We requested a hold on our mail when we were going out of town. They were supposed to deliver all our mail the day after we returned. The day we were traveling back, they sent me a email or text saying the mail would be delivered the next day. We did not receive our mail that day or the next but got it in the third day. Not very good service! I do like the ability to hold the mail by logging in on a computer. A lot better than the old way of filling out a yellow card. read more

The people that staff this office are the friendliest most accommodating knowledgeable that I have ever encountered in any post office. There seems to be some indication there were problems at this office in the past. I can assure you from today's visit, that is in the past. read more

if I could leave zero stars I would. every package that goes to the Boise facility, your people don't bother to send it to the right area. so instead of it going 2hrs south, my packages ends up in Wisconsin or Michigan. I know it's not just mine, it's happening all over the us, and usps seems to do nothing about it. pay a little extra people and have better chances with fedex or ups. read more

This USPS is open 7:30am-5:30pm Monday-Friday (and 10am-2pm on Saturday) and that is super convenient. Just like at the DMV, you check a button and get a ticket with your number on it and then you'll hear "now serving number 143 and window number 3" (or whatever number and window you are). So, you don't have to wait in a line, you can hang back, or have a seat - they have a little bench with spots for about 3 people to sit - and just wait for your number to be called. If it's really busy, other staff will come out and see if there are people here just to pick up something, so that they don't have to wait as long with the people who are mailing or purchasing. The staff here is always polite and helpful, and they always have the most current stamps to choose from. They have let me flip through the binder to see what they have and if they are out at that stand, they'll ask the other stands if they have x stamp there that I am looking for. I usually come in with a ton of mail or packages that need to be weighed and stamped and I have never been rushed or felt like it bothered the USPS worker. They always take their time to give me my mailing options and make sure that I'm all taken care of. Send more real mail! read more

Friendly staff and two self-service machines when there are long lines. The location is a bit of a mystery. I'm not sure that people who aren't intimate with the area near the Boise River even realize it's there. It's not in a high traffic area and isn't nearly as busy as the main post office in other cities of similar size. read more

Complete incompetence and lack of follow through on customer inquiries. Got the run around and was treated like I was trying to commit mail fraud for picking up my own mail at this location, after my fiance spoke with Kirk, who told my fiance we are holding your mail bc of apt. fire and it's there. I go in to get it, and the same guy proceeds to say he talked with him yesterday, NOT today, and treats me suspiciously. He says your mail is already being forwarded...I could not seem to get a straight answer if the mail was there or not and they are just honoring the forwards vs handing the mail to the actual person in front of them. So frustrating! Seems like he is very good giving lip service on the phone but completely has no regard for who you are in person or what he was supposed to do to help you, Cause yeah, its the USPS and he can get away with it. Point is, I have a photo ID with my name on it and I should have been given my mail. Period. Or please don't tell us the mail is there if you didn't check or follow through. read more

I went in this morning to pick up a package. I had a hard time understanding what the worker was asking me and he would respond with snappy remarks. His name was Jeremiah btw. After I figure everything out, I wait 30 minutes for Jeremiah to find my package as I see him talking to his coworkers. In the last week, our street hasn't seen the mail person for 3 straight delivery days. Previous week, showed up between 7 and 9 PM. Also delivered mail to wrong box, and drove off leaving the mailbox wide open. Is it any wonder Fed ex and UPS are thriving, and post office losing massive amounts of money. Both employees at this location were incredibly rude to the man in line in front of me. He tried to pay in cash and they refused, telling him they couldn't give him change if he was paying in cash (they definitely could) and that they "weren't a bank." I understand that sometimes you may not have enough change but there was no reason to say it in the rude manner that they used. Such a beautiful and grand post office in a lovely location. Right in the center, smack dab of downtown Boise, you will find the Boise Main Post office. The architecture is fabulous. Classic and very well built... Has maintained its beautiful appeal for many many years and will continue to aesthetically appeal. As for the services, it is the general post office. There are multiple entrances for convenience but the area for the line is a bit short, so around the holiday it might get VERY hectic. They have the prepaid boxes laid out for easy access so that you can prepare your box or bags while waiting for a cashier. Beware that if you make a mistake or don't know the address yet that you might have to go to the back of the line, but for the most part... there are many friendly cashiers that are eager to help you in a timely and enjoyable manner.. read more

The worst customer service and longest wait I have ever encountered. The employees are rude and clearly hate their lives. Went in to pick up a package 3 days in a row and each time it was more than a 30 minute wait. After laying into a rude woman who refused my credit card and threw it on the counter at me (because I wrote check ID on the back), one of the men working behind the counter shouted at me to watch me language. My reply? "I pay my taxes you low budget, low income dolt. You work for me, don't get it confused". I moved my PO Box to the old post office on Bannock and 8th. Nice people, beautiful building .. A complete contrast to the trailer park that is the 13th st Post Office. I can't wait for the government funding to be restructured and they close the location hopefully the employees will have to work at Rite Aid or Carl's Jr. They deserve it. read more

This post office is conveniently located down town, with mailboxes to drive up to. I've found the service here (when needing to access the customer counter) to be far faster (and friendlier) than another station (cough cough TARGEE) that I've had to use. I've never had a problem trying to park, and when I was helping an injured friend for a few months, found accessing the PO boxes to be easy. The interior of the building is clean and well lit. I'm glad to be living in a part of town now where this is MY post office. read more

I had a pkg sent from Boise, Id to Ocala, Fl. Boise USPS Sort facility screwed up and sent it to a residential PO in Philadelphia. They sent it to this PO, the outgoing sort facility. I called in the AM and the person who handles this was not in, they took my name and number. Just a couple hours later they called me back and the nice PO guy heard my story and spent about 10 min working on it. He verified it had physically left Boise with pics and that it was indeed at their facility. He guaranteed me it would be in the next container to Jacksonville, Fla, where it should have gone to begin with. I have had 3 or so of these instances. They are always a BIG PIA. Not this time. I waited in line for a while. It was over lunch hour so I figured it might be a longer wait. There was only one line and three counters. You just got in line and when it was your turn you went to the next available cashier. Well when I finally got to the counter the guy asked where my ticket was. I didn't pull a ticket. Everybody there knew I didn't jump the line because there was ONLY one line! He wouldn't help me. Even the guy behind me vouched for me. I left. I won't be coming back EVER. I was so frustrated when I left I about told the homeless meth heads off that always are near the entrance. read more

USPS tracking number told me my package was delivered to my front step on a Saturday morning. While I was home, I went out to my front step, nothing there. So I went down to the post office on a Saturday afternoon waited in line for a half an hour and finally got to talk to somebody up at the counter. He gave me a phone number to call in to talk to a supervisor to see if the carrier could maybe remember where he remembered delivering the package to my house. Perhaps his memory could be jogged. He started calling me a stupid number at 6:30 AM. It's a dead end number that goes nowhere,can't even leave a voicemail. So I went back down to the post office on Monday, waited in line for 40 minutes 37 numbers I waited through. When I get up to the counter I was informed I couldn't be helped because it was a non-monetary transaction. I was told to go stand at the back of the line that it just formed seconds earlier in front of the counter that no one was attending. These people are fools. I've seen better customer service skills out of an illegal alien working the drive-through at a McDonald's that couldn't even speak English. No wonder dogs hate them, they just want to be like everybody else read more
