I came to the Lawrence Post Office 20 minutes prior to closing and they had already locked the door. It was a very important piece of mail but what hurt the most is the black guy working behind the counter looked at me and began laughing. Two other people got turned away too. This branch sucks. I have plates from the bmv a month overdue. I mailed court documents to Louisiana over 2 weeks ago and hadn't been delivered

The ladies up front are very sweet and nice. They always greet me when I walk in. Sometimes there is a long wait line due to low staff occasionally but it goes pretty quickly. Packages are always scanned daily when dropped off and haven't had any issues with any of my packages at this location. They're also open a little later than most post offices which is great. Take the other reviews of this location with a grain of salt, can't make everyone happy. read more

Today they had customers waiting outside in single digit weather because they closed early. I waited outside 10 minutes for the one customer they had inside to exit to be able to drop my package off. This came with a back and forth from the lady working the counter, who proceeded to ask me why I was waiting outside because they were closed. I informed her that I had been waiting for 10 minutes before they closed and that they should service customers until 6, as their hours list. I was told no, and that she was by herself and had things to do, which I guess doesn't include waiting on customers. After acknowledging that she may be by herself and for that I apologize, that shouldn't be taken out on the customer, nor is it our fault that she's be herself. If hours are posted, you should be servicing paying customers until the time it says you are closed. I was told my bad, and only after I said I had a prepaid label, did she take my package. This is poor customer service and I'm not putting it all on the lady, because she was given the ok to close early by her supervisors. Not to mention this is the day after a holiday when the post office would normally be open. This is unacceptable. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! I am sick of this post office location. I no longer go here unless I absolutely have to! I'd rather drive 15 mins away than come here. The workers are beyond rude and do not like to do their job. I had to call and speak to a supervisor a few months back about one who complained about the amount of packages I needed her to scan which by the way were already prepaid for! She lied and told me I HAD to have a manifest sheet. I have a brother who is a supervisor at the post office, so I KNOW this is a lie and the supervisor confirmed this when I called to complain. Does this make things easier? Yes, but it is not required. I just went in today and a new person tried the same thing and I only had 8 packages. This is on top of them now closing early for weeks and lying about the times they close! There were 10 of us outside 15 mins til close and the doors were locked. Their excuse was they are short staff. Then what will 10 mins do for you? 2 weeks prior to that a lady locked the door in my face before closing and only opened the door when I told her I had a manifest sheet. She complained the whole time that I was holding up the other people waiting and then handed a person in line her keys to let us out. I will be complaining to higher ups about this location. My brother has already made me aware on how to keep complaining, so it gets somewhere :) read more

This post office has the worst, unprofessional and bad attitude staff. I put in a change of address in October and in the middle of November still wasn't receiving mail but informed delivery was saying my mail was still going to old address I called to see what was going on and got a man named Kevin, Kevin had a nasty attitude and he act like it was my fault but it was because I didn't put the street down but still no need for the nasty attitude. 3weeks went by and now we are in December and still no mail but informed delivery said mail was still going to old address so I decided to just go up there. Well I got to the post office told the guy what was going on the guy said I remember talking to you and he instantly got an attitude, yes it was Kevin. Kevin and I got into it hot and heavy because I asked for a supervisor or the post master and no longer wanted to talk to him with his smart mouth. This guy should've been fired. Well the supervisor Amwar brought me my mail that was collecting at the post office and he said now everything should be fixed in the system and I should be receiving my mail in 7-10 days but that didn't happen. I still haven't been receiving my mail so I called and got yes Kevin. I said I am not receiving my mail he said didn't the supervisor bring you your mail... I didn't even tell him my name he knew already who I was but I said you again let me talk to a manager, supervisor or Post master he said call back tomorrow. This man should be terminated I have never seen anything like this before. read more

We've all be to the post office but this is just a shout out on tax day to the wonderful employees working here today. The staff was efficient, friendly, maintained a sense of humor during one of the busiest days of the year. I could only hope for the same attitude from a few of the customers in the post office. It IS so easy to be considerate of others! Why does it seem incomprehensible to some? Example, one woman, stretched out on one or the two counters available sorting her coupons while blocking all the forms everyone was reaching for. She wouldn't move a muscle regardless of our pleasant request to do so. Rude is rude but please try to be more considerate of those around you. I'm now stepping off my soap box. Kudos to employees at the Speedway Post Office! Great job here today by all. read more

A shout out to the folks working here, today on a busy Saturday during the holiday season. The woman running the front desk was efficient and professional and did a great job dividing up customers based on their needs to keep the lines moving. I was worried I would be here forever, but this was a nice, quick stop on this busy Saturday. One complaint: why no automated option? I only needed to buy stamps but clogged up the line, as there is no machine here. Otherwise, a great neighborhood post office. read more

After repeated calls and no answer, my boss asked me to just drive over here to ask my question. And of course, as soon as I walk in there's a line, with only one employee manning the front. Although, I heard others in the back. Clearly customer service is not a priority. They don't make anything easy. read more

On a Saturday, this is one of the few locations open into the afternoon, which is great. It was busy with a line, and there were three representatives helping to get customers through. The representative that helped us was courteous and professional. However, I could not believe my ears when I heard how a representative at one of the other lines was speaking to a customer. The customer was from Africa, so there was a bit of a language barrier. The customer didn't understand the communication very well, and the representative began to get verbally abusive with her. At one point, in a very loud voice, she told her "if you would be quiet and listen, you would understand what I'm telling you...". At another point, she said, "ok, bye!" and walked away from the customer and the counter. I don't know how it ended, but the whole lobby was watching with looks of disbelief. I think it's common sense that representatives of any business do not yell at customers, but maybe it needs to be spelled out. read more

Sent out a package I was selling to someone. It ended up being a scam, I realized only a couple hours after I had shipped it. Called the post office to see if I could stop it from going out, and the ladies helped and looked thru to find the package and when they did they set it aside for me to pick up the next morning! I am so grateful! They were so kind and totally understood how upset I was about getting scammed! read more

This company should be shut down! They argued with me, a lady and her supervisor for about 15 min saying that Alaska was not apart of the United States...... and was going to charge me more money. Until they looked it up themselves, then lost my package and had no idea where it went, and then declined my insurance claim and won't even refund my 80 bucks for trying to send the package that never left Indiana, guys if your sending something important please don't send it here and please don't tell them what your sending because I think they are stealing people stuffs. Speedway Post Office, needs people that come out and help, not stay in the back. When they do come out they are on their cell phones? This is the second time I tried to mail the same letter. I did not have correct address and clerk told me to check on my smart phone. Well, I do not have a smart phone. I went to the library and checked. When I returned, again I waited for about 20 minutes, there was 3 girls there. 7-2-17 at 12:17.
