My experience at 524 W Greenwood Ave has been some of the most unnecessarily stressful of my 50 + years as a renter. I was a homeowner a few times during this time also I am very aware of the responsibilities of an owner and as a renter. Roberts client, and defacto mother/tenant have made it nearly impossible for Robert to have managed my tenancy properly. I want to believe, given the appropriate opportunity, I would have experienced a more favorable outcome. Robert, to my knowledge, has not been directly involved in the nefarious actions of his clients. The turning off of my heat and hot water on several occasions in the past month. The hiding of my trash cans. The theft of my mail and subsequent use of my bankcard by a family member. The constant harassment, verbal assaults, physical threats and finally lying regarding my exclusive use of a patio and then in retaliation, excluding it as a punishment. I believe Robert was acting in good faith regarding his client. However I have and continue to suffer greatly at the hands of his client. I can only close my eyes, click my heels together 3 times and repeat, "there's no place like home," and hope a house falls on top of his client. When I open my eyes I will be transported to the home of my dreams, on 3/2/2026, far, far away from this scary horrible place. I will pray for the next tenant!

    I am posting this to clarify my experience regarding our rental and my interactions with Chris…read moreHelmich after my previous review was removed. Chris stated that he offered us assistance and a resolution to our financial hardship. That is simply not accurate. The only communication we received was a reminder that rent was due, along with notice of a $56 late fee if payment was not made on time, followed by the statement that after six days we would receive an infraction notice. At no point were we offered an extension, a payment arrangement, or any form of accommodation. Additionally, the unit owner never reached out to us directly to discuss any alternatives or support. During our tenancy, there were serious maintenance concerns that were not addressed in a timely or satisfactory manner. When our apartment experienced flooding and the air conditioning unit was deteriorating, Chris was nowhere to be found. The A/C installation was so poor that you could literally see daylight around the casing. The flooring, which is supposed to be white, appeared black due to the condition, and the state of the oven was unacceptable. We documented everything with photos and videos. My mother, who worked in property management for over 10 years, personally inspected the unit and identified multiple issues that should not exist in a properly maintained rental. There should never be mold present in a water filter--period. We were also told there was a separate heating unit, yet we were left without a functioning heat source while the apartment was extremely cold. This is not just an inconvenience--it is a violation of California housing standards. Under California Code of Regulations, Title 25, Section 34, rental units must be provided with heating facilities capable of maintaining a minimum temperature of 70°F in all habitable rooms, and those systems must be permanently installed and maintained in safe working condition. Portable heaters do not satisfy this legal requirement. We were further told that the overall condition of the property was "not their responsibility," yet our lease binds us to their management, and we were refused contact information for the unit owner when we asked to address these concerns directly. At this point, we are requesting that all communication be handled in writing via email so there is clear documentation. Phone calls are not acceptable. This ensures there is an accurate record of what is said and prevents any misrepresentation of conversations. I will be sharing documentation so others can understand what our experience actually was. This is not about "image" or "quality control," but about accountability and ensuring tenants are provided with safe, habitable living conditions as required by law.

I had a terrible tenant that MF gave a free pass to for his personal reasons and when Amy stepped up, it was a relief. She was a true professional. Dealt with the tenant's shenanigans and tricks and had access to legal advice so we always knew what to do. When the tenant started acting crazy and said she would only vacate the property at midnight, Amy rose to the challenge and made sure the keys were handed back, something no other manager would have ever done. She has a tremendous work ethic and is an excellent realtor when it came to selling the property. After years of dealing with awful, lazy property managers, Amy is one of a kind in this business.

We felt it was important to find a company that represented the Landlord as well as the Tenants. Landlord protection and compliance is important but so is ensuring low turnover in your buildings. Yvonne and her team at Superior Management & Realty Services stood out as they had the perfect mix of Owner and Tenant representation. Right away we could tell she and her staff were knowledgeable and up to date on recent laws and compliance. They were able to find ways to improve our properties, ensure rents move with the market, provide monthly reporting and are always responsive to any questions and/or inquiries. Most importantly, Superior Management & Realty Services are proactive by instantly notifying us of any changes with the tenants as well as necessary needs for the property to ensure "pride of ownership." She is rude condescending and treats tenants very disrespectfully. I've been trying to reach anyone else in that management company to file a complaint and haven't been allowed. They are the worse management company I have ever dealt with. They have NO CONSIDERATION over their tenants living conditions. JUST FOND SOMEONE ELSE TO RENT FROM!!! Your company is NOT a tenant friendly company! Nobody was trying to prevent any repairs! Let's it straight we asked how much longer it was going to take because it did disrupt us!! We work at night and sleep during the day, there was NO NOTICE posted ahead of time as per usual with your company! When I tried to talk to Wendy I got yelled at hung up on and was denied even talking to anyone or even get my question across!!! We have been without a dryer for almost a month and when I tried calling the first time all I got was we will get to it when we get to it, that's not very friendly to your tenants!! So if you're going to reply at least reply with facts!! Your company won't even reply to my emails of a appt request which I was told by WENDY that I had to do in order to talk to ANYONE in your office......that was almost a month ago and still haven't even received a reply!!!
