Slow and horrible customer service. They delivered my package to the wrong person and they signed for it. We recently purchased a second home near NAS Jax where our child stationed the house is on a brand new little cul-de-sac and in this county to put up a mailbox, you have to get a permit from the county. Since we are not here all the time we chose a locking mailbox, which means the post office has to now inspect it and make sure the key provided to them works , that takes 4 to 6 weeks , who knew !? We are going on month three now of having to pick up our mail at the post office. I'm glad this is not my primary address so I don't get that much mail here., I only have to come once every 7 to 10 days because this is the worst Post Office I've ever been to. The last two weeks I've waited in line over 30 minutes and there was no more than five people in front of me both times. (The first time I ever came here and went to the mail pick up window I was told you have to get in line. I'm accustomed to the tiny post office where my primary residence is, if you have to pick up a package, just press the buzzer and someone comes and helps you. Shout out to Indialantic Post Office! I can't for the life of me understand why they have only one employee working up front but even worse he's the rudest most unhelpful postal worker I've ever seen. I've not needed his help, but I spent a lot of time just standing there watching him. In the past two weeks, I have seen him argue with a coworker., tell a woman whose package has been missing and scanned in Jacksonville for the last seven days to go home and go online and fill out a form for somebody in Jacksonville to look for it. The woman stood in line 30 minutes and he couldn't process that request with her? She was an elderly woman she asked him for help with it more than once, and he kept telling her it's easy you could do it yourself and finally she left Today there was a woman probably in her 80s and her daughter immediately in front of me. The mailman that delivers to their house every day had sent them because he didn't know why the 20 magazines this woman has had delivered to her for over 15 years suddenly stopped coming, every single one of them. The guy at the front counter talked to them with a hint of disdain and like they were dumb. First he told her you have to take it up with your carrier and they must've told him five times carrier whatever his name is had sent them there because he has no idea why. By the way he was talking to them you would think they were demanding disgruntled customers when all they asked was if he could look in the back and see if maybe they were being held in a bin and he refused to do that he told her nothing he can do for her. She could wait on the side and a manager would come up. She said OK and moved to the side but he never called the supervisor. He told her he would do it in a minute On the other hand, the African-American gentleman who goes to pull your held mail in the back and bring it to you is the most helpful, pleasant man. They need to switch those guys positions. He should be working at the front counter, and angry, nasty guy with the spiky hair should be working in the back. Would leave 0 stars if I could. The employees are rude and slow. Seems they have gotten a bit complacent, as they have been working there for some time now. Why are the customers in line waiting a half hour for the employees to see the line become long to finally help customers. This is not my usual post office, but I frequent here when my grandma wants me to send her check payment to Publishers Clearing House, Tuft's University, or some other magazine subscription that targets the elderly. This USPS location has {usually) little to no wait and has one maybe two people working the front most days. They are not the friendliest postal employees [almost robotic] compared to the staff that works at the other three offices that I go to regularly. I'm not sure why.... Overall, this location is usually clean with easy access. I only come to here if I absolutely have to and feel no real connection or warmth from the staff. It's like a self-service deal. read more

As expected , you can always count on a government employee to provide the absolute minimum. The customer service here is horrible and the website says self service but they do not have a self service kiosk. The people that work here get annoyed with you for expecting them to do their job. I do online sales and regularly send packages out at this location. Generally, I prepay for the labels and am able to go, drop them off at the side counter and leave. I don't recall but maybe a handful of times over the last couple of years that I have done this without walking past a long line, sometimes even out the door, of people waiting to be assisted by the usual ONE man that is available. I've truly never had a good experience when I've not prepaid and been one of the people stuck waiting. On two separate occasions now, I have seen the Postmaster going completely overboard with the way he speaks to customers...not only the things he says, but his unnecessary aggressive, rude and loud tone, almost purposely making it a scene and belittling the customer. Both times I have witnessed this behavior has been while he was speaking to elderly people, once an old lady and today an old man. The customers were not being combative either time and certainly did not deserve to be spoken to that way, even had they been! I went to the post office just 30 min before they were scheduled to close so I expected a wait, but never expected it to be an hour and a half of standing there while one worker (as usual) was stuck helping everyone by himself (from another store). While the Postmaster and another woman stood around laughing and loudly laughing and having conversations and the Postmaster was complaining about how things need to change & that he's looking for another job that pays better then he's quitting, etc. This was in between yelling at old people and not ONCE helping the one poor worker, or the line of customers, the entire time. Same issue again! I had an international package that needed to be signed for, the package got sent back to the post office and can be redelivered. No one knocked and I know no one knocked because at the time the package got scanned I was right next to the door getting three dogs ready to go on a walk. This is the worst P.O. on Planet Earth. They require Apt.numbers on all mail or they will not deliver. If the Apt. number is on the envelope they will sometimes not deliver that item as well. They have a discretionary system of delivery. This has happened to me st leaset 6 times both with and without Condo Numbers. The Delivery Lady speaaks little English but has worked at the P.O. for a minimum of 5 plus years. She is not improving. The System is BAD. They return items to the P.O. with no slip telling you it was returned? The companies shipping originally shipped U.P.S. FedeX . They and the customer do not realize that these companies turn these otems over to the P.O. thus encouraging Awful service. The P.O. has not gotten shipping right for the last 50 years . Dropped off a small package in their drop box on August 8th. Assumed it would update the next day upon opening and scanning packages. Watched the USPS tracking website like a hawk all day Friday, to no avail and without an update. Didn't worry too much, as these things happen. Perhaps they were short staffed and didn't get around to scanning packages I thought? Woke up early on Saturday (im pregnant so I don't wake up early unless necessary) and called with hopes of locating my package. The local College Dr. post office did not answer my first two calls, so called the 1800 number. Didn't like the answer I got there, which in short was, "since there was no arrival scan, they are not liable for a lost package, but the local post office would be made aware of the issue and call me as soon as they found it". Obviously, that answer was not one I wanted to hear, so I called the local office again and finally got someone on the phone. I explained my situation, gave my tracking info and described the item for reference and was even put on hold while the postal worker "looked around for my package". After 12 minutes of being put on hold, the call got disconnected. Called back. No answer. It was around their closing time on Saturday, since they close early that day, so I was unable to go up there to speak with someone face to face like I wanted. I was freaking out the rest of the weekend, getting questions from the buyer of the diesel watch, wondering why two days past and no update to tracking when it was supposed to be dropped off on Thursday (we had already had some bumps along the road in the transaction, so I avoided her, knowing she wouldn't believe me. Heck, I wouldn't either if I was in her situation). So, with me being pregnant, I was stressing out 10 times the amount of a normal human being, which was extremely detrimental to my health and that of my unborn child. When Monday came, I went up to the post office and went to the window that is designated for package pick ups and explained my situation again. This worker didn't even go to the back (or even pretend to) but he did get my name and number with the promise to call if they found it. Fast forward to today. I had been feeling like all hope was lost, I was being accused of stealing the intended receiver's money, who wrote my boyfriend, causing arguments with him, who too thought that I was lying and just hadn't shipped it yet. I had come to the conclusion that I would go up to the local post office one more time to be sure that the package was forever lost and, once confirmed lost, I would refund the buyer's money and vow to never drop anything off in a drop box again. This time, thankfully, the post office was not busy at all when I arrived, so I was quickly greeted by a nice girl, who was very understanding, and when she said she would be right back so she could look for the package, I actually believed her. Thinking it would be like every attempt at locating thus far, I nearly passed out when she returned holding my little brown package that I thought I'd never see again. On the package was a post it note, stating that the label was too small and unable to be scanned. When I explained that this was my fourth time speaking to someone about the package, she faked shock and wouldn't confirm whether my name and number and lost package info were noted, as since I had inquired so much, you would think that people would be made aware to keep an eye out for the package, or hmm, even check to see if someone was looking for a package once they set aside the package due to it being unable to be scanned? I hate to see how many "lost packages" are in the back due to the negligence of this post office's workers. I would almost bet that they benefit in some way when packages are deemed "unable to be scanned" or "undeliverable", etc. Thank the heavens for the young girl who helped me today, or else I would be out a diesel watch/$100. However, I am positive that my reputation is already scarred and am still unable to find the courage to contact my buyer to explain the situation, as this entire ordeal has caused me severe emotional distress and I will never go to this post office again. I will be giving my business to UPS from now on, as they seem to actually care about ensuring the safety of the packages entrusted to them for delivery. read more
