A must do when visiting Chicago! The tour was excellent!! Very informative and learnt some old school gangster history of Chicago. Definitely lots of surprising facts revealed. The tour was undertaken in a comfortable and modern mini van travelling and stopping at various locations in Chicago's city South, North and West sides. The tour was scheduled for approximately 1.5 hours though was more like 2 hours. Above all the 2 tour guides were amazing. Really fun for the whole family. We took our tweens. Our tour guides were great! Learned some fun facts of the era and of the town.

Had been to Chicago a few times and always saw the mob tour buses and had to do it on this trip. So glad I picked Untouchables. The bus was comfortable, the driver and guide stayed in character the entire trip, and showed me a lot of Chicago With the stories behind it. The 90 mins went by fast as they entertained us the whole time. My only suggestion to improve the trip would be to put some pictures on the bus monitor so you can see how things use to look as you drive by. The tour was great and I even won a prize. We learned a lot about Al Capone and the other important characters of the Prohibition Era. We enjoyed seeing where important events like the St. Valentines Day massacre occurred. As others have mentioned, this tour deals with a lot of places that are no longer there. The late mayor (Daley the Elder) was so concerned about the image of Chicago that he did everything he could do to tear down structures that related to the age of the gangsters. He did nothing to change the history of the town, nor did he abate the appetite of those that want to learn about it. Boss Daley didn't have a clue it seems. Ah well.. Having said that, the tour visits areas of the city that most tours dont, and the presentation, which runs about two hours is entertaining. Fun, educational and hilarious. Our tour guides, Shoulder, and Dimples were very charismatic and funny especially with they're puns.

It's not a terrible tour, but it's also not good. I find the mobster lifestyle fascinating and decided to go on this tour while vacationing in Chicago. The tour guides dress as mobsters themselves and have funny "mobster" nicknames. I believe they are what makes the tour. I'm my opinion, the two guides try too hard, and it comes across as forced and over the top, nothing genuine. It would be perfect if it were a bus full of 6 year olds. The driver, "Shoulders," did a good job in the driving and during his speaking part. The guide, "Matches Malone," yelled into the microphone the entire time, to the point where my ears were ringing by the end of the tour, and yes, I was right by the speaker, but still, he could be heard perfectly fine without the microphone, as loud as he was yelling. I did learn some things about Chicago and was impressed by the guides' knowledge on the mobster scene during prohibition, but you don't actually see anything, with the exception of the church, some pillars on the building next to where a mobster front-business used to be but it's now a parking lot, and a quick drive by the alley where Dillinger was killed. I work at a Concierge desk on Michigan ave. I had 4 guests from Germany that wanted to learn more about the "Gangster Era" in Chicago, so of course I suggested the Untouchable Tour. The problem was, my computer was taking forever so I called to get the up dated information. unfortunately the woman that answer the phone was horribly rude! Short, one word answers to my question, like she was wasting her time talking to me. Then when I asked if the tour still started at "The Rock & Roll McDonald's" she lectured me over and over that "it's not called that anymore". It will always be called that by the locals, we call Sears Tower, Sears Tower. We KNOW it's Willis, but if your from Chicago, it's Sears Tower. If they got into a cab and said "Rock and Roll McDonald's, do you think the cab driver is going to know where to take them? Of course he is!! Why will I send anyone over to this tour, if I know the Tour Operators will be rude. I want people visiting this city to have a good time. read more

Our family, including 10 and 17-year-old, enjoyed this tour very much. We loved the Italian accent of the tour guides and the gangster look too! They were funny, knowledgeable, and told us many little details of gangsters' lives. We've learnt a lot about old times as well as about current Chicago. We came only for two days visit, so driving around the city was great to see more than the core of Chicago downtown. My husband and I were in town for a short weekend getaway. On a whim we decided to try an Untouchable Tour. We had a lot of fun! I was surprised how much I learned - the history of these gangsters as well as the city itself. Our driver and tour guide were both entertaining. I was impressed how committed our tour guide was to his "gangster role". Most of his jokes were corny, but they had the bus laughing and in good spirits. I plan on going back next time we are visiting the city with our kids. It really was a great experience. read more

Disappointing experience. Arrived early as the website recommended. A party of 20 had made reservations, and only 4 of them showed up on time. The tour was delayed nearly 20 minutes for the rest of the people to arrive. We finally left without them, but a call was received that they finally arrived at the start point. The bus actually turned back to pick up the people. Disappointing that the tour prioritized the entertainment of the late arrivals over those who showed up on time. Overall, Chicago's history is amazing. I would just seek it elsewhere. read more

i don't know what i was expecting to get with this tour. yeah it sounds like fun but really you just get driven around the city in a school bus with the tour guides telling you a story every now and then. while the guides were very good story tellers it was hard to pay attention because i was too busy falling asleep. definitely some interesting facts learned about the history of chicago. would i go again?...probably not. read more

I give it one star for the historical references, and interesting stories about Chicago gansters. Can't recommend to others though, here's why: the schtick is a bit tired, , the bus is old, and the AC doesn't work- to the point where the majority of folks on the tour couldnt wait for it to end (and there are many hotter days than the one we went on), Look- I'm all for guys making a living, but I felt there could have been more effort, and things could have been done more creatively (note the b and w reference paper) Its kind of factory like- $30 a head, do some schtick, drive around, get them off- get the next group on... repeat... read more

We loved it. Corny jokes and a lot of interaction made it great! I didn't get a lot of pictures because most of the time I was sitting on the wrong side of the bus but it was still quite memorable. Would recommend this to anyone with any kind of interest in the Chicago mob scene. I moved from Chicago 23 years ago and was very well versed on the locations and stories and would still say this is one of the 'must do' tours if you plan a visit to my former city. "Shoulders" and "Winky" play in full character. Best I could tell from his accent is "Shoulders" is a west side guy, quick wit and great story teller and made the trip very enjoyable for everyone. The locations are still there, but a lot of the buildings no longer exist, so not much you can do about that. They do a very good job of bringing it back to life. read more

So much fun! Tour guides were great. Sound system glitched and they had to use the old loudspeaker version, but I could still hear fine.

Tour company left us. Tour company sent the following as meeting instructions: All tours depart from the 600 block of North Clark (Clark and Ohio). The Gangster Bus will pick up on the Clark street side in front of the 2-story McDonald's. Please note, we do not have an office or sign at that location. Guests should arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled tour time and will be checked in by the tour guide. Tours will leave promptly at tour time. We were at this location 15 minutes prior to departure. At exactly 7pm we noticed an Untouchables bus down another block at a stop light. I ran to catch it, but light turned green. We called the number in the tour company's email multiple times (even searched online for an alternate number) and only received an answering machine. After waiting another 15 minutes we finally took an Uber back to our hotel. $24 in wasted Uber rides and wasted 1 of the 3 nights in Chicago. When someone finally called back the next day they said the new meeting spot was around the corner due to construction. And I was supposed to know that, how? I was clearly standing where the email said the meeting spot was. And since I prepaid and you asked for my phone number and my hotel, why didn't someone call to ask if we were lost or still coming? I requested a discount on the next night's tour since I had spent $24 on Uber only to be left on a street. The lady on the phone was nice but said she couldn't get a hold of anyone to authorize that until Tuesday (this was Saturday). You run a tourism-oriented business but you don't have anyone that can make a customer service decision on a weekend? Okay. All in all, very disappointed in this company. I gave them the chance to make it right and they didn't. We talked to another woman that received the same email instructions and was also left on the street. Scary enough to be in a strange city left on the street with my grown kids, must have been really frightening for that lady. read more

Absolutely THE BEST TOUR I've taken in the past 100 years - and I've taken tours from Prague (ghost tour at midnite- very very good) to NYC to Kyoto, Japan. But this is THE BEST - animated, hilarious, - you are visiting the actual sites and feel you are back in the 1920's with this excellent actor gangster "Rocky" and his sidekick the bus driver "Nails" --- I could write for an hour but not convey properly how enjoyable and funny it is to do this excellent tour! Good job. Tour left promptly on time. Got full tour and a few minutes over, wasn't rushed, and lots of good information. Nice back and forth banter between the bus driver and tour guide on the bus. They stayed in character and played off each other well. Good narration and interaction with the folks on the bus. Funny stories, good humor, and trivia. At the end, there was a raffle and three prizes. Nice. No troubles hearing them as a strong PA system made every seat a winner. Good way to see other parts of Chicago off the beaten path, ethnic neighborhoods, and find out all kinds of interesting trivia on the infamous gangsters of the 1920s-1930s. If you can only do two tours of Chicago due to time/expenses, do this one and the 75 min. speedboat architecture tour of the city. The two will give you a good lay of the land and History from different perspectives. read more

The tour guides are what really make this tour fun. They fully get into character for the entire tour. They are funny, entertaining, interactive and their stories are interesting. The trip around the city is kind of boring, most of the spots where famous gang activity occurred have been torn down and/or rebuilt so you don't really get to see any interesting buildings. This can be kind of a good thing though. If your trip to Chicago is a fast-paced, activity-filled experience, it's nice to sit down for 2 hours, get off your feet and enjoy a bus ride around the city. I would recommend it! read more
