Dr. Sherfey replaced my hip 3 months ago and my hip does feel better but now I am over an inch taller on my new hip side so I am doomed to a life of ugly Frankenstein shoes to correct it. I first met Dr. Nasser after having rotator cuff surgery at PRMC in 2018. He offered me the opportunity to transfer to his Acute Rehabilitation unit, which I accepted. WOW Am I glad I did! His Acute Rehabilitation program at PRMC far surpasses my previous experiences with Rehabilitation, for which I was extremely grateful! At that point he invited me to become one of his patients at AVORS. I was reluctant to change from another local group, whom I had been working with for over 10 years. I have many orthopedic and pain challenges, resulting from having had Polio as a child many years ago. I had built up very positive working relationships with the Nurse Practitioners at the other group over the years. Following cervical surgery in June, ehile in the hospital, I asked to speak to Dr. Nasser to find out if I could, once more, go to his rehabilitation program and then to become a patient of his at AVORS upon discharge. I am so glad I decided to change whom I was seeing for Help with spinal pain--I soon learned that was one of my best decisions! Dr. Nasser and his entire staff are quite responsive to my needs and questions. He has an extensive support system, far superior to where I had been going for about 10 years. Every single staff member listens and responds in a timely manner--what an eye opening experience! My one concern? The wait time to go into my appointment with Dr. Nasser seems to be really long--I kept track at my last appointment, and waited for approximately one hour. There is always a long wait. I often wonder how many patients are given the same appointment time. This frustrates me, especially ehen I am in pain. I do realize the benefits far outweigh this concern, but wish they would re-examine their patient scheduling procedures. It is probably a small price to pay for the breadth and depth of support they provide. read more

I echo the comments about the staff. I wanted a copy of my lab results and they said I needed to make an appointment. I dont want to spend the time and money to make an unnecessary appointment. They refused to mail me a copy or have a nurse phone me with results. I have been to other offices where they do provide a copy and they do call you rather than make you waste time with an appointment. My first appointment cost 855 (billed to insurance) so you would think they would have the courtesy to share MY lab results without paying more. I had to pay 5.95 to order from the lab. This review has nothing to do with the doctor. He was fine. But the administrative bureaucracy is frustrating. Be prepared for frustration when you deal with staff. read more

Dr. Nasser, Thomas is absolutely great. As a United States Navy Veteran during OEF and OIF he is great with our Veterans so if you are one Care in the Community is the way to go with him and his beautiful staff. They are absolutely great and caring. They listen to your issues even how busy they are. Again they are really busy because of the Caliber of care they give so expect long waits but it is worth the wait. Love these guys and my issues are way more tolerable because of them. I was on hold for one hour and twelve minutes.....I finally called with my husband's phone and got through to someone after 35 minutes of hold time. This place really has HORRIBLE manners....they are pretty much the worst. I am 25 years old and after meeting with Dr. Nasser he informed me that I have five bulging discs which unknowing to me it is actually a herniated disc this is not normal for a 25-year-old! Not knowing the circumstances of my injuries of course I'm gonna go to a doctor that is educated on the subject asking Dr. Nasser what I should do? What are my treatment options? What am I gonna look like in 25 more years when I'm 50 he said " well I couldn't tell you because from your MRI everything looks good I don't know why you're in pain" not a good experience! After his office called and asked how the app went they offered to send me more information to help me via email I NEVER GOT THAT EMAIL or a call back nothing HORRIBLE doctors office! By looking at the patients this medical office is directly using the surrounding community to expose them to experimental medical treatments and drug use BE AWARE DO NOT GO!! I have read other reviews and wonder why some people give low ratings. Myself, I have had no problems with the office staff or Dr. Antebi. The office staff has been friendly and have done a good job with my appointments. I had questions about leg length discrepancies after my hip replacement surgery and Dr. Antebi told me to be patient and it would change with the healing process. Sure enough, after 4 and a half months I am feeling much better and don't notice the discrepancy like before. And the doctor told me, if needed he would send me for a custom insert for my shoe. Poorly run. Checked in for a 10:30 appointment, ahead of schedule, as requested. Two and a half hours later, still sitting in a room, sweating. Quite uncomfortable. It seems they heavily overbook. Not sure if the doctor had sufficient time to adequately evaluate medical conditions, or give adequate advice. Said I needed a cortisone shot.....make an appointment. Dr. Tennant took care of my broken leg when I was admitted to Antelope Valley Hospital. He's extremely nice and professional and did a great job on my leg. When I went to the office for follow up everyone was over-the-top nice and friendly, professional and helpful. The only problem I had there was the wait time. The waiting room was s packed with people waiting to be seen. There are several doctors in the practice and the number of people in the waiting room was a little disconcerting. The actual doctors at this group are amazing, well versed and good at what they do. But the rest of the office is HORRIBLE. I've had two different experiences here for two different issues over the last 5 years. Both of them bad because of the staff/office environment. It's just so unfortunate that my medical group uses them for almost everything and getting referred elsewhere is nearly impossible. Let's start with the overly crowded, standing room only waiting room. This is an office with orthopedic patients in pain and you have them standing around in the lobby because you have a hundred other people packed in like sardines. And don't even get me started on the rude, incompetent office staff who screw up so bad and them blame YOU and your medical group or primary doctor for the mess up, don't apologize and make you do their jobs for them. I should not have had to make a million phone calls on my own at the last minute because the staff dropped the ball and failed to admit it. And then to cancel my appointment and act as if it's my fault? I took a whole day off of work, lost wages and their staff doesn't care a bit. I'm already hurt and losing work, and now I have to request ANOTHER day to make up for this office's incompetence? I think the problem here is that their office is too small and they are taking on way too many patients with the resources and people they have available. They have also hired a bunch of idiots. Sorry, but I can't think of a better word. And the vending machines in the waiting room? Tacky. Nothing says, "You're going to be here for 3 hours, so buy a Soda and Candy to keep your energy up," like two giant vending machines in a crowded waiting room. I heard another man say, "This waiting room feels like the visiting room at the prison, rude staff and all." Maybe it's time to fire the people who can't do their jobs and hire people who can and who can treat patients with respect instead of blaming them for everything. And, as I've sat in my exam room waiting, I've heard the staff talking and gossiping, and I've overheard entire conversations with doctors and patients about their care because the rooms aren't sound proof. Its just...wrong. Honest question: How can I trust my health and well being to an office that is supported by such incompetence, no matter how good the doctors may be? They clearly have plenty of business, maybe that revenue should be invested in better facilities and staff. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because of the doctors. Seriously, though, before I agree to surgery, I'm seriously considering talking to other surgeons because I'm not sure I can trust the office staff to make sure my care is adequate. Seriously, why am I doing their jobs for them? I can only do what I know to do. What am I missing or is falling through, likely a lot. I mean, this isn't some silly consumer retail issue because my headphones don't work. This is my health, my ability to WALK for the rest of my life. The staff here takes no responsibility and then treats patients as if it's their fault. You can't miss the numerous conversations because the place is so loud and crowded. I wanted to post photos of the crowded waiting room, but that would be an invasion of patient privacy, so I'm not going to do that...but trust me. It's disgusting to see people on crutches or in clear pain standing around because there's no place to sit. Also, parking here is awful. The parking lot is also full of students from the school upstairs. Even with an increased number of disabled spots, the place is always packed. You have disabled people parking across the street just to hobble over to a doctor's office that forces you to stand for a long time and be treated like dirt. So many people, including student, illegally taking the disabled parking and nobody enforcing it for the benefits of disabled patients. Remember, this is an orthopedic office full of patients with mobility issues. They need somebody at the building enforcing/towing the illegal parking and to keep the students from using patient parking. C'mon Drs. Sherefy, Heller, Nasser, Tennant, etc... get your heads together and fix this. Maybe it's time to move to a better office? It's definitely time to hire competent staff. I'm reading some of the highly rated reviews and I don't get it. But back to the prison waiting room comment... it's actually fairly accurate, seeing as every time I've been there, I've seen the Sheriffs or Dept of Corrections officers there escorting inmates through the lobby. Don't get me wrong, inmates deserve medical care, too, but the irony is rich. read more

I was bit by a dog. Okay, it was my dog. We rescued her in July. In December I thought she was "mine." I overstepped. I know it was my fault. I'm an experienced dog owner but I screwed up. The ER at AV hospital said I needed to let it heal. I seriously had a hole in my face. My GP asked me to text a pic. He texted it to Dr. Heller. My savior. His office called me a half hour later and scheduled me for surgery the next day. I had surgery and, 3 months later, nobody can believe the results. I can see the difference of course, but most can't tell I had any injury. I know if Dr. Heller had not responded I'd be a deformed mess. Can't recommend this facility, and especially Dr. Heller enough. I can't post pictures because I still can't look at the initial wound without feeling faint. Trust me. You can't go wrong. P.S. Although many may think me crazy, I still have the dog and she is nothing but a lovebug. read more

Dr. Nasser is very helpful and compassionate about helping me improve my pain and quality of life. With his help, I am finding ways to feel better that don't yet involve surgery or being incapacitated during treatment. It is a busy place and sometimes I don't get to be seen at my appointment time but know it is because previous patients got the time they needed with Dr Nasser and I will get the same treatment when my turn comes. These are so far from the truth, I have had Dr Nasser for almost one year and only saw her twice, despite many phone calls to her office after I went to three different hospitals and never got a call back from her or her office. She never exam me the two times I have seen her. I had to report her to her supervisor that was how I was able to see her the second time. I always saw the NP. She had order the wrong dose antibiotics for me. She never fully explained my condition so I can get the proper authorization I needed to care for my condition. I really did not appreciate the slow care I recieved from her and her staff. It is like pulling a tooth getting referrals from her office. I would never recommend her, or her office to anyone in the Lancaster Ca area. read more
