We will most definitely be looking elsewhere for the rest of renovations. This was our awful experience: It took a week for Joe to get a hold of the template guy to schedule an appointment for which he never showed up. Joe, of course, did not take the blame or apologize for the no show. When the measurements were finally taken we were told by Joe that it would be less than 2 weeks to fabricate. Four weeks later and after countless unanswered messages from Joe, we finally got the word our counter was ready (by calling ourselves- don't expect them to do their job). We scheduled the install and they showed up without the back splash because, according to the installer, they broke it while cutting (when we asked Joe why we were told it was all done if it had broke while cutting he changed his story saying it broke while loading onto the truck). We were underwhelmed with the product and installation. There was a large gap left between the wall and counter top. We complained & Joe said the side splash (which we did NOT want or order, but apparently paid for) would cover it- we had no choice but to use the side splash at this point. We just got the back splash and side splash installed and they are too short for the counter top. I expected everything to be perfect considering it took a month for a 60" vanity top. Precision is important in this industry, but apparently not to Gem. The polish on the stone is not good, the measurements taken were not correct and Joe was an absolute horror to deal with. They take no responsibility for their mistakes and they did not reduce the price for our troubles and the poor quality of their stone or offer us a corrected back splash for their measuring error. Save yourself a lot of stress, wasted time and money... go elsewhere.

We moved into a home with 3 gas fireplaces so on occasion we need service. A contractor working on our home turned off the gas in our den fireplace. I knew how to restart my other two fireplaces, but the den unit was electronic. The service fee was $295 which seemed outrageous but let me continue. The tech, Geraldo (Jerry) came in. He wore booties from the front door to my interior. He laid out a quilted drop cloth and began the process of starting my fireplace. After getting the fireplace running, he shut it down and carefully removed the glass panel, disassembled the decorative logs, vacuumed with a filtered shop vac, then windexed the glass before reassembling the unit. At every turn, Jerry was precise and took incredible pride in his work. I had questions about operating the remote which he expertly explained. I asked how much training he received and he explained it was extensive. I absolutely marveled at how good the service call was. I hope the company realizes how good Jerry is and wish all my service experiences in life were similar.

He went through each step and helped us to pick out all the details from handles to hinges. The installation was very neat and beautifully done. Before our fireplace was just a black hole and now it is beautiful with black doors with silver accents. It adds so much to the living room and we are so happy with all the help and service we received from Westbury Stove & Fireplace.

I was initially agreeable to their pricing structure because I was told that it included repairs beyond regular maintenance, but their technician came today, literally swapped out the filter, and then outlined all of the additional maintenance that was required for additional cost. When we were walking past the men while going in to the adjoining showroom, one man looked up and said hello. It is rather strange how not one of them got up and asked if we needed help.
