The staff behind the counter also seemed to know the patrons. The line was a little long but progressed quickly. There were around six people ahead of me but I got to the front in less than 10 minutes. I was impressed at the one in my neighborhood is usually a little slow. Thankfully a supervisor heard me and got the stamps and showed her that VIOLA, people do Mail letters to family and friends outside of the country! This is the Burlingame distribution center and also the people who investigate missing packages…read more In the past year I've had two packages that showed "delivered" in the tracking that were never even brought on my property. One was brought by a neighbor a block away who got my package and the other must be floating out in space somewhere as it was never recovered. When you open an investigation by calling the USPS 800 - the people at this facility are supposed to call you back within 3 business days for resolution. Two out of 3 times they don't call you back and if you try to call them directly, the phone rings and rings and rings but no one every picks up and apparently USPS is too cheap to give them any kind of voicemail (not that they would respond if they had one) So you end up calling the 800 again to escalate the case to the consumer affairs dept (in SF) to handle the case. My recommendation - have anything important shipped by Fedex. They're the only company that you can count on.

Confident in that information, I walked into the store to open a mailbox. Unfortunately, I was met with the most unprofessional and rude service I've ever experienced. A staff member named Shan (or Sean) interrupted me mid-sentence when I tried to explain the offer and flat out denied the promotion. I let him know that I spoke to someone on the phone who confirmed it, and instead of helping or clarifying, he dismissively said it wasn't valid at their store. Even after I showed him a QR code from the Millbrae location referencing the promotion, he arrogantly said it was "incorrect" and offered no further assistance. I asked to speak to a manager, and he told me the manager wasn't in. When I asked for the contact number, he gave me a fake phone number. Completely unacceptable. I walked in simply wanting to open a PO box -- not to be belittled or made to feel uncomfortable. I won't be returning, and I would not recommend anyone do business at this location if this is how they treat customers.
