She does the work you'd expect, goes above and beyond when she can tell I could use the extra help, and my place always looks and smells really nice when she's done. But my favorite thing about her is that she's so non-judgmental. On occasions when my home is a wreck, she is just helpful and friendly and helps me get things back in order without adding to the type of shame we already all put on ourselves when our homes are a mess. "Decluttering" turned out to be taking my trash to the recycling room in my building, and "organizing" was randomly stuffing things into the way too many totebags I have, and neatly jamming the bags wherever they fit. After some discussion, they sent one worker to help me fix the matter, and I wish he had been the one to come to my apartment in the beginning to assess the job, because he seemed to understand the meanings of the words "declutter" and "organize", and we got a good bit done. But there are still a lot of bags that have to pulled back out and sorted through -- an estimated two days work with a professional organizer at about half (per hour) of what Home Clean Home charged me. My fault was in not doing due diligence, and getting some other quotes *before* I agreed to HCH's ridiculous cost.

No one responded to my email that was sent the day before my service asking what time I could expect someone. I had to book a two-hour window (8-10am) and I asked if I needed to wait the entire time for someone. Someone replied and said that I would receive a 30 minute notice before the cleaner arrive (so I still would have had to wait two hours either way?) I replied to that email and asked about a specific time frame and received no response. The next day, the day of my service, I did not receive a 30 minute advanced notice, she just showed up at my door at 8:30am. She did not come with any supplies as the website stated. She only dusted the tops of furniture and did not wipe anything down. She didn't put anything back in its place and I had to go through my apartment and put things away where they belonged after she left. Even organizing things would have been helpful. I specifically asked that she lift the rug in my bedroom to mop the floor underneath and she said she would. When I got home, I checked and this wasn't done. She furiously grabbed the mop and did it quickly in a hurry, while speaking on the phone. A few days later, I received a text message to my personal phone saying that I had a balance due but with no instructions on how to pay it until I asked. Not a single email communication with them stated how I pay for the service. I asked how to pay it was and I was sent a Venmo image and that's it. I replied TWICE to the text message requesting the information over email and have yet to receive a response from anyone. I don't know what experience everyone else had, but mine was terrible and I will never use this service again.

We came back at the time that he told us, if he wasn't done then, that is not on us, and we were glad to wait however long needed. It simply wasn't communicated. For example, if he didn't want us there while he was cleaning, he could have given us a time to come back when he was done, finished on time, or simply asked for more time before we came back. We're sorry if stopping by, tipping him, and saying good work caused an uncomfortable environment. 2. We knew about the cabinet and could have explicitly mentioned it in the email, however not only is it clearly not a cabinet that we managed to not break in 2 years, but the details mentioned in our emails were loosely paid attention to so I'm not sure it would have done any good. 3. "Set up to fail" is an odd way of defending this kind of cleaning work. I called him while the work was being done. He told me to let him know as soon as the work was completed, and he'd be happy to do a walkthrough for me and squeeze me in so I could get home ASAP. He went to my apartment with his assistant and filmed the walkthrough and sent me the videos. It wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be, but it was still a job that would be too much for me to handle on my own. I knew if I hired Patrick, I could just walk back into my apartment as though nothing had happened. And that is EXACTLY what happened! He spent 1 full day and a morning cleaning the place from top to bottom. Everything was put back precisely according to pictures. I had done a lot of covering of closets, etc., because I was scared my building wouldn't do an adequate job. We had left it that he would check whether or not the inside of closets or cabinets needed to be done once he started the job.
