Spoke to Michelle about getting an estimate on a fan blower for a gas fireplace. Was told no charge to estimate job. Guy came and charged me $75 for the estimate. Spoke to owner who refunded amount, although very arrogant. This is not an honest way to do business. They seem to try to charge customers when they think they can get away with it, regardless of what they tell you up front. Competition doesn't charge for an estimate, why would you say one thing a do another. No integrity or straightforward approach. Use another company. read more

We had a problem with our gas fireplace and had a local company come fix it. They charged $450 and said they hope it works. It did when they left...but after two more times using it, the same problem kept happening. (It would not light). We called Unmatched Fireplace Services and they came and fixed it. James was the tech that came. He was professional and polite and knew exactly what the problem was. We can enjoy our fireplace once again!! From the moment we called to get work done on our pilot and switch change to the time Peter our service tech arrived we could not have been more satisfied. Peter arrived right on scheduled time and as he was walking in the door immediately ( without us asking) removed his shoes on this rainy morning. Peter was wonderful he explained to me about gas fireplaces and how they should be serviced (cleaned) yearly. He cleaned and had our unit back working in under an hour. He was courteous and removed his shoes upon entering It did take a while to get an appointment, but I'm sure they are very busy this time of year. read more

I am so happy I found unmatched fireplace service. My Vendota direct vent fireplace was installed by a different company that no longer has a service dept. James the technician arrived on time and took his shoes off without me having to ask. Totally professional, very knowledgeable, and personable. Also left my den cleaner than before he arrived! Explained everything to me. Went above and beyond a basic seasonal service call. Fixed an issue where the fireplace wouldn't light for minutes. Word of advice- call early in the season. They are so good that they get busy very quickly and you may have to wait for an appt. So glad I found this company. Patrick from Unmatched Inc. arrived as scheduled - letting us know exactly where he was before he arrived. He was courteous, personable & used necessary personal precautions to protect us & himself. Our non-venting gas fireplace would not maintain a flame. Patrick quickly diagnosed the problem & got to work. He gave the unit a thorough cleaning & tested the unit until he was satisfied it worked perfectly. He then educated us about why the unit had clogged, put new batteries in the unit & the remote start & repaired some of the minor things in the unit. Showed us the necessary issues to look for going forward. We were very satisfied with the service & repair & extremely impressed by Patrick - he is knowledgeable and even took pictures of the parts needed for our unit so his company can have these parts available if we ever run into trouble again! read more

They converted my propane fire place to natural gas. I was waiting for the part for 6 months. After the conversation the fire place never worked the same. I called so many times that lady Michelle that works there and every time she will send a tech to tell me that I need another part and another part andddd another part. Every time I would say go ahead fix it. After paying over $1000 with the conversion and all the changes parts my fireplace still doesnt work. Last time I called the place and spoke to Michelle to tell her that it doesn't work she told me that my unit is 20 years old and not to except much. Definitely poor customer service and don't have knowledge of the product. read more

James arrived today for the repair of our fireplace -- after calling 25 minutes before his arrival, taking off his shoes at the door and draping a cloth at the fireplace he quickly got to work. He worked efficiently and was very professional through the whole process. Never having owned a gas fireplace, James answered all of our questions -- he sealed up the gaping hole with HVAC tape, replaced the module, replaced the wire on the wall switch, took the logs apart and cleaned each one, replaced the embers and thoroughly vaccumed the inside of the unit and finished by cleaning the front and back screen. We were thrilled to have the fireplace back in operation and kept it on most of the day. It is worth mentioning that the price of the work was extremely reasonable after not having the fireplace looked at in over 6 years -- $360). Thank you Michelle for calling us and moving our appointment up 3 weeks. James was a pleasure to have in our home as we talked mostly about football and Fireplace 101 lessons! From the first phone call to make the appointment for my annual fireplace cleaning/servicing, Michelle was very helpful. I booked my appointment for a month later and was given a 3 hour window. I received a phone call the day before the appointment to confirm it. On the day of the appointment, Michelle called and gave me another update regarding the arrival time, and another after that when the serviceman was on the way. The serviceman was friendly, neat, respectful, knowledgeable and personable. I have been using this company for several years and have never been disappointed. Every serviceman that has been sent is truly a professional. One of the best service companies I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Problem with my Valor fireplace. As the company who installed it is no longer in business it required multiple calls to multiple service companies to find one that was willing to service a fireplace they did not install. Unmatched agreed to provide service and they drove into Brooklyn (a 2 hour drive), too. The technician explained the problem, replaced the part and made some recommendations. Unfortunately I continued to have problems. I called and spoke with the receptionist and made another appointment. To make a long story short, after multiple visits, contacts with their Valor dealer and with Valor directly we still could not get the fireplace working properly. Eventually they were able to get confirmation that the replaced part was defective and being recalled. It took multiple visits (I lost count), multiple phone calls and about 9 months, but finally my fireplace is up and running as it should! A shout-out to the technicians, James and Patrick, who were extraordinary in that they were respectful and courteous, and even covered the floor near the fireplace every time they entered my home. Michelle, the receptionist, was also at all times polite and helpful as we tried to get this resolved. Yes, the parts had a cost to replace, but Unmatched stood by their commitment to repair the fireplace and after the first service charge they never required any additional fees. I highly recommend Unmatched Fireplace. This is the 3rd year I have used their service and I am very pleased. Michelle in the office set up my appointment and called me the day before the technician was scheduled to confirm the arrival time window (i.e. 12PM-3PM). The tech, Steve, was professional and very neat. He took the time to make sure I knew how to operate my fireplace and he went over the procedure to start the fireplace if there was a power failure. He vacuumed the inside, replaced the "embers", cleaned the glass and fixed my pilot light. I could not be more pleased with the service. read more
