The fridge came damaged and then took a while to get a replacment which was a bit of a pain due to supply issues but they communicated with us and we finally got the kitchen of our dreams completed! I was replacing my washing machine and the deliverypeople inadvertently removed my dryer and brought in another dryer. I was on line at the time and not paying attention. When I noticed what had happened, they took the new dryer back out. then they took out the old machine and returned my functioning dryer to my home. When I called the store, there was little apology and I requested purchasing a downgrade of my former machine. When they returned three days later, they brought up an upgrade - NOT he machine I ordered. But what was most shocking was when I called them and asked them why they had not delivered the machine I wanted, no one knew anything about it. Then the person on the phone said "We deliver the wrong appliances all the time because the numbers on Electrolux washer and dryer are so similar." I couldn't believe he said that. I was stunned to which I said, "Knowing that, why are you not more careful?" I ended up tipping the delivery men who worked hard and the machine cost me much more than it would had I bought it from my local store. There was barely an apology about them.

I have to question AG's decision to affiliate with ACE Hardware. I bought an item from ACE Hardware directly via their website and had it shipped to their store. I also purchased a few items directly from A.G. Again pleasant experience, real hard working knowledgeable folks in here. It really is a call back to the hardware stores of yesteryear at A.G. Well the item I purchased from Ace's website did not meet my needs and I tried to initiate a return with A.G. But they sent me packing and to deal directly with ACE. I understand it's ACE policy and I technically did not pay for them for that item. I just feels like if the local stores are going to accept shipments from ACE they should be able to initiate an Return Merchant Authorization as well. I called ACE numerous times and even Tweeted at them, but I was blown off. So now I'm out $40 dollars for a tool I don't use and could be sold as new again. They did not honor their 30 day return policy. Yes, I understand we are in "uncertain" times, but it just felt off putting. I had to buy a mini-fridge from Home Depot recently the unit I got was defective out of the box. Home Depot took the fridge back and refunded my money post-haste. Markets and customers change and I guess I will take my business elsewhere, but it feels like ACE has some really outdated policies and procedures in handling customer disputes.

I love that I can walk in there with something in my hand and say "my husband told me to get this and the thing that hooks to it" and they know exactly what I need or what. Same thing with odd projects. We walk in and tell them what we are trying to do and they are very helpful! Only bad part is that sometimes I get stopped walking into the store and they take me right to the section I need to be in, and then I lose out on the opportunity to wander around the store. I think their sales would skyrocket if they'd let their customers wander about a little before they help them.

Went to O'Connor today and was immediately assisted by a pleasant young man with a clipboard. He found the grill in store (same price as the other stores) and rang up the order saying O'Connor would deliver it in a few days, no charge. Amazing! It was like the service we used to get in America before the 2020 scamdemic changed everything. Definitely shop here if you remember what good service was like years ago!

Yesterday, I had a problem returning used motor oil. I was told (correctly) that they can only accept oil that they sell with a receipt. All I had was an old "Master Mechanic" jug from when they were still True Value. On my way out, after I had picked up some new oil, I spoke with Kevin (store manager). He said, "I know you have been coming here forever, let me see what I can do." Seriously, a store where they recognize you is a treasure these days. They consistently go above any other store to make this customer happy. Last fall, I dropped my snowblower off for a repair and was told 8 weeks. So I was pleasantly surprised when I got a call 3 days later to come pick up my machine. They had swapped out the carburetor. I was a bit surprised at the price, but they got it done before the first snowstorm. So I was grateful they got it done right the first time. Expensive, but still cheaper and faster than paying for a plow service. When the people at a store do everything to win your trust, a big bill is a lot easier to take.
