Recently, I had an "oh snap" moment when my iPhone got slightly damp in the headphone jack and wasn't responding unless I used the speaker or headphone function. Yeah, it was definitely one of those SMH moments. Not to fear, Uno Wireless cured my blues within an hour. I dealt with Scott, the owner, who had years of experience in cell phone repairs especially with iPhones. After dropping off my iPhone, he required a $25 down payment to diagnosis the problem and afterwards pay the difference if it was repairable when you pick it up. In my case, the total cost was $65 to have the water logged headphone jack cleaned and repaired. He mentioned if the phone was not repairable, I would be charged for the initial $25 to diagnosis the problem. Totally fair. I walked around Newport Avenue to kill an hour and came back to be pleasantly surprised that my phone was operational and paid the additional $40 for the repairs. Scott was quick and reliable which are two traits that are hard to come by now and days. If I ever have any of those "oh snap" moments, I will definitely return back to Uno Wireless to have my phone repaired. read more

Please read: buyer beware. Read all of the one star reviews for this place! Only speaking for the repair portion of this shop. They will sell you a USED PHONE BATTERY. Here is my story. I went in to have a Iphone battery replaced, it was a 3 year old phone-but something was draining my battery. For $59 I purchased a new one (FYI it's $49.00 at the apple store but because of time constraints that wasn't an option). When the phone was returned, it didn't work properly. No speaker/camera/Touch ID, also- after a full night/12hrs of charging it only reached 99%, and not 100% which I thought was weird. I brought it back to the store the next day and he took it back to work on it. He replaced the screen "free of charge". Just asked for a tip, I left him $20 (I figured my icare replacement would of been $30, and they didn't even ask my permission to change the screen, but yes- there was a small crack in the corner, and I did think that was nice of them). Thinking my phone was fixed, I went on with my day. However My phone still wasn't back to how I originally brought it to the Uno store. So I made an appointment with apple repair. I Brought it in the next day; with the original phone battery in tote. They explained to me that the "new" battery was USED; had 85% left and had 439 charges on it already. (Apple store sells brand new ones 100% with 800-1000 charges). They also said that the way it was taken out (appeared pried out to the technician, which is an incorrect way to take a battery out-you peel the white labels back and the battery just pops out, however- it appeared my battery was forced out and damaged, he thought might explain why my screen wasn't working, when it had been before the battery switch. the original battery could not be used again because of the damage they did to it when taking it out, and was considered a fire hazard in its condition. To be fair, because this is my neighborhood/local shop, I called the shop to have them explain why they sold me a USED iPhone battery, and to replace the USED battery for a NEW battery -which is what I Paid for. I have yet to hear back from the manager. That was a week+ ago. Do NOT use this place for repairs. They are scammers and don't know what they are doing when it comes to phone repairs. read more

First, I confess I am very hard on small gadgets and basically anything not encased in titanium. This afternoon, I was at wits end, a whole day with tech support, trying to get my Page Plus phone functioning. Page plus people are apparently trained to pretend they speak some made up language made up of beeps and snorts, then transfer you to still another tormentor. So anyway, I was pretty close to bouncing this marvel of electronic mayhem off of a busy intersection. The gentlemen at UNO took my information, sent me off for a half hour and somehow made my phone functional!! Very kind, patient people and I will not hesitate to return when this phone meets an untimely end.. Why can't phones be made of the stuff airline black boxes are? First time in the 10 years of owning an iPhone I've ever broken a screen. So this is foreign to me. I had a super great experience here at uno wireless! Calming atmosphere and clean shop. Little to no wait, and I was able to walk in and have the glass repaired. I live and work here in ocean beach and keeping my money spread across the small business here is important to me, a huge bonus that this place was cheaper than any other place friends recommended to me. I had a great experience, my phone was done in under an hour, cost me about 100 bucks and it looks and feels just like it did out of the box! I took my phone here to fix my screen twice. The first time they told me it would take 20min. I came back an hour later and my phone was not done. After 2hours I got my phone back. It worked great and they did a good job. But... Yesterday I took my iPhone into get my screen fixed for a second time. I knew that they lie about how long it takes but I thought I would give them a second chance. yet again I told them I had to work in an hour and that i couldn't be without my phone. When I came in 40 minutes later it still wasn't ready! Then when I got it back it looked great. However when I got home my camera wasn't working so I took it back and asked them to take a look at it. They said sorry and said it was something to do with my software. When I left I thought to myself maybe it was a coincidence and that I should go buy a new phone. While at the apple store today I had the Mac genius try to fix it. The Mac genius said whoever replaced my case had destroy a component inside and that he couldn't fix it. In the end I brought in a phone that had a camera that worked and after going to UNO Wireless I now have a smartphone with a broken camera! I'm really bummed on this place. I'd rather have a cracked screen than lose my ability to use my camera!!! read more

I can't speak for other devices, but if you have an iPhone, skip this place and just go to Apple to get it fixed! I wrote the review while in the store the first time for $5 off, but the work hasn't held up, which is why I'm editing the review. I had to go back in a couple days later to have the headphone jack fixed, then back a couple weeks later to have the screen fixed because it wasn't working well: it was getting less and less sensitive to touch and I kept having to turn the screen off to make it through a text. Each time he wanted to keep the phone for an hour. Now, a week later, the 2nd screen on the phone is bowing in the middle and so the touch screen doesn't work well there. I've never had an issue with my phone screen before. He DID offer for me to bring it back in (and he's a nice guy, which is why I gave 2 stars), but I don't trust the work/products anymore. No refund, I'm out $64 and a few hours for my phone to not work well for a month. Off to Apple to pay for this again to have a working touch screen... read more

Great friendly people looking to help people out. I recently lost my phone and needed something to hold me over until my contract expires in 1 month. I walked into Unto Wireless and was greeted by two very nice gentlemen. I feel like it was a father/son duo but I could be wrong. I told them my story (lost phone on vacation) and they sympathized immediately. The owner ended up selling me a used phone for $50 less then what I had already agreed to over the phone a threw in the tax. Having had a bad last two days, these acts of kindness made me feel better and it was the principle of helping someone out not the $50 that turned my day around. I bought an iPhone 6 which comes with a SIM card programmed to access T-Mobile networks. However, since I use Page Plus Cellular (and save $50 per month over a Verizon contract), I needed a Verizon SIM card. The owner of Uno Wireless quickly replaced the SIM card and activated the phone for me for $25. I called a dozen dealers listed on Page Plus' web site but none of them would do this simple task. I will return to this store for every cell phone need because of their competence and fair prices. read more

Yeah, so broke my iPhone 6 twice within the last month. Fixed it the first time no problem. Second time I broke the screen again and my touch sensor went out. They fixed it again no problem. Always same day turn around usually within the hour! I purchased the screen fix, a glass screen protector, and a new case all for cheaper than what my phone company's insurance was going to charge me just to fix the screen! Upgraded my phone a couple of days ago and then all of a sudden it can't make calls, text or access internet unless there's wifi. Took it in on my lunch break and he found the problem right away.
