I want to send a accomodation to J. Patton, for outstanding customer service. I recently had a very important certified letter that I mailed from a location not from Avondale was actually from Peoria or Glendale location totally lost for a month. It was a time-sensitive matter. I put a trace on it customer service closed it inadvertently I was able contacted by Jay and he took the issue by the horns from start to finish. Apologetic and made sure that he was able to rectify the situation. I had to actually resubmit the certified letter which has to do with the legal issue. He totally tracked it, communicated with me to let me know once it was there, when they received it things of that nature. That's customer service that goes a long way because he didn't have to do it. I even I also recall going up to the office and he was off on that particular day and even though he was off he still answer his phone and Valerie was still able to assist me with confirming that he had been dealing with me over the issues. I had to stop in to pick up mail through general delivery. The lady who helped us had a great energy and was super friendly to every customer. She did a great job making customers smile. The one thing I did find odd about this post office is they have a bell if the line gets too long to call for more help. Meanwhile, one of the employees is out in the P.O.Box area telling a customer to ring the bell! Why didn't she just tell someone to help, or help herself! There was also another worker at the end of the counter, but he never offered to help anyone. Why!? No initiative to just help when you see the line getting long, you have to wait for the bell like a monkey? That shouldn't be up to the customer, they should use their common sense. read more

The manager/supervisor at this location refused to thoroughly look for my mail today. Our apartment mail boxes were broke and the mail was returned to post office. The representative refused to look for my mail after asking her to look in additional places. Supervisor stated that she only had 2 people working with piles of mail, because the mail carrier did not sort it appropriately. Not my problem, I want my mail. She was rude and disrespectful. The second package was time sensitive documents that were post marked Feb 18 and I did not receive until March 17. And the deadline to have them return was March 21. I just moved to Avondale and have had multiple grievances with the local PO. I purchased a new home and needed to obtain keys from the PO. I went to the office, gave them my info and they told me to call back in 2 days to see if they had the keys ready for my box. Annoying, but I complied. I called... and called... and called. No one would answer the phone. I went to the PO and obtained my keys, asked which box in the community's mail box stop was mine. The lady at the desk had no clue. Disappointed I went to the mail boxes and tried every lock. OMG there were 50 of them to try and the keys provided failed to work in a single box. I went back to the PO to notify them, where they informed me that I, a new build owner, would have to purchase a new lock for $80! I refused to pay it and demanded they tell me (1) which box was mine and (2) fix the lock that the box had. They eventually figured out which box was mine and replaced the corroded lock free of charge. To add to this circus, in the 6 weeks we have lived here I've had 3 packages brought to my door where they were marked as requiring additional postage, in order for me to receive them! The first 2 were from Amazon Prime (which I should add were lost in the Avondale's hub for nearly 2 weeks) and the third from my mother in law (who used her PO to ship the item). I find it far easier to believe that the Avondale PO's scale is the problem and not Amazon Prime shipping or my MIL's PO office. Seriously considering getting a PO Box through the UPS store to avoid the crap storm known as the Avondale USPS hub. read more
