Looks like most, if not all of the previous reviews are over 10 years old and average 2-stars. I flew United within the last month and I had a pretty good experience considering all the horror stories I've heard. The first complaint I usually hear is that United has a lot of delayed flights. In my case, our flight was on time. Second complaint I typically hear is that their customer service is bad. Fortunately, we received only good customer service on our flight to LAX. Bag check-in was easy enough. At the gate, they naturally let us board first because we had little ones and like most airlines, they board those with mobility needs, young children, and military personnel first. The plane was clean, they had blankets at each seat for each passenger and not too far into our flight, they offered us complimentary snacks and drinks. I liked that we had a choice of 3 different snacks. There were a savory snack mix that consisted of pretzels and bagel bites, a chocolate quinoa crisp, and a stroopwaffle. Water, juice, and soda were free. Not too long after that, they offered us food and alcoholic drinks for purchase. The food options weren't bad. There were a couple of hot sandwiches available, a fresh fruit and cheese tray, and several different snack boxes. Towards the end of the flight, the flight attendants came around to offer us water. Mid-flight there was some turbulence that lasted a little longer than normal. Nothing the pilots could have prevented. It was just annoying because it was not the type of turbulence I can usually ignore. It was a lot bumpier and lasted for several minutes. Yes, the restrooms are small like any other aircraft, but there was one stall in particular that was really convenient to use. It was a larger ADA accessible and family-type restroom in the middle of the plane which made it easy to take my little ones to go potty. We had a pretty smooth landing, no lost luggage, good customer service, and an overall good experience. Thanks, United!

I haven't flown United in a hot minute but I booked them from SNA to HNL with a layover in SFO. Granted, I could have flown direct from other airports but did I want to take an UBER/Lyft to those airports? Not, really. I like my home airport and will fly in and out of it 90% of the time. On the way there from SFO, I prebooked my illy cold brew ($6) but I get 25% cash back because I am a United Explorer cardholder. I also thought I would get free checked bags because of the Explorer card, but since I did not have the card at the time of booking, we ended up having to carry-on instead. Not a problem. But because of either points booking or the card, we ended up with Boarding Group 2 so that was a win. I also love that they brought their Stroopwafels back into rotation as one of the snacks available to passengers. We flew economy this time but our flights were short and I could not justify the paid upgrades. There was plenty of room in the overhead bins for our bags. On the overnight flight from HNL to SFO, the person next to my husband requested to move seats due to some sort of allergy and she was accommodated. We ended up with an empty seat so we were able to stretch out a tiny bit on our redeye flight. The FAs were super friendly and helpful. I kind of wish we had meals but it was fine. We ended up utilizing the lounges before our long flights and it worked out. Economy isn't too bad for short flights but the seat pitch is definitely tight.

Our flight with United, from SFO to HNL was fast and peaceful. We took the 1st flight in the morning, the plane left on time, and we got into Honolulu 15 minutes early. The views during decent were welcoming and the pilot did a wonderful job because the landing was smooth. The flight attendants were very attentive and supplied everyone with light snacks and beverages. They were mindful of the sleeping passengers and spoke in subtle voices. Overall it was a great plane ride. The 5.5 hrs went by quickly. I'm glad the early crowd was all in unison with their sleepiness and we all got to wake up in paradise! Absolutely happy with United Airlines service and professionalism! I'll definitely be flying with them again!

I recently experienced an exceptionally disappointing flight, an ordeal I had previously only heard others describe. Throughout the entire five-and-a-half-hour journey, three separate groups of children continuously screamed and yelled. Unfortunately, no crew member made any attempt to address the situation with their parents, resulting in a universally unpleasant atmosphere for everyone on board. Compounding the issue, the cabin crew displayed a noticeable lack of attentiveness. I requested pretzels three different times from two separate flight attendants, and never received them. My additional requests for headphones and a blanket were also ignored. Collectively, these oversights contributed to one of the most unsatisfactory flight experiences I have ever had. The overall demeanor of the crew appeared disengaged and indifferent, as if they were uninterested in their roles. There was no greeting during boarding and no acknowledgment or farewell upon disembarking. While my time in Hawaii was wonderful, the return flight was unfortunately overshadowed by these issues. Additionally, the cleanliness of the aircraft was unacceptable. The menus were visibly soiled with grease and stains. I have photographs available should you wish to review them. The window beside my seat had hair embedded in it, surrounded by grease, and my seat was dirty enough that I had to clean it myself using my husband's blanket. This level of service and cleanliness is far below reasonable expectations, and I hope these concerns are taken seriously to improve future passenger experiences.

I haven't flown United in a while. It's ok. They take longer to board than other airlines. They're also behind the times. Other airlines have screens in back of the seats for movies and games. United offers movies, but it has to be on your own device on this plane. Some of their other planes have screens behind the seats. One positive is that they offer complimentary dinner. We flew out of Honolulu on the way to Houston on an 8pm flight. We got a choice of grilled chicken salad or pasta salad. We got one of each to try. We liked the grilled chicken salad better. It had quinoa with black beans. We also got complimentary drinks. I got cranberry juice. The hubby got coffee. Service was good. The flight attendants were nice and made jokes.

Did anyone else got sick on a flight from SFO to HNL on July 12, 2025. Left SFO at 1700 (delayed) and arrived in HNL around 7pm. Flight number UA300. We were on a first class flight that day. My BF and I were served a meal. After eating and when we got home (we didn't eat anything from the airport to home), we both had diarrhea and vomiting for 3 days. I emailed United and complained and they told me that they cannot confirm if we did get sick from their meal that we consume. So if you're on the same flight in first class, pls comment and let me know. You may email to me at gabril6@yahoo.com Thank you. Will never fly first class and will never eat United food again.

One bag per bin but we are on 100 full plane and no back packs overhead

Boarding was awful. Told us to only put rollers on top bins but on one side only one roller per bin fits. Who designed this. On a flight from HNL to den a long flight. The attendant couldn't even fix it. Move me to be with my bag or move someone else's bag closer to that spot. Each person on board should have one overhead bin to them or one side of the bin. Or stop allowing particular rollers if the wheels are too long. Customer service. Expensive tickets. All need to be reviewed here. I see there is a phone holder that is awesome unlike other planes. To be more accommodating would be more reasonable. WiFi for free like Hawaiian.

Great to be home after 28 hours on United then Alaska airlines. What surprised me was the luggage we sent on at Ft. Lauderdale arrived on the same carousel as the 2 gate checked luggage from Seattle. Although the tickets were purchased through United, the Alaska air flights had no movie screen and you definitely should purchase a meal before boarding those flights.

No leg room and I'm short

Basic economy class. The planes got me to and from my destination safe. Regretfully, there were no TV monitors on the back of the seats and the flight was about 5 hours. Lucky for me, I downloaded movies to my iPad in advance but forgot my headphones. The airline was able to provide a free pair. Doable but not the best quality. You can order snacks according to the type of flight you're on. Domestic or International. Minimal selection on allergy friendly choices. Beverage service is average.

    Lots of leg room

My flight is already confirmed, and almost every airline has people who have had a bad experience and left a review, while people who had a perfectly normal flight often don't post anything at all. Before the trip, I'd just check the basic safety information, cancellation and refund policy, baggage allowance, seat upgrade options, flight change policy, and customer service information so you know what to expect. If you have any questions about your booking, it's also worth contacting Hawaiian Airlines customer service directly. I'd make sure everything is ready for the trip and focus on enjoying the vacation. Hopefully you'll have a smooth flight and a great first travel experience! So i instantly got worried, looked up some other airlines and some of them had worse scores, some of them better, but im not sure if this is actually something i should be worried about or not could someone please help me out here, should i see if i can change airlines for my own safety and peace of mind or does it not matter? The actual service took around an hour. The technician was professional and kept the work area reasonably clean. After completing the repair, he tested the AC and explained what had been fixed. The AC was working properly when he finished, which was the main thing I was looking for. One thing I particularly liked was the communication. When I had a question about the service, I was able to contact the company and get an answer. The staff member on the phone was polite and tried to explain the process clearly. There was one area that could be improved. The waiting time was slightly longer than I originally expected, so better communication about the exact arrival time would have made the experience even better. Apart from that, I did not have any major problems with the service. The final experience was positive for me. I found the booking process straightforward, the communication helpful, and the actual service satisfactory. I also appreciated that the technician explained the work instead of simply completing it and leaving. Based on my experience, I would give **Airline Airport Services 4 out of 5 stars**. I would consider using them again if I needed the same type of service in the future. Of course, everyone's experience can be different, but based on my own visit, I was generally satisfied with the service and the way the booking and repair were handled. Overall, the main positives for me were the easy booking process, helpful communication, professional service, and the fact that the problem was resolved. With slightly better timing communication, the experience could have been even better.

I recently flew one-way with Southwest Airlines from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) Terminal 2 to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). They had been my favorite domestic carrier for years (I wished they flew internationally!) until Alaska Airlines dethroned them with more routes. Southwest Airlines cornered the southwest and west coast air traffic markets, respectively, and have flown them for business and pleasure. Did this airline still rule the southwest skies!? PURCHASE(S) One-Way Wanna-Get-Away Airfare ($253.10): Nowadays, I booked one-way flights because I usually had more flexibility when I needed to return. However, in this particular case, I needed to be back in Los Angeles for a work event the next afternoon. Since I booked the flight less than three weeks before its departure, I was basically screwed for domestic air travel during the medium season (I returned right after the spring break window). On a red-eye direct flight that arrived in Los Angeles around 5:30am the next morning, it allowed me enough time to get home, get ready, and get to my work event. Checked Luggage (Varied; N/A this instance): This once FREE amenity has since been removed and now was a paid expense. I traveled very light, especially for a quick trip such as this, so I only had a carry-on and backpack. FLIGHT EXPERIENCE ~Check-in: I checked-in online 24-hours prior (Group 3), had my QR code boarding pass on their app, and traveled with only a carryon and backpack, so I was ready to go! I had Global Entry & TSA PreCheck, so my time with security checkpoints and the necessary TSA pleasantries was efficient and minimal. When it was time, passengers were queued-up in order of their boarding group (i.e. A/B/C). The flight felt like it arrived shortly after it departed. ~Seat(s): 27A Window - Come on, it was the same sardine can like all airplanes these days. Recently, Southwest Airlines started assigning seats, so it was no longer a free-for-all once you boarded the plane. I always favored a window seat towards the back of the plane close to the restroom and snacks. I was lucky enough to almost get exactly that! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=mPgY2GS6Z8NBlgeqkY9tkw ~In-flight Meals (Varied; FREE this instance): I opted for my normal Seagram's Ginger Ale and this time a bag of almonds https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=5-89IYcr8bJRpTt-GoMSwg on Southwest Airlines that I loved. ~Lavatory: I'd done my business at the terminal before we left, so I had no idea of the condition of the restroom closest to me. ~Service & Amenities: All uniformly-dressed flight attendants were adequate and spoke perfect English. None of the seats had video monitors for movie/show watching, music listening, and games playing. The seats themselves were roomy enough. No blankets, headphones, or pillows were provided. The drink/snack cart rolled out shortly after the plane leveled off after takeoff. There were no carry-on baggage fees. PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): I traveled through and had no need to park (I was dropped off). However, the airport offered onsite parking garages with rates that varied depending on length of stay from FREE (less than 15 minutes) and around $1.00 (16-30 minutes) to a range of $27.00/daily maximum (8+ hours). Because my gate was located within Terminal 1 of departing flights, you had to already be an outgoing or incoming passenger to even get here, so parking would be a moot point. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Located deep into Terminal 2 (specifically near Gates E4-E10) filled with several gates, plenty of reasonably-priced eateries and duty-free shops, and a handful of monitors as you passed them along the way. There were sufficient places to sit in the terminal with plenty of natural and electric lighting. Once on the airplane, it seemed like any other, so nothing really needed to be said or seen here, but I wished I recalled the type of plane since I was nerdy like that! ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. I liked to be unencumbered and unfettered, so the least amount of clothing, especially while I traveled through an airport, the better! OVERALL My one-way non-stop flight on Southwest Airlines out of Honolulu (HNL) was fine and got me to Los Angeles (LAX) safely which truthfully was all that mattered to me on any flights. I wished there were seat video monitors that helped pass the time. In any case, I'd fly and recommend them again. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $253.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Not only they are The Philippines Flagship Carrier, they are the oldest airline in Asia. Although they can get you to major destinations across Asia and all ASEAN countries, they aren't in Alliance with other major airline carriers. Booking online was easy. Upon waking up that morning prior to departure, I noticed the flight was delayed by 1 1/2 hours. Which gave ample time to make our way to the airport to grab a bite and coffee before boarding the plane. Online check-in was successful, with 3 hours check-in time, it was sufficient. Having Global Entry membership allows you to expedite security via TSA Precheck only in Honolulu and other US Airports. I must say, that the ground staff from check-in to boarding were efficient and friendly. One piece of information I failed to pack was my Vaccination card or take a photo of both front and back of the card. My fault, I assumed restrictions were lowered and didn't do my proper research prior to the flight. The customer service agent just checked me in and I had the choice of heading back home to pick up my vax card, or chance myself when entering The Philippines without proof of vaccination. Thailand dropped all restrictions from our previous visit Fall of last year. As a foreign traveler entering The Philippines, you're required to complete your eTravel registration to declare proof of vaccination, similar to when entering Japan when proof of vaccination was required. When complete, the website will issue a QR Code prior to entering the country. Service onboard was excellent. Available onboard entertainment on each seat back screens. Being seated in Economy Class, I noticed both lunch and dinner meals includes silverware. For long-haul flights, I'm content. Between Honolulu and Manila, onboard amenities were a pillow & blanket, toothbrush, earphones, two complimentary meals including a mid flight snack, alcohol including red or white wine, beer and other nonalcoholic beverages. Between Manila and Bangkok, it was almost the same. No amenity's were provided on a A321 and each seat back had no inflight screen monitors. But there was a dinner served on the flight going to BKK. Lunch on the return, and free inflight entertainment on each seatback furnished by an A330-300 aircraft. PAL occupies Terminals 1&2 at Manila International Airport(NAIA). When transferring between terminals, it was a bit of organized chaos. What the customer service agent in Honolulu advised us that our checked luggages would automatically transfer between MNL & BKK. Both us and a Thai passenger didn't have faith that our bags would make it through to our final destination. We all had to double check over and over. There was an airport transfer that would shuttle passengers from T1 to T2 without leaving the airport premises. You're escorted by a ticket agent to bypass immigration and customs, and it's required you pass through another security screening as if you are entering an airport for the first time, very similar to making a transit at Incheon Airport. It's not an huge airport like Haneda Airport, but every single person onboard and in NAIA are English friendly, and the most helpful and friendliest airline personnel I've ever come across! Maybe in the future if booked in Business Class, I'd update my review for later.

After the initial cancellations, we were rebooked on United for the first leg to LAX -- and that ended up being an excellent flight. The service was smooth, professional, and truly exceeded expectations. The crew was attentive, the aircraft was comfortable, and the overall experience immediately relieved a lot of the stress from the earlier disruptions. From LAX, we switched back to Delta for the next leg to Honolulu. Delta went above and beyond to make the delay easier on us: * Overnight hotel accommodations provided * Food vouchers covered meals * Uber transportation to and from the airport was arranged Those extra steps made a huge difference and showed a real commitment to customer care. By the time we boarded the final leg of our journey, everything felt seamless again. What started as a frustrating travel day truly turned into a reminder of how great airline service can be when teams go the extra mile. Huge thanks to both United and Delta for making sure we were taken care of every step of the way. We finally arrived in Kona with our spirits high and gratitude even higher. Highly recommend -- top-notch service all around.

Much easier and don't have to walk or hunt for a restroom as much as before. In Terminal 1, it is nice that got more comfortable furniture to sit on after getting my coffee from the Starbucks. I really do wish there was a better indicator which security checkpoints are open. Especially in the early hours at Terminal 2. Walk one direction, only to find that it is closed, so sometimes have to backtrack to find one that is open. I totally get that at some hours, it may not make sense to staff all the checkpoints if the demand is lower, but it sure would be nice to look at something and it tells me which one I should go to. For the signs on the ground floor that directs people to the ride share and other places, it references the baggage claim numbers. It might be easier if the signs point people the column numbers, as those are highly visible and don't have to hunt for the baggage claim number signs from the street/curb area.

What is really cool is the tree in the center of the village. There are restaurants and souvenir shops in the village. I came here for the Honolulu Cookie stores. The village is quite busy. All I have to say is be VERY careful what room you think you're booking here as the pictures they…read moreadvertise are not the rooms with the views you end up getting. You can tell by the manager's responses to all of the negative reviews here that there is no desire to make any negative experiences right for the customer. There is an apology that it didn't live up to standard and an "I hope you give us a try next time". Let that be the baseline for the customer service you'll receive if you choose to stay at this hotel. We arrived in late July with our friend and two young kids. We get to our "ocean view" at the Rainbow Tower which we paid extra for only to find a gigantic tree blocking the view we believed we paid for. We called to the front desk and Annie very rudely dismissed us before telling us to come downstairs to prove that our view wasn't as the pictures showed when we booked it. She told us to head down to the Mail Drop line and when we got there we're told we were at the wrong place. We then argued with a manager (can't remember her name anymore) for I'd say a good hour. First, we were actually told the manager bounces between towers and wasn't at the Rainbow Tower which ended up being untrue as we saw her in the back when we came down and she ended up being the one to talk to us. We asked to be moved to a different room and we were told this very partial ocean view we got with the room we paid for titled "ocean view" was exactly what we paid for because if we wanted an ocean view we had to book "ocean front". Yet, if you book an ocean view room on their website or through Expedia, the view they advertise is a full ocean view. We definitely felt gaslit and like we were crazy for asking to be moved to a room we paid for. They finally agreed to move us to a "lagoon view" saying they didn't have any ocean front rooms because they're so busy that they're full 365 days of the year. (Meaning they don't really need our business, I'm guessing.) We were not happy with the lagoon view because we paid for an ocean view, but we ultimately had no choice but to concede and they said they would reimburse our resort fees. What's sad is that the employee knew how to work the system more than the manager. Also, another man came down with the same complaints as us, but no employees acknowledged him so he waved his hand, and stormed off. It's been over a month since this happened, and my friend who booked separately from us (who had the same issue) has yet to receive her reimbursement. They said they mailed the check and she never received it. She's been calling them and has received no reply. The elevator situation at the Rainbow Tower is also horrible. Supposedly, they're working out the kinks, but be prepared for long waits and very crowded elevators when you want to go anywhere. Another tip if you choose to stay here. Do NOT bother paying for the cabana at the Tapa pool. We did and no one walks you to the cabana. They tell you to open it up and set it up yourself after they hand you a few waters at the towel stand. There's no food or drink service, and you have to go to the bar next to it to get your food or drinks. It's also very isolated from anything fun. We booked 2 Casabellas at the Super Pool the next day. They were cheaper and MUCH better. They had food and drink service and the server was awesome and the towel desk takes you to them and opens them up for you. Cabanas are a bust and a total waste of money. Overall, the customer service at this hotel is awful and I can only assume it's because they don't need our business since they're full 365 days a year... as they informed us. The nice thing about the hotel is that it has shops and restaurants attached, but it's extremely crowded. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

Hawaiian Airlines is the worst airline organization I have ever seen in my entire life. I will…read morestand by that statement until the day I die. I have traveled across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. I have flown to more countries than I can count. I've gone through airports with insecure systems, airports where absolutely zero English was spoken, and somehow still managed to check my bags and get my items where they needed to go. This is not a personal opinion. This is a fact based on experience. Hawaiian Airlines is the most disorganized airline I have ever seen in my life, and honestly, I could see them going out of business. As you can see from the pictures, there is absolutely nobody assisting customers. I don't know if they are short-staffed because they refuse to hire people or refuse to pay decent wages, but nobody is there to help because the employees themselves appear overwhelmed with responsibility. Secondly, you have to wait in a completely separate line just to get your bags tagged. If the system fails and doesn't allow you to check in properly, you have to restart the entire process from the beginning. Then, after finally tagging your bags, there is another completely separate line just to drop the bags off. If something goes wrong again, you are sent all the way back to the beginning. It makes absolutely no sense. You know the system where you get your bag tag and boarding pass, then drop your bags? The system used by 99.9% of airlines? I assume Hawaiian Airlines leadership said, "I have an idea. I'm going to make this whole system complicated and confusing for my customers." There are multiple breakdowns in this entire process. You have five employees running back and forth trying to help move bags, but only one main line that splits into two checkpoints for customers trying to check in. Instead of having workers properly stationed at counters assisting customers with bag weighing and bag drop, they have thousands of kiosks with nobody available to help anyone use them. Customers are left standing around trying to figure out broken computer systems that do not scan properly, do not recognize confirmation codes, and constantly fail during check-in. It is a complete mess. I will say this: the flight attendants were very nice, the plane itself was wonderful, and the staff assisting once I finally made it to the front were helpful. But the entire experience beforehand was unnecessarily complicated for absolutely no reason. There are actual classes and professional systems dedicated to organization and customer flow, and Hawaiian Airlines would greatly benefit from them because they are completely failing in this aspect. Lastly, Hawaiian Airlines needs to get its shit together.
