Zero stars. Absolutely horrible service. A 60 minute wait turned into 2 hours, then 2.5 hours. Then on my last attempt to get an update, they hear me start talking and hang up on me. I try to call back a few more times, they would answer and immediately hang up. I guess they never learned how to communicate professionally. If you value your time and want some respect from a towing company, go back to your search results on Yelp and choose ANY other company besides United Towing and Transport. I had problems with my vehicle this morning and it would not make it up the Magnolia Bridge going west in Burbank, I called AAA and they sent Roman to tow my vehicle, he was there reasonably fast and did everything he could to get it going there in the spit before taking it to my mechanic @ Art's Auto Care on Victory Blvd. Roman is a very knowledgeable and professional person, always respectful and happy to help me out. The tow truck driver refused to tow my vehicle and parked several blocks away from my actual address, forcing me to walk to meet him. Even though my car was the only vehicle in the parking lot, he condescendingly asked if it was mine. I pointed out that it was the only blue Volkswagen in an otherwise empty lot and that I was the only person standing outside waiting. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he began yelling at me and got in my face. The entire altercation was captured on camera, both on my iPhone and on the camera system inside my sedan. He then stood in front of my car. In hindsight, I should have called the police. I want this incident taken seriously and for appropriate action to be taken against this driver for his behavior. read more

Scheduled a tow for a non-starting vehicle, clearly stated in the AAA request. The dispatcher was difficult to understand, seemed confused about the job, and even asked me to drive a car that wouldn't start to the tow truck. Completely unprofessional and disorganized. Customer service, speed, and reliability in Alabama are nowhere near the level I experienced with AAA in New York. This isn't my first bad experience here -- and it will be my last. I had a flat tire and my car was parked off a narrow alley so AAA sent a regular truck from United Towing first. The nice person who arrived said I needed a flat bed so he called and sent Marco T. with a flat bed that said "Speedy Tow" on its body. Is there an option for zero stars? Advise - Ask AAA to not send a United Towing truck your way. First issue: Waited 6 hours for a tow. Stated was 30 minutes. Then extended another 30. And so on. AAA had no clue about the extensions and said there was nothing they could do about it. Ended up calling a local towing service at 9PM. Then at 10:30 PM United called to say they were on their way. This all started at 4:30 PM PT. Second Issue: Called AAA for a tow. Stated was United Tow would arrive in 30 minutes. They are in Burbank. We are in Burbank. 90 minutes later Hector shows up with a chip on his shoulder arguing about this and that. He put his iPad right in our face about 2" away saying "this is ridiculous that you don't know what's wrong with you vehicle". Check engine was on. Immediately stop the car was the error. So we did. He left in a huff stating that we were argumentative. This is a ploy by United to report the pick up people as argumentative so that they can get paid and go to another pick up. We ended up calling another local tow service, Speedy Tow. They are awesome. Highly recommended. Third incident. Someone else called United to pick up their vehicle parked at Albertsons. The tow truck driver parked in the middle of the parking, with vehicles on the left and right. He sat in his vehicle for 20 or so minutes. The got out to talk to the owners of the car. Then sat for another 20 minutes, then lowered his lift. We were all waiting to get out of the parking lot for more than an hour while he flipped people off and must have felt empowered by his ability to block people in for over 90 minutes. The customer's vehicle was drivable. The tow truck driver ended up pulling up the ramp, moving it to another spot to block additional vehicles, drop the ramp and drove the "disabled" vehicle up the ramp. Why are all United Tow truck drivers rude? Are they trained to do that? Maybe they get paid by how many people the upset and get a rush by being terrible people. Or, is being that way part of the hiring process. Whatever their issues is, avoid United Towing at all cost. Called AAA to get a tow, company came out and refused to attempt to move the car from a parking lot. I got 2 vehicle skates and moved the car to an easily accessible location next to the entrance of the lot and they still refused to pick up the car. They lied to dispatch about the car being stuck in park (it was in neutral, even though the company didn't attempt to shift it), being inaccessible even though it was moved to the front of the parking right next to the street. They also kept complaining that the steering wheel was locked, it was locked with both wheels pointing straight; there was nothing hindering the car from being towed on a flatbed or a wheel lift truck. Seems like they only want easy jobs, will never use them again even for a flat tire. read more

When our Prius suffered a hybrid failure in 95+°F Burbank, we needed a tow or flatbed back to Marina del Rey. AAA arranged for the tow with United Towing & Tranport. Our driver was Johnny, who was also the on-duty field manager that day (I think I have the title right). He showed a lot of care for our car, hitching it up for the tow, driving carefully, and dropping it off at our condo. The ride with him was enjoyable. He waited until I had the Prius safely parked before heading back to Burbank. Based on this experience, I highly recommend United Towing & Transport. read more

Go elsewhere immediately!! terrible shady company. They DO NOT LISTEN TO OR RESPECT THE CUSTOMER. IF AAA values their customers and reputation they need to drop them as a provider. In fact this will be a great review for another company in the end. My Tesla died and I had managed to pull into a safe area. On the call before anyone arrived I asked for a flatbed because of the type of car. I told them it might be battery issues. So instead of a flatbed they brought a guy with a portable battery jumper in a small pickup. That was an off-shot, didn't work at all, but before the guy left he told me to reset my car (aka shut it down), while the screens were black he reaches in and takes a photo of my blank dash. Ok whatever, weird, but hold on this will come back to bite. So as he leaves he says ok a tow truck is in its way, I make sure to say "ok a flatbed right!?".. "yeah, they will be here soon" he said. So I'm about 15mins a regular tow truck shows up (not a flatbed), i greet him and say "glad to see you but I need a flatbed", the new tow person argued with me in broken English and put a supervisor on the line to explain it to me. I let them continue and they put dollies on the rear wheels, I said to him that the dollies were not needed as I could put it in tow mode. The driver argued with me saying no it is not working and can't go into neutral. (See what's happening?) but instead of just looking at the damn dash and seeing that I had power he argued with me saying it didn't have power ‍. At this point the car was ready to go (on Dollie's); I had a location change as the original Tesla shop couldn't take the car, but another one could. I told the driver and he said he couldn't do it because of the Dollie's, because it was too far, and Dollie's could only go about 5 miles (even tho the original Tesla shop was 11 miles lol), so again I argued, saying it's not that much further just in the opposite direction and just take off the Dollie's and we can put it into tow mode (again he argued saying it couldn't power up even tho the dash was powered lmfao). He gets upset, I get upset, he pulls the Dollie's and unhooks the car I ask to speak to the manager, manager says he'll send for a flatbed. Flatbed never arrives. I call AAA they tell me they are refusing the call basically leaving me stranded now for hours. What a-holes. AAA says there is only one other company who can do it but will be many hours because their flatbed is very busy and only had one. At this point I am in disbelief. I ask AAA to step in and get the other company to come back with a flatbed. They try and say they can't do it because the car won't go into tow mode (UUUGHH), I ask for the number to call direct. I call, they said No we don't want to service you. It was straight up like f-off!! Even tho my family of five was stranded with no other options. What a bunch of arrogant people. I even said "hey I can put this call on video chat and show you I can put this in neutral. Nope, just was like "no your car is dead, don't show me, I don't believe you, I don't want to see it, we're not doing anything for you". I think at that point I probably used some explicit language on the phone.. yeah, I definitely did.. and hung up. What to do.. what to do.. I searched and found a good rated local tow company, called them, got a rate of $200 to pick me up, accepted and they were there with a flatbed in 10mins. Saviors!! Thank you thank you. They treated me with respect and listened to me. Took care of my situation and my family and I were able to move on with our day after hours of frustration. Paying for service shouldn't have been needed.. but it was worth it in the end. read more

They put my car in a lot with no security, no employees, and an easy to breach fence. Refused to lock car. Would not let me get possessions over weekend. $917 worth of possessions stolen. They laughed. I took them to court and got a judgement ordering them to pay me back. They took a $100 tow and overcharged my insurance $1900. Their biz license is only for AAA customers only. They lied in court. $917 judgement for theft by employees of united tow. Cops, lawyer, body shop and mercury insurance said it's common. AAA did NOTHING. They won't help me collect judgement. read more

Let me share with everyone the nightmare I had today. I was on my way to work this morning after car wash on Franklin going to Starbucks. I heard a banging noise in front and I pulled over, well it was a flat tire that started smelling. I called Aaa at 9:30am. They sent United to change the tire but the driver said the wheel lock is missing from my trunk and he cannot change the tire to my spare. I did not remove my wheel lock and Keyes lexus said they didn't either. I called Aaa again to send a tow truck and I will have it towed to Keyes Lexus. So, I am waiting for another two hours on the street in Hollywood in front of an apartment building. United sent another driver to change the tire and this driver said he is letting their dispatch know that I need a tow truck instead. Dispatch lady from United said it will be another 45 minutes to an hour. At this point it was afternoon. I called Aaa again and the second driver told me to call United dispatch again so I called both told them that I was on the street at that time over 3 hours. United told Aaa that it will be another 20 minutes they are sorry but they are receiving high volume of calls but driver is on his way. Okay so I kept waiting and around 1pm I had received a text messages from Aaa that United has canceled, not coming and they are trying to find another service provider. Long story short: I waited from 9:30am to 1:30pm for a tow truck today. If United wasn't able to provide a tow truck they should of told me and Aaa earlier so another provider would of been called, once their second driver left. This is unbelievable and ridiculous. I was 4 hours late to work. I took Lyft to work and from there I took lyft to Keyes Lexus since they are the only ones with wheel lock and my tires are under warranty. Had I known that Aaa contracts unreliable towing companies I would of called Lexus road side assistance back since that would of been 90 minutes wait instead of 4 hours. I still cannot believe this. I just cant. I explained to Aaa if it's an hour or two in pouring rain I would of understand delays but four hours in sunny weather in Hollywood? this isn't a way to treat a loyal customer who pays for Aaa membership every year for 20 years and we hardly ever use our memberships since we have newer cars, except for this type of emergencies. All these has cost me a lot more than one flat tire because of United. I will follow up with Aaa next week since I have several witnesses and receipts in case I have to file small claims. They shouldn't have contractor who cannot provide a tow truck to Aaa members. I don't know any other towing companies serving Hollywood that cannot provide a tow truck in 4 hours. From the apartment building 5068 Franklin very nice people started asking me if I was all right and they even offered water. They couldn't believe this either once I told them what's happening. I cannot imagine what if I was in a bad neighborhood of LA and if something would of happen to me or my car in four hours waiting? Driver Juan had to consult the dispatcher before he agreed to help. He made an offer for a particular plan to recover my wife's truck after an accident. A little adjustment was necessary and I asked Juan if he had to stop trying but he said he was not going to quit on me. Possibly the worst towing experience I've ever had in my entire life. I called triple AAA and waited for my 67 mercury cougar to be picked up. I was told one hour. My phone had died so I borrowed someone's to call after an hour and some change passed - only to be told the driver was waiting for 15 minutes. Not a single person arrived or showed up, I was outside the given address stranded for 2+ hours. Then I called triple A again and United refused the tow leaving me completely stranded. They really came through when I was in a pinch. My car broke down @ Burbank Airport on the top level of the parking structure. They came out when they said they were somewhere between 20 and 30 min. And got me out of there quick. This was no average tow either. The driver had to negotiate several really tight turns and low overhead the whole way...and he did it with style and grace. After that it was smooth sailing all the way home to Whittier. The truck was clean and in good working order and the driver was courteous. The price was a bargain for the time and effort it took.
