We have had our UDI Water softener for 18 years. It continues to perform wonderfully. The yearly service is performed by Mark or Richard, two highly trained technicians and great guys. I'm working with an elderly widower client to sell his home. UDI installed a water softener on his home in 2019 for which they ripped him off badly and I'm fairly confident he didn't understand what he was signing... They charged him almost 7K on bad financing for a system that with installation should have only cost 2K from a reputable company. His wife passed and he lost her portion of their SS income and now is forced to sell his home to avoid foreclosure and come to find out there is still a $3400 lien against his home after all these years. While it was definitely an investment, it hasn't had to be replaced and I don't have to mess with filter changes. I've also got Jessie, one of the amazing technicians that services units. Stay away from these guys. First they hooked up a new system to the old plumbing, whether they broke the old connection during install, or neglected to see it needed replacement, it ruptured and flooded my garage causing damage. We have had our system installed for about 3 months in a home that had no water softener. The difference is amazing. We are seeing hard water stains on appliances and toilets that are going away. Soaps lather so much better. I really can't imagine not having it. Additionally, we added an RO system that we use for all of our drinking water that is better than using bottled water. Service is excellent when working But if You have a problem there isn't a live person to talk to unless you call after hours to the Answering Service that speaks English but doesn't understand English I have called 4 times and left message, I have texted to company about getting service Impossible I live in Port Charlotte Florida and pay the price they think is fair. With 2 bags of salt I never need but have to pay double or triple the price I pay. I think there should be a option to purchase there Salt or not. These bags of Salt are 40 lbs. each. I was browsing Yelp! at some home improvement sites when i noticed a new review about UDI, which prompted me to make sure I left a review of this company. 1.They are local to me, and 2. Because they truly deserve 5 stars! I have had my system for a couple of years now and i love it. Every single shower STILL has me feeling great, there is such a difference when using the system in our home; i like to think that if i can feel it on my skin and hair, that their is an added benefit of knowing that its going through the pipes/plumbing in my new home as well so none of that hard water the city pumps in is silently corroding my house. The RO water at the sink is now my go-to water, and not only does it make me feel fancy having one at the sink to show off, ( everyone that sees it wants one) but the water tastes great too. I was not a big water drinker before and I can honestly say that i have also experienced a pretty significant weight loss to due my increased water consumption (exercise too). i know i know they aren't a weight loss product, but they have honestly changed my life ! but wait there's more lol when i do the math (just now :) ) comparatively i would have spent like $2000 on bottled water in the last year. Summary of review details below: Please do not purchase this system without taking time to really consider it. If I could go back in time, I would not volunteer a water sample and I would not have allowed the sales rep into our home. The system has not worked for us as it was promised and we are not stuck with it because the company does not truly want 100% customer satisfaction. If they did, they would take it back when it does not work as promised. Details and reasons for review: After feeling as if we were tricked by the sales pitch, my husband and I decided to purchase the water system, being told it would help our washing machine and dishwasher run more efficiently with less soap. We felt very pressured by the sales rep into purchasing the system while my husband and I tried to discuss our decision (the sales rep continually interrupted our private conversation to repeat the same statistics over and over). We finally consented, being told that we could return the system, paying only a restock fee (no timeframe was given, leading us to believe there was no limit). We were also told that with the financing we chose, we would be given a 3 month payment-free "trial period" to "make sure the system is doing what we were told it would" (this is actually what the sales rep told us! Verbatim!). After install, we have not noticed any difference in our washing machine or dishwasher. I tried using less soap, as I was told would work, but neither my clothes more dishes came out clean. In the end, we are using the same amount as before, leading me to believe that the system is not performing as promised. After realizing that the system is not doing what we were told it would (only 10 days after signing the contract), and believing we had 3 months from install to declare this, we reached out to the company (left 2 voicemails), but were simply told "You cannot return it. We will not take it back." I researched their reviews on BBB and found someone mentioning a "second rescission period" but could find nothing that says that in the contract. We were never told 3 days and now we are stuck paying for a system that does not work as promised. They claim that customer satisfaction is their #1 priority, but it is not true. If it were, they would take back their system instead of weaseling their way out of keeping their promises. read more

We just had just moved into our brand new house and was looking for a home water system. The next day justin knocked on the door explained who he is and the company he works for. He made his presentation and made me see exactly what was in our drinking water. My husband and I purchased the unit. Let me tell you this is the BEST investment so far. I would not recommend. At first we were happy. We thought we were getting a decent deal and got some "free" soap products as a bonus. The water was softer, but tastes salty unless you have the RO system under the sink. That system tastes great and I use it all of the time. However....... fast forward to a year later and the unit was not installed properly and we have had slow leaks in both the main system in the garage that has ruined the wall and saturated it causing mold from slow leak and slow leak under the sink from RO system that has ruined my cabinet. So now, we found out we over paid, don't have good tasting water unless it's from the RO system, and have property damage from not being properly installed. We like the soaps though, lol. read more
