive our stroller and running across the airport having to take 2 elevators on the way we made it there 1 minute late and the lady said sorry go see customer service.. we get to customer service and "Ana" and her partner and crime whoever was on shift with her at 1pm on December 23rd 2018, were super rude. Told us it was our fault for picking the flight, I mean they're not wrong I won't ever fly United again and I'll make sure everyone I know doesn't either. They were super disrespectful and unprofessional, didn't apologize or compensate us in any way. If United spent as much money hiring new staff as they do on their cheesy commercials about how "great" their customer service is maybe they would actually have good customer service that speaks for its self. Worst airport ever 1 - it's mighty cold 2- I'm a believer that everyone deserve a home and warm bed specially in that cold weather however that airport can be very scary when you have a connecting flight and very incompetent United Airline over booked the flight and you have to stay in the airport for hours at night and homeless people approach you start to yell at you and tell you , you are in their spot. It's a huge airport with heavy traffic however after 9 pm almost every food court close (so I Gus's they believe that late night travelers deserve to eat ) Moving forward I will do the best to avoid that airport Oh and cherry on top of that ice cream is that the staff take a guilty pleasure on keeping your duty free items (no supervisors available to back up their stupid rule) and let it know to the passengers that they are going to enjoy whatever bottles / food / gifts you have read more

My beef with United Airlines has to do with their level of customer service. I've been a longtime customer of Continental Airlines, which I think is FANTASTIC and I'm very disappointed with the merger. United is a subpar airline. I fail to understand why so many people are satisfied with it. I gave up a seat on an overbooked United flight from SAT to EWR in March 2010 for $400 of Travel Credit Exchange Coupons. In order to use these coupons, you have to make a reservation on the phone with a United Agent and send your coupons to their Dearborn, MI office. Supposedly, they hold your reservation for 10 days until the vouchers are received. They reservation was cancelled/lost and an agent made a new reservation for several hundred more than the original price. However, he forgot to inform me of the price change. My credit card was charged for $350 above the value of the vouchers. Another United Agent claimed he would refund me the difference, which was never done. Knowing full-well I was lied to, I cancelled the ticket. I lost the vouchers and I'm having a call-center headache trying to get the $350 refund back. The only way to contact the refund department is through e-mail and they don't reply once they've taken your money! There is no communication between customer service and refunds so the agents are apologetic that they can't do more and try to get you off the phone by providing the catch-all email address. I'm very sourly disappointed with United's amateur level of customer service. read more

I would give them a negative rating if possible. I travel a lot and I have used United for a majority of my flying, but I will NEVER use them again, and I mentioned to our hr department to never use them either. Long story short, due to the climatic weather we had in Chicago in the beginning of February, our flight from Iowa to Chicago was cancelled, I had a flight paid to go from Chicago to San Diego the following day. I called United, explained we were stuck in Iowa and tried to get a different flight, I was told it would cost and additional $200.00 per ticket. I then asked if I can get my own way out there could I use the tickets to come back to Chicago, and again they said no, the tickets would be void if I didn't check in to Chicago, they didn't offer any options but to sell me new tickets when we arrived in Chicago for $1600.00 per ticket, what a joke. I ended up buying tickets on a different carrier, I hope United goes back to bankruptcy, they have incompetent people who can't relate with their customers. read more

I've been flying on United for about 10+ years and I cannot say enough good things about them. I primarily fly international in business class with my entire family 2-3 times a year and the customer service in the air is phenomenal. I also fly at least once a year domestically in coach and I have no complaints there either. We always are able to sit our entire family of five together. Once my daughter even left her backpack (with an iPad in it) in the meditation room (we pray before we get on flights) I alerted the flight attendant and they tracked down the bag and although they didn't get it to me on the flight they mailed it to my home address in the United States and it was there by the time we came back. The only negative experience I've ever had with them was on a return flight from Tel Aviv, Israel which was delayed an hour or two. Once we arrived in Newark we only had like 10 minutes to get to our connecting flight. So we ran our asses off to get there in time, pushing 2 strollers and carrying the 9 year old, totally dripping sweat by the time we got there we had run about 1 & 1/2 miles! Only to find out, they had already given our business class seats to somebody else and had rebooked us on the next outbound flight! I just wish I'd have known before we exited the flight that was delayed. read more

Thank you United. My 15 and a half year old dog traveled from Caracas to Houston and then from Houston to Phoenix. I was very concerned about the impact of the trip on her health but it was not necessary. Staff in Caracas were very helpful and attentive, they even called to check if she arrived safe and sound. This review is for United in general, not just from O'Hare. I've always had fairly pleasant experienced on my United Airlines trips. And I have to be honest, I don't have a very high bar for airline travel. So there is that. However, the vast majority of my United flights have departed on time from any airport. Yeah, some of their airplanes are older. And some of the amenities on the plane aren't the nicest. But realistically I always come prepped with my iPad or iPod, so I'm fine. This A-OK review is really for the HUGE amount of places you service, and the fact that you have pretty regular service I can depend on to get me there. And currently being in Indianapolis for the time being...this city rather limited options for airlines and flights (in my opinion), and I appreciate being able to get out and about with United. read more

Well, United, 5 strikes and you're out. I now have enough FF miles for a 1-way ticket, and believe me, using that ticket is the last time I will be flying your sorry-ass airline every again. Here's my last 5 United flights: - December 2008, ORD to SMF. Upon booking the ticket, it said 1st checked bag was free. At the airport, all checked bags are $15. WTF? Looking back, I guess I should have been happy about them only charging $15 for a checked bag, consider it's now $25 for the first and $35 for the second. - December 2009, ORD to SFO. My first flight on a Boeing 777. I was so excited....until I was informed the in-flight entertainment system was busted...and since I was counting on that for a movie, I didn't bring a book, computer, or charged iPhone. Fuuuuuck. - May 2010, PHX to SFO. I got stuck at Rental Car return in Phoenix, then had problems at TSA screening, so I didn't get to the gate until 15 minutes before flight departure. I panicked when I saw no plane at the gate and thought it had already taken off. Turns out the plane wasn't even there yet. United was ranked #1 in on-time departures last year? My ass. - December 2010, SFO to YVR. We get on the plane and then are informed for a slight problem - there are no pilots. They were flying down from SEA and got delayed coming in. Who...WTF? United's pilots do a 2 hour night flight from Seattle, take a little coffee break, then fly right back up to Vancouver? That's re-assuring on those cold winter nights, where all you want to do is curl up in a warm bed and take a yap. Yaaaawn, I'm getting sleepy just writing this. - December 2010, MKE to SFO via ORD. I show up in the airport and find the flight out of MKE has been delayed 2.5 hours. Kind of a problem, since layover in O'Hare was only 75 minutes. Without hesitation I hauled ass down to Chicago and caught my flight without being bumped. Others weren't so lucky - I counted 20 people who were let on the plane only to find their seats were already assigned to someone else. You can imagine they had some not family-safe words when exiting the plane. Yeaaaaaahh. But I'm sure these are all "coincidences" and "bad luck". Oddly, I've flown Alaska over 12 times, AirTran 5 times, USAir 3, and American twice. Never a single problem. Ever. read more

I'd fly Southwest if they they provided service to an airport that was conveniently located but alas, that's not thier business model so I'm stuck with the horrible service of United. Giving them money so I can travel is always so bittersweet - I'm able to travel but something unexpected and inconvenient always seems to pop up. Of all the airlines that I travel regularly United is the one I least like to travel. It does fly out of Newark's Terminal A and I tend to try to fly airlines that fly out of Terminal A (less crowded and easier parking). However, United treats most of there passengers like cattle. They have different levels of coach and if the flight is not crowded the passengers are forbidden to move to the less crowded seats with 3 inches of extra leg room in the front of the coach section. This has been the case even when I have paid full fare coach. I travel a lot so I have elite status on almost every airline that I travel except United since I usually elect to use my points with one of their partner airlines (US Airways). I also noticed that the check-in scales in Newark are not the same as the ones in San Francisco. My bag was under weight in Newark but overweight coming back from San Francisco with less stuff in it. I have recently decided to bite the bullet and start flying Continental out of Terminal C. I do have a free flight on United since one of my flights was overbooked and overweight. Since my connection had been canceled I was selected to be left behind. read more

Weakest airline of 2010. I'm Platinum on AA, Platinum on Continental, and am a frequent traveler domestically and internationally. United's business processes are extremely inflexible, their people generally are unhappy, and it really feels like the company doesn't want corporate traveler business. Strike 1: United charges $50 to fly standby even if you're Star Alliance Gold. Neither AA nor Continental mistreat their biz travelers like that. Strike 2: Checked bags have to be there 45 minutes before boarding time or they won't even check you in! AA and Continental check you in 30 mins before the flight leaves and let you take your chances if your bags arrive. Strike 3: 12 hour rebook window?! After barely missing a flight, I still tried to fly loads-of-cash standby on the next flight on United.com, but they needed a 12-hour leadtime because part of the United flight with a United flight number was operated by Continental. 12 hours?! Smisek, hire those M&A integration consultants fast (BPO, HCM, tech, marketing) and make sure they fly in on Continental or AA. Good luck. read more

People, we really need to stop spending m money on low level customer service. United Airlines changed out gate THREE TIMES! THREE TIMES! With no warning and/or apology. We are traveling older women and one requires a wheelchair. This is our FIRST and LAST time traveling with UA. AND on top of all of that - our flight is delayed! I felt like a private in the Marines. Not friendly people. I think they hated their jobs. No smiles, no welcome aboard. When we reached 10k feet, the crew came by with their carts - but yelling out "Purchase an item" - it seemed their training was more for hard-core sales and not customer service. I have spent about three years flying weekly for work. At one time or another I have had status on American, Southwest, Continental and United. One thing I have learned is that all airlines suck and they all suck at different things. With the exception of Southwest, United has the best customer service of the airlines I have flown regularly. Credit for that goes to the merger with Continental. It seems like Continental's customer service practices have been adopted by United, and this is a needed upgrade for United. Additionally, the new frequent flyer plan has 4 tiers. Very nice for people who fly regularly, but not enough to get 100K miles per year. From me, 3 stars from an airline is a ringing endorsement. I don't think United could do much more for their customers, stay reliable, offer as many destinations as they do and keep prices reasonable. (Prices for most routes have risen very little over the past 30 years. There is a reason there are no empty seats and they have bag fees.) Yes, if you fly enough they will lose your bags, make you sit through long delays and cancel your flight. However, American could learn a lot from United (something I never thought I'd say 5 years ago). read more

Terrible! I had a 7:18pm flight to NY, and when I got to the airport at 5:45pm, I was told it was delayed until 8:30pm! I called my friend to pick me up so I wasn't sitting in the airport for 3 hours, and we went to a Subway 10 minutes away. While there I get a text on my phone saying the flight is delayed again until 9pm, then another one saying 9:30pm! At 8pm I say we should head back, but right as we're leaving, they tell us the flight is back to 9pm! So we rush to the airport and get there in 10 mins, but by the time I try to check my baggage they say its too late to put it on that flight. Thankfully they switched my ticket to an 8:30pm flight that was delayed until 10:30pm (of course) so I went to the gate and waited. When 10:30 hit, it was delayed until 11pm. Then 11:30pm. I would be flying into NY at 2:30am!!! Then, they just decided to cancel it. Everybody was outraged that we spent 5 hours in the airport just to be told to come back at 7am! I tried to see if there was a later flight in the morning that I could take because I had just spend hours in the airport and wanted to be able to sleep, but there were no open flights. I had my friend pick me up AGAIN and I slept at their house for about 4 hours before I had to head back to the airport for the early flight. I was lucky enough to have somewhere to stay, but most of the other people had to get hotels, and United wasn't paying for anything! No hotels, no transportation fees.... NOTHING. I'm guessing most of them just slept in the airport that night. I usually NEVER fly United, but it was a last minute trip and their tickets were available and cheap (I wonder why). I will NEVER fly United again...I'd rather just pay the extra money for an airline like American. read more

Once upon a time, I had elite status on United. Then, on two occasions, United decided that customer service wasn't important. Consequently, I moved the vast majority of my business to Delta (and other SkyTeam airlines). The first incident occurred due to a mechanical delay at IAD. While I was thankfully housed in a hotel for the night (then again, every airline will do this if it's an MX delay), the compensation provided failed even to approach the lost wages I encountered due to the delay in arrival. A friend of mine, who was also an Elite with United, received more than twice the compensation for a nearly identical event. The second incident occurred due to a misconnect in LAX, again due to United's error (and not weather). I had to be rerouted. I had upgraded my flights. United customer service, handily based in India, decided to double charge me for upgrades on the reroute. When I asked United to correct these breakdowns, I received a "Thanks, but no thanks" email and token miles from them. I haven't flown them since. United lost a flyer who is now 1K-level, and they did it over a lack of customer service. read more

Let's face it....as with any airline there are going to be 'cultural' lines drawn. I hear plenty of people complain about this and that on United. And, for a while I was one of them too. However, as with many airlines (see above), when you attain 'status' on their network your experience does change quite a bit. From everything such as free bag checks to upgrades, etc, you'll see quite the difference from flying in the 'back of the bus' Often people will simply select their airfare based on the cheapest flights available without considering that spending a few bucks here and there to gain a bit of 'loyalty' with one airline or system may pay back in spades down the road. N.B.: That being said, there is a hierarchy within loyalty programs as well as there are so many frequent flyers these days. It also requires regular flying year to year to maintain your status. read more

Terrible experience dealing with customer service. Trying to cancel a flight and they're trying to charge us 50% of the ticket price to rebook in the future. We're not even getting a refund, we're getting a flight voucher that expires less than 8 months from now. When dealing with customer service, I've received no sympathy, and was told "that's what you get when you buy a cheap ticket, and you'll experience these fees with every airline when you buy a cheap ticket." First of all, way to be proud of your crappy service, second of all, I can buy and cancel a flight through Southwestern up to two hours prior to the flight for a FULL REFUND. Not a voucher, a REFUND. This is pathetic. We have never flown United and I can assure you that we will never fly it again in the future, and we will do our best to make sure none of our friends or family fly with them. Flying this airline is like being in a third world country for a few hours, without the benefits of sandy beaches or amazing temples or wildlife. No, you just sit in lounges for hours waiting for delayed airlines, glared at by staff who hate their jobs and sit in 40 year old torn and dirty seats. There is a slim chance your luggage shows up, if it it does it is late and without apology. I hate United airlines. Tried to get some help from the people working there that was nearly impossible. Then I was next to a fat guy on the plane who's gross fat was in my seat. He should be forced to buy two seats. United Cancelled my flight on June 3rd 2012 due to mechanical issues with the plane out of St. Louis. Because of this, we missed our connecting flight out of Chicago. This all happened at 9:00 am. Yet, united stated that they could not fly my party (4) out until the next day. Because of this, we had to delay our trip to Hawaii a whole day. Here is what I don't understand, United showed on line that it had flights that it was selling, that could have connected my party to Hawaii that day. We flew United Airlines just over 3 weeks ago, it was quick and easy to go to Denver on a Friday Morning. Not the greatest of days to fly with a few bumps, but not bad. The service was good and the stewardesses were attentive. Never have a issue really with them. I am though a bit shocked about the recent media news and changes that have occurred. Hey if ticket prices drop then I'll just get more flights with them. Bad PR is not always bad for everyone! Also, I despise the baggage policy and usually travel as light as possible to avoid checking a bag. I don't feel like ever having to interrogate people for my personally belongs to find out they went somewhere else and i'll have to wait 3-5 days to get them. read more

I complain about domestic air travel as much as the next guy. So it's fair that I also leave a "Thanks!" when appropriate. A HUGE THANKS to United, who found an iPad I left on a flight. (Dumb mistake. I know). They got my name and number from a business card in the case. (Preparation for potential loss. Good idea). A very nice guy called and then shipped it FedEx 2-day to me. United used to be a pleasure to fly. Now it's awful. Say you are on a business trip that ends early...they charge to even fly standby for next flight!! Try calling customer service...............They outsourced all Chicago area jobs to India and other countries. Terrible company. Try using your miles...good luck having them get you a flight! Wow...people hate airlines. I was in St. Louis last night, the night of the HUGE storm in Chicago. Flight was delayed due to a complete ground stop at O'Hare AND Midway...major, major delays... EVERYone was trying to figure out what was going on and how THEY could be the "special" person that found some secret way to get home faster than the rest of us...there's no secret... But I did ask to get put on one of the earlier flights that was also delayed but scheduled to go out sooner than mine. The woman at the desk got me on, no problem, and she was in charge of EVERYthing in this particular wing; customers, luggage, updates... While sitting taxied on the plane, the pilot was updating us as soon as he knew anything and broke us the repeatedly bad news very gently and with a touch of much appreciated humor... Long story short (too late) after boarding, deboarding, and reboarding a few times, the pilot got clearance to take off, safely flew us around the storm (lightening everywhere!) and got us to Chicago safely. He and the flight attendants both thanked us, the passengers, for hanging in there and being understanding of mother nature... It was a crappy situation for everyone everywhere but the United Airlines folks all handled it gracefully and did all they could to help us all...it showed in the demeanor of the stranded passengers. We were treated kindly and treated them and each other kindly right back... I'm home now. Whew... read more

Oh, Ted. How I despise you now. Thanks for the "extra leg room" that I paid $44 for but didn't get. Instead, you gave me the very last row in the plane next to the bathroom. I was reminded today why I never fly United. I purchased an aisle seat for my flight but when I checked in at the airport, my seat assignment changed to a middle seat with no explanation. Of course the flight was full so I could not get another aisle seat. United ticket agents could not explain how my seat assignment was changed despite my showing them my travel receipt where I purchased the aisle nor did they offer very much assistance to rectify the situation. I simply had to endure a terrible flight experience. Never again. read more

I love United, well... as much as anyone can love a airline. They have lots of flights between my two favorite cities (SF and ORD). They have extra leg room for tall chicks like me. They give me nice things, like preferred security, for flying with them all the time (one of the few benefits of a long-distance relationship). But, most of all, they DON'T MAKE ME WAIT IN LINE LIKE FUCKING CATTLE TO GET A SEAT. If that ain't love, I don't know what is. read more
