    Don't try to come before closing time thinking it will be faster. I did that and there was a long line, lol. Goofy minds, think alike. I had to leave because they closed at 5pm, I arrived at about 445pm but my daughter had cheer/tumble class down the street and we would have been late if I would have waited in the line. I did go back the next morning around 1030am and there were only 2 people in front of me. Didn't take long at all. The drive in & exist could be better. When you do leave, you have to either do a U turn in a high traffic area, depending on what direction you need to go or the other way you have to cross over an open median area, which has the same high volume traffic both directions.

    I have never had any issues with our post office here in Wylie. Always fast lines inside. Friendly workers and very helpful.

We were told that Plano (this location) is a walk in only service from 9-12 on Saturday. We arrived around 9:40 to find a paper sign on the door stating they only take 12 people per day for passports. There were about 20 in line already. I called the main USPS number again. The representative took the time to look for other locations within 60 miles that have Saturday passport hours. There was not a single location. He gave me the direct number to Plano to see if there was anything they could do, they did not answer the phone and there is no voicemail. Just goes to a busy tone. To only have 12 slots for the entire Dallas area outside of school hours and to not allow for any appointments in those 12 slots is insane and so inefficient. Thank you government that takes my tax money for these services that do not benefit me in any way.

    REGARDING PASSPORT WALK-INS [1 for experience during:…read moreJANUARY 2026] If you arrive here for walk-in's between 12:00PM-1:00PM, they'll go ahead and tell you they only accept the first four applicants rather than working the entire hour listed on the USPS website. While this time allotment makes sense since each passport should take 15 minutes to process if you have all the required documents, but if they end up finishing four applicants by 12:22PM(say, a family came in and they all had their information ready), with 38 minutes to spare until 1:00PM, you WILL get told to read the sign on the door and get told to go home. The reasoning stated is because: - Processing the passports uses up their Lunch Break, they're doing this out of generosity since they do not have to. - There are appointments all throughout the day, up to a full month out. I would have appreciated if the website mentioned that they only accepted FOUR applicants and NONE MORE between12:00PM to 1PM rather than choosing to not work the full hour they had allotted on the website. *If you still want to do passports here, be sure to arrive an hour or so early, I stress that they only accept FOUR people, and many others will arrive early as well. You may have a easier time seeki REGARDING PACKAGES AND MAIL [3 for unpredictability of busy hours] If you're going here for sending packages or letters though you'll probably get it sent within a 5-15 minute wait if it isn't busy. Shows it should have been here on 4/28.23. Spoke with Joe Dent , he identified himself as "the postmaster". He was rude, used obscenities, and talked over me. It's very sad that the only way to get our important mail is to have a tracking number on it. Most companies do not do this. But today I stopped by in the morning before work to drop off two packages that I had QR codes for. Used the self kiosk since there was only one person in line there and the normal line had about 10 people. Printed my postage and put them on my package, got my receipt, all good to go. Went to drop off my packages in the package drop off bin but it was locked so went over to the counter to ask where I could leave the packages and the counter lady told me to get in line. I told her I used the kiosk, my packages are good to go but the bin is locked I just need to set the packages down. And she told me that she did not care and I have to get in line to hand them to her. I have been going to USPS for years, multiple locations, even in different states, and have NEVER been told I have to get in line to HAND a package to a clerk when the package already has the postage and everything on it AND I had my receipt. I am not waiting in a 30 minute line with 10 people ahead of me to do that. Either unlock the bin or have a counter reserved for drop offs like EVERY other USPS office has. And besides the fact, SHE could've been more respectful too. Will never go to this location again. I went to a different USPS right after this situation and dropped them off at the counter they have designated for drop offs, and walked out. No waiting in line.

Their employees fluctuate and often aren't trained well. A few month ago their printer kept jamming when I was trying to print a 60 page job. The employee went to get someone to assist, the man told me to go somewhere else because it couldn't be fixed. Today I sent a print job at 9:15 AM requesting a quote. 5 hours later I phoned to check if they received it and get that pricing quote. A female answered but a male was in the background telling her what to say. (English was a struggle with both but the female was being very patient.) Initially, he told her that there was no email. While I was verifying the email I sent it to, I heard him say they did have it but it wasn't ready yet. I clarified that I was looking for a quote first. Explained the details of my email, pricing on 65 lb card stock and considering adding cutting to the job. The female was struggling relaying this and told them man I was requesting to speak to him. He said put the call on hold. I hung up after 5 mins. 45 mins later I nice male phoned me back to tell me there was no such thing as 65 lb card stock. 65 lb is Very common paper. I'm thinking this place may have switched ownership. The location on 78 is farther but has had customer service training.

I pointed it out and they claimed that's the process. The tracking still shows delivery that was returned initially. When I reached out to them, they said it could be the USPS problem and that's why they insists to take UPS with additonal charge so they will 'help' with tracking the item. They have no idea about the whole eco system.
