July 31, 2024 - Wednesday Review # 484 and Updated Review from 7/16/2017 - 4 years ago I highly recommend this post office whether you live in Shelby Township where it is located or any other city nearby. I've checked in 45 times according to Yelp when I need to mail cards, or packages to relatives and friends in other cities or states. I usually stop on my way to the cemetery when in route to Rochester Hills so it is very convenient for Me. My many photos attached show the reason still to rate 5 stars as in 2017. There are rotating employees working at the 3 counters every time I visit for stamps or mailing packages or envelopes. They are efficient and polite and take their time to service my needs. The counters, floors, self serve mailing areas are always clean and clutter free along with stocked mailing supplies! There are handicap access parking spots and a push button to enter the Post Office if you are disabled or if you are carrying packages to mail. In the lobby are post office boxes to rent for a fee and with key accessible. This location assists for passports and pick up of your held mail ftom vacation and large packages too. Horrible place, ALWAYS busy, ALWAYS huge lines, ALWAYS understaffed and people constantly have no clue what they're doing. We get packages there - they don't let us know until the package is sitting there too long & gets returned to sender. Honestly would be worth to just try a different location this one is a real bad one. read more

Every time I go to this post office after hours, the dropbox is always full. Two days in a row now I have attempted to drop off a package and I just don't understand why they don't get a bigger dropbox or have someone monitoring it better. Lately they're always out of the express and priority mail large envelopes. So disappointing! read more

Honestly worst service I've ever experienced in my life. I have NEVER done a review, I don't care enough to but the older lady with glasses at the front who's usually on the right side is why im making this review today. The staff seemed fine but the lady who did the passports was super nice. The lady at the front was rude and disrespectful and seems like she hates her job. I genuinely don't understand when workers have bad customer service and or are rude because you chose this job!!!!???! I went in at 9:50 AM. I genuinely don't know who pissed in her coffee. But the way she was acting like I was dumb and didn't know what I was talking about was crazy and unnecessary. I would leave an even ruder review but I rlly don't care enough to. I was looking for my packaged that I. accidentally dropped off there with usps instead of ups . I went there the next day and the blue door was open the lady named Sheryl looked at me strange and asked what I needed I told her and she said "what package" very irritated. She then went back to what she was doing and as she was coming through the blue door and she just shut the door on me, After I was speaking to her saying I believe I see the package as she was walking through the door .Are you serious! Post office on 22 Mile Shelby township - need to train better - delivery person has been going back and forth on our street - waste of time waste of gas that is paid by tax payers - today is not the 1st day of - please train employees better to make our street safer. read more

If I could rate this a zero I would. How USPS is still open blows my mind. Everyone is absolutely clueless. DO NOT RENEW your passport here. They will mess it up and they will not take accountability. They can't even ship it to the correct address. They will not help you correct anything nor give a refund ($32 expedite) for their error. I often come to this post office for my shipping needs. The staff here are always nice, courteous, and respectful to me. For the most part, the wait times here range between 3-7 minutes. However, recently because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the wait times are sometimes in the 10-20 minute range. But that is okay to me considering the situation at hand. The couple days after national holidays usually have the longer wait times, but that is also expected. read more

..Very bad service at that location...was denied services when I was told it is Walk-in ONLY...need fingerprints to be done.. this is one of the selected locations close to me..called to see if we need appointment..nobody answered..decide to drive there..20-25 minutes ..wait in line for like 30 minutes because only two employees work for a line of 10 and more customers...then my turn comes and I am told that it is walking only and with the person in the front booth..ok..but nobody there so I decided to come back another day when less busy. Went back today and was told that nobody is there to do fingerprint, I asked him it is walk-in on right? He told me yes but the person is not there...he said maybe tomorrow but no guarantee she will be there..tell me what kind of service is that? read more

I have never had an issue in this post office. I am generally self-sufficient and using the self-service machine, but sometimes I have to go up to the window. Everyone has always been helpful and good at their jobs. When my mom needed a passport, I brought her to this post office, because everyone is always so helpful. They were super sweet to her and did the paperwork things they needed to do. When I saw the two star review, I felt that the people that were here deserve better than that. I went into the Shelby Twp. post office in Utica, MI and talked with a girl who was suppose to take care of my issue. Since I'm handicap and cannot retrieve my mail from the box down the street I was given a scrip from my doctor to have my mail delivered to my side door entrance. I had a mailbox of legal preference installed by my door. I've not been able to have the mailperson deliver it to my place. I did all the right things to have this happen, but it still is not been taken care of! I would appreciate someone who is capable of making sure this will happen to call me. Terrible service. Made an appt for passport. Was told they don't do that there, even though we made an appt. Employee was rude and unhelpful. Tried again another day, just to buy stamps. . . . was told no one is there to help. Everyone out to lunch. No sign or warning. Extremely poor customer service. read more

Get every apartments mail but ours. I've been to the Shelby office half dozen times they don't care. My daughter's birthday cards were lost/stolen. Different carrier every day. Can go days without any mail. Mail truck will hop the curb to put the mail truck on the incline curb too lazy to walk 30 Ft to the mail hut and the truck. Accident waiting to happen. read more

I like this post office. It's fast, efficient and the ladies are always friendly. It's large and clean and always stocked with everything the have to offer. They even have the largest selection of greeting cards I've ever seen in a post office. For the times when it has been overly busy they have a employee on the floor accepting ready to mail items and she can print you a receipt with her handheld device. There is also 2 self service areas if you just don't want to wait in line for a human to take care of you. Rent-a-box are available too. I will be a continuous repeat customer and definitely recommend. read more

Honestly the service has never been great since we moved to Shelby. Not worthy of my time to write a review till today. Prior bad experiences include mail on the ground, inconsistent timing, neighbors getting our mail etc. To be expected. But today Shelby postal services gave me a extra special experience. While on the way home from work our postal carrier Amy decided to make a abrupt turn into the side of my vehicle . You would think that a person entrusted to drive for a job would pay more attention. First incident maybe, no way the whole postal vehicle had scratches and bumpers falling off. So we waited and low and behold I got in trouble for the incident. Now I'm not denying the officers and the decision, by no means. But maybe try to hire someone who will not crash into others during delivery and pay more attention when on the road. Shelby Twp PO on 22 Mile has the worst service of any PO around. I have seen the clerks shut the metal gate and close the service counter on an elderly lady as she was walking across the lobby to reach the counter do her mailing. I just came from there and even though I entered and was at the end of a 4 person line for the counter help at 5:57pm, a very aggressive Postal Employee yelled at me in the lobby saying it was too late to get in line even though the closing time was 6PM. I have seen clerks close down a counter register with multiple customers in line and go on break or leave. What customer service. Try Rochester or Washington Twp PO Office if you don't want to be stepped on like a used rug. read more

I went into the post office to pick up my package that was supposed to be my child's Halloween costume. The tracking information said that it had been received at this office and I figured I would be able to go pick up the package so I did not have to wait for a carrier to bring it (since my mail isn't usually here till 5pm or later)... I arrived almost 2 hours after my package said that it had been received in the office (thinking that would be enough time for everything to be sorted through seeing as how it's not Christmas time or a major holiday)! The woman at the front said they would call me when my package was found so I could come back to pick it up (left my name, phone number, address & tracking number) but after I checked the tracking again ONE HOUR later it said that 10 minutes AFTER I LEFT the office it had been sent out with the carrier!!! (AKA on the truck to get delivered whenever the carrier finally gets to my box). My main question WHY DID NO ONE CALL ME like THEY SAID?! Or at least have one person go check for the package while I was there?! Apparently that was too inconvenient for them to do... I called to see why no one called me and was told it would be a curtesy to me if they did actually call me when they found it... So not only did they NOT take 5-10 minutes to send one person to the back to look for my package but then they deliberately lied to me saying they would contact me when they found the package!! What a disgrace! This is why people are starting to use services like UPS & Fed EX way more instead of USPS!! read more

I'm more than frustrated with the Shelby Township Post Office. Two times now we have left the country at Christmas and went online to have our mail HELD from Dec 20 - Dec 30 and then have our accumulated mail delivered. Imagine my surprise when I find out that our mailbox was jammed with mail for about 3 - 4 days until my helpful neighbors retrieved it and kept it until our return. I have the emails from USPS showing the date of the HOLD and the date that the HOLD was removed. Apparently these emails mean absolutely nothing. Thank God for good neighbors. So, can someone explain what exactly happens when the HOLD mail request is made?? Frustrated again :( read more

Staff is friendly, but does not make up for the extreme wait. Been using this post office for years, nothing ever changed, once waited up to 20 minutes to mail one thing. So if you have nothing to do, or not in a rush, this office will be great, since 1/2 your day will be in a line.. officially no longer using usps, no wonder they are going out of business.. read more

We have been without a regular letter carrier for months now! I've lived her 30 years and they are the worst. Mail has no regular time, half the time it doesn't get delivered or extremely late because we are the stepchild. They wonder why no one uses the postal service. Why would you when it takes a week to get a letter from one state away. They should just suspend Saturday delivery. What I've learned is the US Post Office is very unreliable and why I don't use it! I am 60 years old and never have I experienced the kind of incompetence, indifference, laziness, and outright spite that emanates from this USPS branch. For years we had to deal with a letter carrier who was too lazy to bring packages to our door and left them on the road When we complained, bills started showing up late (Consumers Power, etc.). Then she would place packages near the house on display for all who drove or walked by to see, They finally fired her and that's next to impossible to do to a postal worker. The inside help is the worst I've ever seen. They don't care and they want you to know they don't care. With lines 10 people deep, they talk among one another, walk nonchalantly away for some unexplained purpose, and carry out their duties as if they were paid extra to work slow. More than this, they seem to go out of their way to be rude or to make a person wait. Example - a clerk will begin a conversation on a personal matter with a customer while there's a line. When she finally finishes - always in her good time - she will wait inexplicably for 2-30 seconds before she calls the next customer. Doesn't always happen but it happens enough I've taken my complaints through the ranks with no satisfaction. The inmates truly run the asylum here. read more

No service here. Don't ask for help. They don't care. Most of the employees are miss fits and couldn't hold a job in the real world. I went in and asked for help and told off by the counter person whose only intelligent word was "next in line". No help there. Staff is friendly, especially if you are to them! I was called to come in & pick up my packages because my postal lady said she got stuck in my driveway trying to deliver the packages. Well first off, it did snow, but we plowed & salted the whole entire driveway extra to make sure that if anyone were to walk or drive on it, they would be safe. I didn't appreciate them lying saying that it wasn't plowed or salted. We have cameras & when I played them back to the times they said my postal service lady was there, they lied. I saw the postal truck pull up to mailbox, which is at the road, then put the mail in the box & drive off. She did not get stuck, let alone even attempt the plowed & salted driveway. When I tried explaining to the lady on the phone, she got rude, started raiding her voice & over talked me. So I was forced to pick up my packages st the post office. No. If deal because I met the nicest lady AT THE POST OFFICE. Then 2 days before Christmas, my postal service lady came right to my door, with my mail & stood there for a moment as I signed for my package & waiting for me to give her something. She seemed like she wanted me to give her a tip or something, which I just wished her a merry Christmas & told her thank you. Odd that she couldn't deliver the day before because she got stuck in my driveway. It was ridiculous. Anyways, post office staff was amazing & I don't mind going there to pick up my packages. Avoid this Post Office whenever possible. It is run terribly and always has excessively long waits. "It's not worth it" is a common thing to hear as people leave the line, presumably to go to UPS or Fed Ex. If you ever wondered why the Post Office is loosing funds, this is why. The supervisor is rude to the employees and to customers, and clearly hates dealing with the public. The other employees are friendly but frazzled. I wish I could give 0 stars... this place is a disappointment and thinking that we can be waiting on important mail in .... once i have to receive a bank debit card and guess what my neighbors bring that in my door... and than it was the time for W-2 to come for me and my mom that got lost somehow it ended in the wrong address again and probably garbage and i had to go to my old job and they printed again plus we have imitation stuff coming for my brother and shit is REALLY IMPORTANT but nopppp ...mail goes to my neighbors again and things god they know it's important and one of them put it at 3 AM under my door ,,,Went there to talk to the manager I was really pissed off they said they would fix it and pay attention for more mail ....Left the store happy thinking that it's going to be different and just today we received a email from the immigration Saying that they send another letter and it Got back to them Now we have to fill up the form to request a letter again otherwise they're going to decline the case and the reason is this place that they don't even do their job .... I already called my lawyers and I'm suing this got way too frustrated for me....I have video recorded every conversation with them And everything happened ,,, You got just one job to do it right read more
