If you don't want to do your job, that's not the customer's problem. I've been coming to this post office regularly and have never felt the need to leave a review before, but today's experience was unacceptable. I came in for a simple transaction and said hello when I walked in. Instead of being greeted professionally, the employee looked at me with a blank, lifeless expression, as if I didn't exist, and simply told me to wait, even though there was no one else there. She gave me a condescending attitude and made me feel as though I didn't know what I was doing. When it was finally my turn, she seemed more interested in avoiding the transaction than helping me and told me I could just use the kiosk instead. Customer service requires basic respect and professionalism, and unfortunately I experienced neither today. Living in Eastport it is wonderful to have such a good post office nearby. Service is always friendly, fast and efficient. People working there have always been knowledgeable about mailing options for me. being a small business owner it's important to work with people that know what they're talking about. my wife and I also renewed our passports there and the service was quick and easy. I saw a variety of reviews but as far as I'm concerned they are a 5+ star USPS location. read more

Rude staff. Stood in line at the counter for 7 minutes behind 3 other customers (who knows how long they'd been standing there) then I got impatient and loudly coughed, to which I got an annoyed "BE RIGHT THERE!" I had purchased postage online and must have entered the weight of my package incorrectly. The lady helping me up front gave me attitude when I asked her how many ounces my weight was under, and when I nicely asked her if I could just pay the difference rather than go home, print a new label, then come all the way back to drop the package off again. She told me I couldn't pay the difference at the post office and that I had to do so online. I didn't believe her, but didn't want to deal with her rudeness anymore. I went to a family-owned general store in my neighborhood that has a post office in the back of the store and they were able to help me. They worked with me to re-weigh my package (I was off an ounce) and they told me there was no difference in postage cost. Go figure. Won't be returning to the post office on Legion Ave. I'll just stick with the family-owned shop that cares about their customers. read more

My visit to this post office went very smoothly today. On top of that, the employees were friendly, helpful, and seemed to have good attitudes. I have had a PO Box here since 2008. Somehow every year they increase the price. Went up from $28 to around $35. Bummer...I guess since now everybody pays their bills online, cutbacks are forcing them to increase their prices for everything! Oddly located off of Legion Ave in between an industrial park and residential houses, this particular branch is not open Saturdays and has limited parking. People that live directly across the street must have a hellava time with incoming traffic and customers parking in front of their houses. Be forewarned also, I have witnessed some surly attitudes in the Customer Service Department here! I would advise having all your info in order before you get in line to ship something. read more

Very rude. Customer service should be added to the training. Its not about what you say, its about how you you say it!!! I definitely came in before they closed. Lady would not help me, she finished her personal conversation first then proceeded to help me. Had an attitude the whole time helping. I asked a question just to verify what I was purchasing, of course she tried to dumb it in down, when she could've just answered the question like an adult. If you dnt have to go here dont. this post office facility has a big issue regarding losing packages.and never finding them with lame excuses such as blaming other facilities, or oops your package was sent back to sender but we forgot to process it through our system first. read more

I especially want to thank the woman who was directing the traffic in and out of the post office on Monday 12/07/20 and taking making sure visitors were a safe distance from each other. She also took the time to assist people including helping me with a priority package mailings. She did all of that with a holiday spirit snd I'm sure she was smiling behind her mask!! I dropped a package off here on December 3.. handed it to the postal worker standing at the door since the line was out the door and it was a prepaid label. Package was never scammed in, and it's not been 9 days and tracking hasn't updated, no one knows where my package is.. and because I just handed it to the postal worker I got not receipt. This is absolutely ridiculous. read more

The actual post office is a little slow for my taste, but my mail carrier Steve is fabulous! He takes care to notify me when I have a package, he delivered mail in a box before I was able to get a mailbox, and he doesn't seem to mind bringing me endless, heavy Amazon boxes! read more

Feeling ripped-off. $93 in shipping (including $4 for insurance) on $153 of goods. You would think that the officer would have realized that the cheerier lamb before her did not understand what was going on. A simple question would have snapped me back to reality and chosen other than prioriry mail as my stuff REALLY DID NOT have to get there in 3 days. Don't dare have lots of things to send without feeling like you are going to get your house egged later. Have every single item prepared (customs forms if needed, everything labeled) unless you want attitude. You'll probably get attitude even if you have things right. Don't even try to crack a smile and get friendliness back. Like 40% of the staff are ok, the rest are painful. read more

Terrible service - no attempt to assist customers in any way.

Any brides or anyone sending custom envelopes/invitations that you are looking to have hand stamped so that they don't have to get marked up by going through a machine- DO NOT GO HERE. This one worker first tried to tell me that my custom stamps (spent a lot of money on these silly things but that's what we do as brides), probably wouldn't be enough for the weight of the envelope. I said I sure hope it's enough I don't want to add another random stamp on my custom envelopes (completely defeating the purpose of them) when they have only one piece of paper inside. She weighed it and it was fine. I tell her I'd like the hand stamp so that they didn't have to go through the machine that will mark them up. She tells me there is "supposed to be" a $0.21 fee for each hand stamp which was fine with me. She started to handle someone else and passed me down to the next worker's register. This lady was much nicer, starts stamping all my invites and is done in about 30 seconds. I ask if there is a fee and she says no that's it! (I had done my research and read that this is usually a free service). Glad that I had been passed down to her, I was as almost on my merry way until the other worker comes over and tells the lady who helped me that she needs to charge $0.21 for each one. Bummer, okay so I had to pay $17 and some change after she counted all the envelopes up but I can deal with that, as I was told I'd have to pay. BUT THEN, after I pay and almost leave, I'm handed 3 pages of stamps with little men in patriotic hats all over them.... I asked what this was for and she tells me I need to put them on each envelope because I had to pay $0.21 for each hand stamp. So basically, the only reason I was forced to place all of these hideous stamps on my beautiful, pricy, custom wedding invitations is because I was charged for them?! When the other lady who was not going to charge me, would not have made me add these additional stamps to all my envelopes. You'd think the giant hand stamp that went over our custom ones and my receipt would be enough proof, as these additional stamps are NOT required to get the mail to where it needs to go. A week later, I just left the Eastport Post Office on Chesapeake Ave with my remaining 10 envelopes to send off, he stamps them with a nice small hand stamp that doesn't cover our custom initialed stamps and doesn't charge me, therefore not making me add on some random stamp. I wish I had gone there from the beginning. It's just such a shame that that one woman at the first post office made me put those stamps on when she knew very well my whole purpose of having them hand stamped was to keep them looking nice. I realize there are much bigger problems in the world but was super frustrated with this lady who clearly hates her job. I would have been fine paying the money and the envelopes would have been perfectly delivered without an additional stamp being stuck on there. Won't be going there again. read more
