The old…read moreBackflow Preventer Valve was installed back in the 1990's along with the JEA irrigation meter. 3 weeks ago a guy just showed up at the door (not from Bob's Backflow and Plumbing) and said he is here on behalf of JEA to inspect the Backflow Preventer Valve. Luckily I was home because we were getting ready to leave. I showed him the location and watched him preform the test and he said it fail. One of the valves didn't open. Then he said he could repair it with a new one but I have to pay upfront.... Yes you're right I said "heck no sir I'm not paying you first". * So just added info: JEA's website states they will notify 6 months prior and then 30 days prior before the inspection. I never got any notification...... I called JEA to confirm and yes the inspector at my house was legit. I called two companies for a quote and wow they both were over $1,200. * I called Bob's Backflow & Plumbing and they answered right away. They were very friendly and understanding of the problem and process. They stated they could have someone out next week and would also send a passing letter to JEA for me. Their quote was HALF the cost of the other two companies I called and were much friendlier! * Jaren Hudson from Bob's Backflow came out today and was on time. He did a great job replacing the valve! He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Yes I definitely recommend Bob's Backflow & Plumbing! *** Also as an added note; according to JEA's website they are supposed to send notification 60 days and 30 days by letter and or email prior to coming for the inspection. Homeowner pays $35 for the inspection through the JEA bill. Inspections are done every two years.

I didn't even know! So I'm not happy about my unexpected expense (side-eye to Rheem) but I think I received a great price from PV to get a new one installed. I TRULY cannot recommend PV plumbing enough!! AIDAN AND CARTER ARE JUST SO AMAZING!! save yourself the aggravation and just call PV plumbing (the company that installed my previous heater just back in April of 2023 may have been the reason my heater failed) he used the same old parts but NOT PV plumbing! This company has exceeded my expectations on timing, professionalism, esthetics of the company, sales and excellent plumbers! I just called yesterday and I'm already fixed first thing in the am! Extreme price gouging!!!! During a hard freeze this past winter my pipes froze and burst. My…read morerelative recommended this company so I called for assistance. They came the next day and repaired the damaged pipes and replaced two sub meters. The plumber they sent had never seen sub meters. He said I'd need to call JEA about them. I explained that they were mine and that I'd had them installed years prior. He had no clue where to get them. He went back to his truck after looking over the situation and I came back inside and called a plumbing supply company five minutes from my home that stated they carried them. I went out to his truck and told him where he could get the sub meters and he was sitting there clipping his nails! After a while he left and got the necessary supplies for the job and came back and made the necessary repairs. According the the owner of the company the sub meters cost $237.00 each totaling $474.00 there was four feet of PVC pipe replaced and the charge for the repair was $2,186.91. The repair took a total of three house counting the time the repair person sat in my driveway clipping his nails and doing whatever else he was doing but surely was not working on my repair. He didn't even wrap the piped with insulation after he replaced the broken pipes and meters. He told me I'd need to do that! Their hourly fee for this job works out to approximately $550.00 per hour! In my opinion that's price gouging. I spoke with Spencer, the owner of the company who told me they don't work "buy the hour" they price by the job and reminded me of overhead costs etc. He said he'd look over the paperwork for the job and see what he could do. After numerous attempts to contact him he finally offered me a $200.00 refund and said he'd mail it to me. After countless attempts to get the refund I finally drove to their "office" and in person I requested they write me a check. I waited about twenty minutes and got the $200.00 refund. I will NEVER call this company again!

I was quite taken aback when he accessed my backyard to get to the AC outdoor unit through my living room, and patio (rather than the main door) without asking for my permission first. The unfortunate part, when he got to the back door of my patio, he forcefully pushed and slammed the screen door, nearly damaging it in the process. This man appeared to be extremely agitated or angry, and seemed ready to confront me! He was very loud that my next door neighbor's son came out to check what was going on at my place! Jared, your actions genuinely frightened me and made me feel unsafe! This guy was the second technician from Buehler Air and Plumbing to visit my home in three months regarding my AC issue. The first technician didn't address the root cause of the problem; instead, he claimed to find another issue that wasn't broken just to charge me more ($1200), rather than fixing the actual problem-- a burned wire in the outdoor unit that only required a $273 repair. For context, my AC system is only four years old, and this company replaced the entire system for $7,900 back in 2022. They not only failed to fix the primary issue originally, but they also disrespected my property by trespassing!
