My aunt & uncle booked United DJs for our one year wedding anniversary party/postponed reception in San Jose this past weekend. The whole team was very responsive & flexible - especially when there was some miscommunication with our venue event lead. We were unaware we had to find a dance floor to rent and United DJs offered one to us & worked with our budget even tho it was short notice! We are so grateful they really took the time to talk to us to make sure they gave us what we wanted! Their online planning forms are very organized and easy to use. Jay was our DJ for the actual party and we could not be happier with his work! He was super attentive at making sure he was in the best placement to see the dance floor since our venue was 3 floors & they originally wanted him to be on the second floor balcony - that didn't work out with the cables needed, but he right away made sure to work with the space! We loved how he knew which throwbacks would get people grooving/content all night long and had all of our requested songs ready to play. We had a custom mix for the father daughter dance and it was very easy to email them. Jay also worked well with my brother-in-law who was our emcee. This review is long overdue as we had our wedding back in Nov 2018. We interviewed a number of DJ's as we wanted someone that could collaborate with our vendors, experienced in cooperating with venue guidelines, knew how to read a crowd, and could cater to us and our friends, as well as the older generation. As picky as we were, we finally found our guys. Chris (DJChristylz) and Hector(MC)was everything we wanted and more. We had a few meetings with them to understand their process, and to create a game plan. When the day came, they had already planned everything out with our day of coordinator and everything went smoothly. When my husband and I got engaged, we already knew we wanted Chris to be our DJ at our wedding - based on what we've seen and heard him do. We had a destination wedding and without hesitation, he brought everything we needed/wanted. He was not only our DJ for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, but he was also an amazing MC who knew how to captivate the crowd. I'm in marketing and know what it takes to have a successful event, so I was grateful to be able to have reliable communication with Chris in person, via email or phone to ensure we were always on the same page. He had great recommendations that we didn't even know existed and his attention to detail was much appreciated, especially when we were overwhelmed with other wedding planning details. Chris took the time to get to know us, which helped him provide us with professional guidance based on our preferences and made planning our timeline and choosing music easy. We also appreciated how proactive he was when it came to working with our other vendors to ensure our wedding day would go as smoothly as possible. We were quite open to the music playlist for our wedding; we provided Chris with "do not play" genres and trusted him to choose the rest - and it was perfect. Like most weddings, the age range for our guests was wide, but Chris was able to get everyone tapping their feet and hands and humming/singing along during cocktail hour and everyone on the dancefloor during the reception. Our vendors even mentioned that they have never seen all guests stay and dance until the very end of the reception. The director of the hotel where our wedding was, also mentioned that our wedding had the most elaborate set up they had ever had at the hotel and the entire hotel staff was extremely impressed with all of the details - screens, up lights, our logo, live stream of social media posts with our wedding tags on multiple LED TV screens, music videos and the dry ice machine that made our first dance pictures look amazing. Our ceremony and cocktail hour were both outdoors next to the beach, but thanks to the great sound set up, none of our guests had an issue with hearing us say our vows or the music. While this is the only wedding we'll ever have, we don't doubt that this will be the only large event that we'll have where we would want a DJ and a set up similar to what we had, so we are certain that we will hire United DJs again for our next big event and would highly recommend them for any event - professional/corporate or personal. We booked with Eric, DJ Edubb for our wedding. During our initial consultation he gave us a great starting point of what parts of the wedding we might want specific songs for, I was really thankful he brought that to my attention because I would have totally forgotten that part since we were so busy with other things! He's very genuine and easy going, we were very comfortable with him. We went over our song choices for entourage introduction, first dance, tosses, etc. and played all the songs back to us to make sure it was the right song, right artist, and right version! He even took extra time to make some suggestions and we ended up going for it because it was better. He has an amazing collection of music, including pre-made mixes of both slow and dancing songs. Eric also MCed for us that night and he did a great job introducing our entourage and pronounced everyone's name correctly! I loved how he made the announcement for tapping your glass to make the bride & groom kiss and when it came to our money dance he did a little joke that we only took $20 bills and higher! Haha! Because of that, we mostly got $20s. I told him to play his choice of slow jams during dinner and he picked all the right ones! I kept swaying side to side and singing in between bites because they were ALL my song! When the dancing part finally came, he started it off with the classics for the "oldies." I admit it though, I love to dance to some Achy breaky heart, YMCA, Celebration, etc. at big parties too! He transitioned over to today's hits so well that I didn't even notice, and no I wasn't drunk. I kid you not, the dance floor was full the entire duration of our wedding. There are certain songs and artists out today that I'm not too fond of and I was a little afraid he would play some of them just because they're popular on the radio, clubs, or even school dances. But no, as the night progressed he already knew what kind of crowd, and most especially the bride and groom, he had to entertain, and kept playing the good dancing beats. Joseph had DJ'd another wedding we were guests of and before we knew we were going to be wedding planning we knew he would be our DJ when that time would come around. We selected him as our DJ for our Persian wedding this summer at Grand Island Mansion in Sacramento. He not only helped us come up with a good realistic timeline but also with our song selections for our ceremony and reception, he is very pleasant to work with, he will deliver exactly what you want and if you ask for suggestions he is good with helping you out too.
