I wanted to give this place less stars; but, they did deliver the portable toilet where I asked when another company I called dropped theirs off on the street in front of my house. They ignored my request to call one hour before arrival because I won't be at the location. They called when they arrived, could't wait for me, and left the portable on the side walk in front of the property. When I called to complain they said they couldn't do anything till tomorrow. When I said I wouldn't be responsible for something dumped in front of my property they yelled at me. I calmly told them what to do with their toilet. Strangely, though they couldn't send someone out to move the portable from the street to the garage till the next day, they had no problem getting someone out in less than an hour to pick it up and haul it away. Granted the location I requested delivery in was difficult to find; which, is why I asked for one hour notice so I could be there when it was delivered. When I called United Site Services I intentionally arrived at the site early in the morning. Like the other company they called me only when they arrived. The delivery driver was nice and he placed the container where I asked. Other than that and a slightly lower rental rate then the first company the praise stops. This company was reluctant to properly maintain the potty. Often they would miss their schedule weekly cleaning. When we'd call and complain that the box was stinking up the neighborhood, the dispatcher was rude and refused my request for my prepaid service. Then, when the service technician finally arrived he would scribble in a phony date in between the current one and the last one to cover his butt. If that isn't enough, the real deal breaker was the fact that this company supply's one-ply toilet paper. That right friends, expect to use one-ply toilet paper in a portable toilet that has no running water to wash your hands. As far as I'm concerned one-ply toilet paper is a deal breaker in any situation. I don't return to or recommend frequenting any establishment that can't afford the simple courtesy of providing two-ply toilet paper to their employees or clients in venues where running water is amply available. In my opinion, providing one-ply toilet paper for anyone in a venue without soap and running water should be illegal. read more

Our toilet hasn't been serviced in 3 weeks. Its foul, overflowing and full of flies. We've called multiple times and they still haven't serviced it. We're supposed to have it done twice a week. We needed a porta potty for a job site. Setup was easy, delivery was flawless. It was serviced for a while and then it abruptly stopped getting serviced. We've had it on the site from April 2020 until October 2020. We would watch the service people drive by and not even stop, just look and drive away. When I scheduled the pickup due to poor service (aka none at all), the company could not care less. Unbelievable. We're paying $212 per month (really every 28 days). Just use Andy Gump ($114/month). Impeccable service and always clean porta potties. read more

THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST. if I could leave a negative 100 I would. We rented a unit for a weekend event. Dropped off on Thursday AM. Noon on Friday we returned to find the unit being hauled away as we were preparing for our event. Driver gave us excuse that we called it off. 1st lie. Said we would have to call office to reschedule and cost additional to set back up. He then drove away. On Monday a second driver pulls up wondering where the unit is. I am demanded to pay the full amount for the rental, and still receiving invoices a year later after I was told "sorry, we will nix the balance" So I payed $1,700 for the worst service and continued lies. Like my second Yelp review.... This company tried to take us to small claims court over a porta-potty that we actually paid for for an extra month because they didn't come pick it up on time and we were tying to avoid a squabble. A year later they tried to take us to small claims court because apparently their system wasn't able to match the payments correctly and they were too incompetent to listen and/or figure it out. Regardless we talked to their lawyers, showed them the documentation and they said it was taken care of. In the afternoon On wednesday, May 1st, i ran into an employee named Robert at our construction site in poway. He was servicing the porta potties. I was shocked to see how much he cared because he was scrubbing the floor and seats of the toilets. I asked  Robert how long he has been working and he said only a few weeks and that he was technically still in training. I work for a general contractor and unfortunately I have several projects with United Site Services as the temporary facilities provider. I have never been more upset, frustrated, and confused working with this disorganized unprofessional SCAM company. They confirm delivery and charge your card but then they don't show up to deliver the order, leaving you scrambling to find temp facilities for your project last minute. One of our storage units was scheduled to be picked up June 15th and we called to confirm they picked it up, (yes we did pick it up!) but they actually left it on site and continued to charge us for 2 months after. We noticed this at the beginning of September and 2 weeks in I am still struggling to get them to send me some proof of the refund for their mistake. When they make these mistakes, you would expect a refund automatically, but you have to call and speak with bumbling customer "care" staff who lead you in endless circles. Good luck getting any receipts - I have spent countless hours (no joke!!) on the phone with them trying to get them to help me with receipts or refund requests. I have updated my contact info with them more than 4 times but they still ask me every single time "oh so receipts are getting emailed to *person who no longer works at the company and hasn't for years* right?" and every time I correct them -they still can't get it right. When they do finally send receipts after holding their hand through the entire process, they have no identifying information so you still have to call them to figure out which project it goes to. They constantly have "system issues" where half of our projects are on their "old system" and half of our projects are on their "new system" so when I call to ask about projects they don't even know which system the project is in!!!! Wasting their customer's time and being shady with their transactions seems to be the only things they are actually good at I could go on but please heed the reviews and if at all possible go with a different company. Save yourself the extreme inconvenience and horrible customer service experience. read more

As others have said "If it is possible to United Site Services less than one star I would". Do not use this company! As a long term customer of over 5 years we are ending our relationship with USS. We are contractors we have had several portable toilets in the field this year. Recently in Saratoga we neede to do a short term rental (less than one week). This worked out to a total of $688.52. We called their accounting office to verify this and they replied that "Yes it is". No consideration of a long term customer who has several of their units in the field. Now remember this is for a portable toilet, called a outhouse by others. Uses no electricity, no moving parts but most construction sites need them. We are converting the USS units over to their competiton. Too bad, $688.52 for a weeks use is ridiculous, I'm sure they have lots of other customers willing to pay their charges. read more

I have never had so many problems with a site toilet, from cleaning to billing, more than twice the price of the company I replaced them with. I will not use them again, I still have to call back to get credit on the cleaning charged 2 days after it was dropped off with an every other week cleaning schedule!! Amazing. You can't review United Site Services on Google. I think they are unlisted. So I'm here on Yelp. They refused to empty our food cart pod toilet randomly which lead to the smell of feces permeating our small pod. I tried to get them to pick up the unit. I called them about 8 times of the course of 2 weeks with urgent messages. They promised to pick up the unit every time. The toilet sat there getting fuller and fuller- the smell of rotting feces was unbearable and we had to close the toilet which is a health violation. I reported them to the Multnomah County Health Department. We finally managed to call corporate headquarters and get the unit picked up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. TLDR: they are sheltering their image from all their bad reviews and are likely to leave you in violation of health codes. read more

I've used their services a handful of times, the initial call to get a quote is always been pleasant, probably cause they want my business. But the last couple of times after the call they have been non-responsive, left toilets on site way pass the pick up date. I got in trouble with the city because they did not pick up their toilets as scheduled. Also the toilets they have given recently have been totally jacked up to the point where I'm afraid they will try to say I did it and charge me. So I took a ton of pictures beforehand with a geo tag. The last straw for me was then I asked for a quote and the pricing was nearly DOUBLE the amount I paid last month for same EXACT order. Even the rep said that's a major difference and was also shocked, so she said she would get back to me once she checked with the manager to make sure it was correct. If I could give negative stars I would. We have used United Site Services for years but lately they just seem to have given up on quality customer service. They have not cleaned the 2 toilets we have on a jobsite for 3 weeks now The toilet's have maggots in them and the condo association is now complaining about the smell. Tried to speak to someone in charge but they all work from home now and no one is ever available. They keep telling me the driver says that he has cleaned them when, in fact, no one ever shows up. Finally had to have them remove the toilets today and hire another smaller, more expensive, company to bring in new ones. They lost my payment and had to cancel and reissue another check. Then after a month that they received it they cashed it and started sending me bills and threats to go into collections. When I called in and spoke with Michelle she was extremely condescending and stated that they would never lose a check. She went as far as stating that I may not have had sufficient funds to cover the check. When I advised her that I had a copy of the check that was deposited/cashed by them in their bank she changed her tone somewhat and asked me to email it to her. After finally "finding" the check which actually had my account number at their company clearly written on it, she emailed me back saying I have zero balance. No apology, No sorry we made a mistake, No sorry for the inconvenience, or the multiple bills, threats to collections...nothing. Use a different company you will thank me later. read more

We are doing our remodeling and our contractor ordered a portable toilet for the workers with this company. The service stared on 9/6 but first bill came in at $468.73 (it shows a full month charge from 9/1 -9/28). While we complained and asking contractor to clarify why the bill is so high. The 2nd bill came in today at $394.92. We were told their policy is to charge at least 2 full months and they count 28 days a month, not a calendar month, plus everything being charged upfront. They said these are THEIR policy. This is crazy, no different from a robber. Our project only started for little over a month but we already owe almost $900 for a remote toilet! We asked our contractor to cancel this service today. Other companies charge only a little over $100+ per calendar month with pro-rated usage days only. We refuse to pay 2 full months for non-used services. Please be aware and stay away from this company! read more

I used to use them exclusively. I generally have 3-10 units in use. I work in construction. I stopped using them in 2017 when a not new corporate policy made them stop providing the seat covers unless you specifically ask for them and pay extra for them. This was obviously a health and safety issue even in Porte more Covid times. If they had at least called to warn me I would have been more understanding. They just stopped bringing them and then wanted to bill more for them on the next service after I noticed the issues and called and learned of their new cost saving policy that way. i didn't use them again until last week. I took over a job from another contractor that already had two United Site Services units on site. I thought it would be nice to just move them to my account instead of a Pickup and then a drop from a different company. I called in and switched them to my companies account. They provide no email confirmation, text confirmation, or any confirmation number for this (their standard practice). I have call history and conversation length but that's all. This morning they can for pickup with no notice. Pickup had been called in by the previous GC after I switched them to my account. They claimed they could not find any record of my call to switch accounts. When the driver showed up for pickup I asked them not to take them and provided this information. He said ok. Then I get a call from the GC about 30 mins later that they're being picked up. I call my foreman and the driver and ask them to not be taken and the driver this time says he has to follow dispatch. I call the 800 number and do the same thing I d did before but it doesn't get out to the driver. I got the drivers direct dispatch number from him and called that person. She said she couldn't leave them because Pickup was already setup and we would need to talk to their customer care department too sort it out. Being about 80 minutes in to this situation at that time I let them know to just pick them up and If bring two out from a competitor. At this point she tried to refuse to pick them up and said we didn't need to speak to customer care. Then I reiterated 4 times to pick them up because I was setting up replacements from another company. She called back twice to try and convince me to keep them despite the repeated issues, poor service, and poor treatment. I later got a call from Easton Massachusetts. the guy said he was director of sales for my area (the Bay Area of California). This seems odd to me for a service industry. At this point I've got about two hours into the mess. He offer s me a free month. I say thanks for the callback and the wire but I already have them setup with a competitor. The worst company I have ever had to deal with bar none. They consistently don't show up to swap out containers. Their drivers lie about access so that they can skip deliveries. And you can't even speak to anyone locally to try to work out any problems. Every listed phone numbers all go through a call center and you end up talking with a person out of state that can't do anything for you except send "someone" an email. From the very first contact United Site Services has provided excellent customer service and has absolutely exceeded my expectations as well as surpass the competition! I needed a (one) portable potty right away. I went online late one night and filled out requests for service from every company that was close to the city of San Francisco. Let me say first though that most places said that it would take 3 days to fill the order. Well, the very next day I got a call from Earl "Löcust" Butler at United Site Services and he was professional, friendly and efficient and the next morning at 9am a potty was delivered! I didn't know exactly where I wanted it and let me tell you the driver/delivery man went above and beyond dealing with my uncertainty as to where it should go. I still have it. It's been approximately 3 weeks and they come out to empty it and clean it with a clean soapy bucket and towels every time. I would recommend this company to anyone in need of an alternative potty. I rarely take the time to write reviews. But the 2 stars here on Yelp have been bothering me for 3 weeks. So, now I am putting that bother to rest and just know that it's hard enough dealing with the public in a retail manner, but to have to also clean and take away their bodily waste as well makes even more of a challenge. Can I do zero stars? Constantly missing service dates (more often than they show up). Calling for service usually works, unless they are up against a holiday weekend (you know, when you need one serviced). Covid charges, but didn't service hand sanitizer. To top it off, after cancelling (due to months of not getting the service we were paying for) - no refund, no apology... Then we got a collections notice.. After showing them records of paid bills, they said they'd "investigate" which was weeks ago. Do yourself a favor and use a local company. read more

two other companies i've preferred using in the past have been bought by united, so I come back to expecting their size would result in good service at a good price. They wanted me to approve the sale without giving me the price (feels unethical). Finally got the quote two days later after twice calling in to correct the email they typed in. There was a mistake in the delivery fee quoted and the monthly rate was more than double another company. Neither competitive on price, nor service. My experience is that United does not deserve to dominate the market, and customers should support the smaller companies so they are not so tempted to sell-out. read more

I agree with the last customer- if lower than a one star was possible I would give it. I have been in the construction business for over 20 years and have used many companies for Site Services. If you are a builder, beware. I signed up for two job sites- toilets, fencing, etc. Upon signing up I gave them my company credit card for monthly automatic billing. Each month a charge appeared on my monthly statement. MONTHS go by and they inform me that I have a balance. How??? They had my credit card that they were automatically billing. Their explanation: We have two accounting systems for different items.... Customers are not aware of the accounting practices of the company. Next, I spent months trying to get a complete statement with all invoices so that I could try to reconcile their accounting mess. Noone ever sent me a complete statement. Today I requested a complete statement from ALL of their systems and now I'll spend hours trying to sort it out. Also- like another previous customer, they do not pick up items when requested and continue to bill for them. A complete SCAM. I was given a number which I thought was a great price. I talked to several different employees. Not one was clear that that was a monthly cost. Their prices are insane. We have been getting our portable toilet serviced by them for about a year now for the most part the service has been fairly good. I'm not the type of person to complain about anything but my employees were complaining that the person who comes to service the bathroom has not been doing a proper job. For the 4th visit now he has not scrubbed and cleaned the toilet (like how he use to) sometimes no toilet paper either the bowl barely has any chemical water. It has been going on for about 2-3 months now. All he does is vacuum the bowl and put little water in and leaves he no longer scrubs and washes the bathroom any more . It really starts to smell!!!!!!!! I had called customer service today morning informing them of this and the representative had promised me he will properly clean and maintain the toilet starting today once again the toilet is the exact same I pay $68 a month and I no longer receive the quality service I use to the toilet is very unsanitary. My question to the individual that comes and cleans is why did he stop properly cleaning ? Does he think that we may not notice? I have pictures to prove my point (he apparently cleaned today afternoon) . The bathroom has no sanitary smell it use to after cleaning. The management doesn't care either about customers ! This is not acceptable ! The representative had promised me today would be clean surprisingly the promise was not fulfilled. I called them to send the guy back and redo the bathroom.
