I don't understand the bad yelp reviews at all. I have lived near those post office for four years and have gotten nothing but exceptional service. In fact last time, I was there very recently, someone named Jasmine, apparently saw me bumbling around with one of those self print stickers and my package and personally adhered it, and made sure that my package was taped sufficiently and mailed it! I mean, this is the kind of thing people are looking for in any employee: anticipating issues and handling them. And this is exactly the kind of service I can expect at this post office. Just a follow up on my post on Saturday - as instructed went back this morning to be reimbursed for the failed guaranteed delivery ($47.70 ) - arrived bright and early - only one staff person working - after Waiting again was told she did not have enough cash in her draw to pay me - said I could come back later -' did not have the time so I had to take a money order - Charmaine basically was rude the entire time and acted put off that I actually wanted to be reimbursed - again, zero accountability and in her case ZERO customer service skills - maybe she would be better suited to sort mail in the back and not interface with customers read more

I went in during the walk-in hours to have a passport done; I already had the paperwork and photos completed. I was told there was one person who could do it and she was busy with someone. So I waited and waited and then she came out and told me that she had to take her break first, and then I should go to the Dawsonville courthouse and get my passport. She was very rude and if you can't do a passport within the time allotted when no one else is waiting then change your passport hours. read more

Sick of this place. They keep going up on costs and lower services. I've lived in my house for over 32 yrs and used to be, I could ask the route carrier for a book of stamps and they'd leave me a book in my box with an envelope for payment. Now I'm informed that doesn't happen anymore and it took 3 days to let me know it. SMH........The Post Office is full of rude employees who act like I'm putting them out by showing up to mail a package. Usually, they're from some foreign country, working in the US POST OFFICE! I went in there to drop off a return and from the moment I walked in, the worker who helped me had an attitude and was SO rude. When I arrived there was a line of 30+ people with one person working the counter. Stood in line for 40 minutes to send a certified letter only to be told that they didn't have any of the green certified letter forms on hand. The gentleman who attempted to help me was nice but he had two coworkers who seemingly had better things to do than help out at the customer service counter. Do yourself a favor and go to a UPS Store or The Shipping Post on Market Place as opposed to dealing with this nonsense. read more

Stood in line as the cherry picked customers out of the line to help first, was told they didn't provide tape unless the package is priority... never had that issue as I just reuse boxes, but okay. Asked if I could use the stapler to staple the small box shut, she said no. Asked for the label she already printed and was going to throw away, so I could go buy some tape and just drop it off to not have to stand in line for another 30 minutes and she threw it away. USPS should just close all together. Nothing makes sense ever. Not to mention this was my third location, photo is of the first .... Don't even have words for that one, but as you can assume, no one came to the door. Second was ... inside a gas station? After standing in line for 20 minutes while 2 employees worked, I asked to use a piece of scotch tape to seal my box shut. The employee, Shelly, kept trying to take the box from me to apply the mailing label and I told her I needed to place the packing slip INSIDE the box before she sealed it. Then I asked for a piece of scotch tape and all hell broke loose. She FLIPPED OUT and told me I had to get back in line and BUY A ROLL if I needed to use tape because, her words: "mine is almost out". I was shipping jewelry and explained the box needed to be sealed at both corners and I just needed two pieces of scotch tape. She again refused to seal the box shut. I said I wasn't going to stand in line for another 20 minutes because she didn't want to let me use two thumbs worth of tape. So when I used the scotch tape off the desk, she SCREAMS AT ME "get out and never come back". Wow. STAY CLASSY USPS. I explained she was a federal employee and she didn't pay for the scotch tape and she then starts screaming at me to get out because I used her scotch tape and threatened to call the police!! I took her photo since she was having a mental breakdown and will be reporting her to the post master general. All this over a piece of scotch tape. How lazy can you be?! read more

(PASSPORT SERVICES) I wanna shout out Nicki k for her review! (She also gave me advice through messaging) I was 5th in line by 8:27am they start to call people in by 9:00am. This was great I was out the door by 10:18. The line by the time I was called to the little room at 10:00 am was reaching the end of the windowed wall along the p.o boxes. It wasn't a long wait for me at all because there was two little wooden benches to sit on as you make it toward the front of the line. Shelia was the assistant who helped me, she was very courteous and helpful and seemed to enjoy what she does. I had everything that was needed so I wouldn't be turned away. I had my photo taken there which came out pretty nice I must say. (Much better than my license) I was in the back with Shelia felt like for only about 10min and I was out on my way to run errands after that. Passport done and on the way I'm ready to travel the world. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. This is the most incompetent post office that I have ever dealt with. I mailed two packages Parcel Select on 6/19 which should have been a 7-10 day delivery time. One package was held at this branch to at least 6/24 and the other 6/29. THEY HAD MY PACKAGES BETWEEN 5-10 DAYS BEFORE SENDING THEM TO THE NEXT FACILITY!! I got story after story about blaming their distribution center in Memphis to possibly the label being compromised in shipment. I will never use these clowns again for any USPS shipments!! read more

The postmaster needs to do their job. The drive-through drop off was useless and you had to drive around the block to get in to the post office when they could've just simply left a pylon in the way so that you know not to go down the lane. Not to mention when you attempt to call no one ever answers the phone or returns your call. The absolute worst people work here. The mailmen will lie and say they tried to deliver your package, but only when you show that your home has security cameras, will they then lie and say they made a mistake. The supervisors are just as bad at lying. I had a package that they said I asked them to take back, so I can come pick it up at the post office the next day. Why would anyone tell the mailman to take the package back just to come get it again tomorrow?? It makes no sense. I regularly get the neighbors mail, and others get mine. I made a mistake and went back to rectify it. It required finding a lost envelope- I don't have it, recipient does not have it, I call that lost... I asked if there was a place with mail that can't be processed and if someone could look there for my envelope. Manager said "so you want me to go look through this whole building for your envelope because you screwed up?". Now I am sure my envelope is lost because PO does not want to look for it. Well, now I suspect someone stole it and it was last seen at the post office so now I am calling the police. If I could give negative stars I would. I own a small business that requires me to ship packages. I hate going there!!! There is an Asian lady that works there and I always get her. She seems to find a way to get me out of the line. This is challenging being most of the time I'm pressed for time. She is speaking behind a piece of glass and a mask with an accent and you can barely hear her. I ask questions and can't understand her answer. For Any misunderstanding she pushes you out of the line. I was pushed out of line 4 times for small errors that I probably could've corrected on the spot if she was willing to help and not just push people out of line! Do your customers a favor and put her in a position that doesn't require her to be customer facing! read more

I actually had a problem with a delivery, but was able to call the post office. Theresa was able to assist me in verifying the correct delivery information, tracking down the package, and advising that the package was out for delivery. I see a lot of bad reviews and I suspect that people with bad experiences (and I'm sure it happens) are more inclined to submit reviews. In my case Theresa did an exemplary job - so thank to her specifically. This is a busy post office and there will be a line, however in my experience (including passport application) those working here do a good job. read more

USPS Cumming, GA - Passport Services Extremely poor service twice. I went there on a Saturday, not knowing that I needed to have an appointment. The person in the passport office did not ever smile at me and ask me how she could help. Her tone to me was rude and short. I went back on Tuesday and walked up to the office. There were no instructions on waiting in line or any other directions on what to do. The same person who was in the office on Saturday was there, and again, she did not smile and say how can I help you. She said "First time or renewal. I replied first time and she said "Wait in the line outside the door. I didn't understand because I WAS outside the door to the office. She raised her voice and told me "You see the line in the lobby where people are sitting? You need to wait there" I will be speaking with the postmaster to report this behavior. For all those who may not know, Forsyth County Probate Court provides the same service by appointment only. I called them and they were extremely pleasant to deal with and gave me their website as well as verbal instructions. read more

They don't bother to scan packages that you drop off for shipping. The mail delivery person scans packages as delivered when actually they are still on the truck. This review is STRICTLY for passports. Believe it or not, I have never had a passport. I have been living in the USA for more than three decades. My parents took me to the USA when I was only six months old so I am basically American. I never had a reason to get a passport. I would love to travel but got no $$ I've made 2016 the year for me to check off a few items on my bucket list and getting my passport and finally traveling overseas is one of them. I am in no rush to get my passport. However, after months of trying to reach a post office just to schedule an appointment. I've had it. Cummings Post Office is the only (please, correct me if I'm wrong) that accepts walk ins for passports. I've heard this from my parents and my co-workers. So one day, I decided to just go. It is an hour from where I live but I figured it's now or never. As I walk in the post office, I already see a line. The passport office doesn't open until 9 am and at 8:45 am, I was probably the 10th person in line. A worker comes to check up on us to make sure we have all our documents and make sure to write in BLACK ink! It clearly states on the application to write ONLY in black ink. There is even signs while waiting indicating that but of course, a handful of people in line failed to see that and wrote in blue. Luckily for me, I filled it out online and had it printed before arriving. He was nice enough to grab a handful of applications for people who did not write in black ink to start over. He even grabbed our documents and made copies for us. He is a post office worker but did not process passports and only helping the two ladies so it wouldn't take as long to do. Waiting in line, I've learned that so many people do travel to Cummings because of the walk ins. Although I was unsuccessful with trying to reach my local post offices close to work and home. They told me that the earliest available time for them to make an appointment was May 27th! No thank you, will just spare a few hours for a walk in. I waited for about an hour. Honestly, it didn't seem that bad with all that was going on and chatting with people in line. I know they were going as fast as they could. When it was finally my turn, it only took me 15 minutes and I was done. The reason why they make copies of your documents is because the passport agency needs the original, except for driver's license. They will mail back the originals in a separate envelope from the passport. It takes approximately 6 weeks but to expedite is 3 weeks and $60 more. Since I've never had a passport before, the total fee was $130. They accept cash, money order, & debit. No credit cards. Overall, great experience. Great customer service. UPDATE - I got my passport in 2 weeks!!! I did NOT have to expedite it read more

We've been waiting in line for almost 2 hours and we were 3rd in line when they opened. The passport line is outside the main office area (where the staff cannot even seenus waiting). There is one person doing passports, which is fine except she seems to prioritize the regular mail customers even though there are 2 other employees serving them and all of us waiting for passport service have been waiting twice as long as every other regular mail customer in the building. I have tried to politely ask if were in the right place for passports and the employee (Ms. Kathy) just gave me a stern look. read more

Read all the reviews and chose to go to Cummings Post office. It is one of the few places you can get a passport without appointment. We were 4 th in line. Waited 15 minutes. Greeted with smiles by everyone. Not sure why this place is getting bad reviews. Other than a coffee bar in the waiting area it was a nice place to do business. Bill needs to retire. Sweet gentleman, "bless his heart" but too confused, too obsessed with following the book and not too focused on customers. Bright 2 packages in to mail and it was too much for him to think ahead and help. Added an unnecessary 25 mins to my already 15 mins at the post office. It wasn't a difficult transaction at all. Ended up with another Postal Clerk, she seemed to manage just fine and finished things up for me in UNDER 5 mins!
