Korean short ribs
Grace M.

I met a friend here on a Saturday night and it was busy! There's plenty of parking out front. They have outdoor seating and also seating at the bar in addition to the space inside. Our server was attentive and explained everything to us. I love that they have many options for drinks- wine on tap, bottles, beers and cocktails. I would like to see more gin cocktails in the future. I ended up getting a dirty martini and it was nice and strong. I love the variety of menu and that everything is tapas style. I got the Korean short ribs and I was a little disappointed. Not much Korean flavor other than sesame seeds and scallions on top. The meat was not as tender as I wished for and it was way salty for my taste. The potatoes were nice and cheesy. We also got some fries and they were crispy and nicely seasoned. I love the dipping sauce it came with. We ended the night with some bread pudding and it was fine, nothing too special. Overall, I like the vibe and the service was good. I would like to come back and try some other items!

Butternut Squash soup of the day!

unWine'd & Tap has quickly become one of our favorite spots whether it's for a date night or for bringing friends to impress. It's got excellent food and a welcoming vibe that makes us want to become regulars here. The waitstaff here are especially friendly and pleasant, making you feel genuinely welcome. The wine flights are a standout, especially for my wife. She's always excited to see what's on rotation, and it's a fun way to try something new without the commitment of a full glass. As for me, I'm all about the food, and the kitchen here really knows what it's doing. The menu is updated often with weekly specials to keep things interesting. The short ribs are a favorite of mine: perfectly cooked, tender, and loaded with flavor. When I remember to take photos, everything I've had has been a 5-star experience. The chicken pot pie is popular right now as it hits all the right notes for a cold winter evening with its flaky crust and rich filling. Portions are on the smaller side, but everything's so well-prepared it's worth slowing down to savor each bite. I also really enjoy the variety of soups. The Tomato Basil is a hearty and chunky staple, and I wish the Butternut Squash wasn't only available on rotation. The only downside is that it gets loud when the place is slightly busy, so I can't imagine how loud it gets when it's packed. The industrial decor tends to echo and amplify the voices of everyone around you, so bring your outdoor voice if you want to be heard over the crowd (which arguably just makes the problem worse). TL;DR: Great food, friendly staff, and wine flights worth coming back for.

There new menu is even better than expected. Enjoyed another wonderful night with great service and good drinks.

Lovely wine bar restaurant with a delicious bacon flight and nice options for tap wine flights. Loved the ambiance and thought the server was super friendly! Definitely would go back!

My husband and I came here for date night. It was fun to try the wine and whiskey flights so we could get the full experience without overdoing it. The small plates are good, the only one we didn't love was the pimento cheese, it was a tiny little scoop for the price. The chicken pot pie was really good and the fried green tomato stack was okay, but the cornmeal was a little too gritty for my taste. The service was okay, the staff seemed very young and not super experienced. There wasn't anything bad, just nothing to write home about.

Umm with wine in the name I expected better. Tried a 4-choice flight with a mix of standard and reserve options. Only two of the four were drinkable and the other two were mid. Food presentation was very disappointing and taste wasn't much better. My filet sandwich on ciabatta loaf was hard a rock and dry. The fillet was cooked properly but came out lukewarm. My husband had the Korean short rib which he described as shredded brisket over overcooked potatoes sitting in grease. So if you're used to eating out downtown Duluth or comparable, don't bother. Sorry but you'll be disappointed.

The food was amazing! Went on Valentine's Day! Not overly crowded, but bustling and service was great! We had a sweet waitress, unfortunately I can't remember her name, but she was on top of it! We shared the bacon flight, fried burrata, and filet ciabatta, which were all scrumptious! We then ordered dessert: bread pudding. Sadly, it was terrible. It was dry, with only a sparse amount of the bourbon glaze. We sent it back and got the chocolate chip skillet cookie, which was divine!! The cookie was freshly baked and served al a mode! Will definitely be returning soon! Don't miss this gem of a restaurant in Suwanee!!! #unWine'd & Tap Suwanee #localeats #deliciousfood

"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.

Their menu has food, drink, and hookah options. They had nothing on the menu except for Suya; so, we didn't have food. The drinks were pretty good and reasonably priced, given that they were served in plastic cups. The hookah was pretty good and lasted awhile. The sign would advise they open at 5, but doors wouldn't open until nearly an hour later. They would frequently do grocery runs to Walmart then charge you the same amount for items such as wings that were clearly different and finally arrived right before they close the lounge. So you literally had to box them, then pay your bill to close..... With that said, The recent visit I made last week was MUCH better. Decor of this locale is real loungy and sleek. Nice ambiance for a Gwinnett experience...The staff is very pleasant, and the Siracha wings are amazing!!! Presentation was so simple but nice... My friend got another chicken dish, that kinda looked like a Cordon Bleu, and that was quite tasty as well. Drinks are fair, (tiny portions with ice), and the music is good. Mix of African/Reggae/HipHop. In all, I recommend this place if the consistency stays like this....but I had to be honest about my previous experiences.

The prices were so outrageously high I started wondering if I was accidentally buying shares in the restaurant instead of ordering a steak. Then, before I could even process the emotional damage, I noticed they had already slapped an automatic tip on the receipt. Bold move. Usually people wait until after they've earned it. I would give a better tip at Texas Roadhouse, a real American Dining. The steak arrived looking like it had lost a fight with the shrink ray from Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. I've seen bigger samples at Costco. It was somehow both tiny and salty as shit, which is an impressive achievement in all the wrong ways. The mac and cheese tasted like someone whispered the words "cheddar" and "seasoning" into the kitchen and called it a day. I've had more flavorful ice cubes. At one point I looked down at my plate and genuinely wondered if this was the kids' menu portion by mistake. As we departed this fine establishment, I felt as though the restaurant had not merely emptied my wallet, but reached into my very soul and repossessed my financial future. My pocket had a hole in it by the time I left, my stomach was disappointed, and my dad deserved an apology letter from the chef. If Shakespeare himself had dined here, Hamlet would've been five acts of him debating whether "to eat, or not to eat." Save your money, grill a steak at home, and season your mac and cheese with literally anything. It'll taste better, cost less, and you won't need a small business loan just to celebrate Father's Day.

**This review is specifically for Overstory Rooftop Brunch**…read more Made a solo reservation on a Sunday to have brunch before seeing a show. The good parts didn't outweigh the not-so-good for me. 1. Located on the 9th floor of The Westin, BUT, parking is mad affordable, which is a big relief as usually hotel rooftops have a static valet parking fee for $25 or more. There is a garage right in front of the entrance and its 5 bucks for up to 4 hours. 2. Views - decent enough for the 9th floor, but mostly overlooks trees and some highways. There isn't much to actually look at as far as a skyline. I was here in the daytime though, maybe at night with whatever city lights coming in, it may be a lil more charming. 3. Ambience - the inside was really nice, the tables were big and seating was comfy, a combo of cushioned chairs and velvety booths or couches. nice decor, and the outside portion of the rooftop also seemed very spacious, with a big main area as well as seating & a few more tables down the side of the building. I went during the yacht rock brunch period, so there was a live DJ spinning old hits from the 70s/80s. the music was at a cool volume, not so loud that you can't hear anyone speak, but not too low like background music - loud enough that you feel like its okay to vibe out. 4. Food & Service - this is where it fell apart for me. when i was seated, it took about 15-20 minutes for my waitress to come and ask me what i wanted to drink. when she finally did, i realized this same woman had walked past me several times before, on the way to do nothing in particular. she didn't introduce herself but was polite. she brought out my coffee and took my order, it took an hour for my food to come out. and the place wasn't crowded. only 2 couples sitting outside and about 40% capacity ithe indoor section where I was. and the food was subpar. it all came out hot, BUT. chicken sausage was hard to bite because casing was burnt and tough. eggs were cooked with so much butter it just tasted like i was eating fluffy butter. biscuit was dry and couldn't possibly be homemade. 'parmesan potatoes' had a few sad dried dots of cheese and parsley but no seasoning whatsoever. i forced myself to eat about half. I live far from Duluth, so really no reason to come back. Maybe a nighttime hang with drinks only, on the outdoor terrace would be a slightly better experience. But I don't have to find out.

I was really looking forward to trying the oysters, but I didn't realize their menu changes often so unfortunately, no oysters this time. A little sad about that! We decided to order pretty much everything off the à la carte menu. Overall, the food was just okay to me. The Brussels sprouts were the hardest to eat they were basically raw, just thinly sliced with sauce poured over. It would've been much better if they were at least steamed or grilled a bit. The mushrooms, though, were absolutely BOMB! If I didn't know what it was, I would've thought it was some sort of meat dish super soft, flavorful, and delicious. Definitely the highlight of the meal. The Wagyu, on the other hand, was a big disappointment. For the price, it was tough and chewy when it should've been buttery and melt-in-your-mouth tender. I placed an order for everything on the carte menu. Food was fun and a few of the dishes caught me off guard, in a good way. Pros. We loveeed the maitake mushrooms. This dish was one dish my friend and I had low expectations for. Ironically it's the only dish we would go back for! The bucatini I also had low expectations for. I hardly order pasta, from non pasta specialty places, because the pasta is 99% of the time going to be overcooked. BUT this bucatini was cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce was rich but not too heavy and just enough to cover the noodles without drowning. The crab taste was pretty faint. If it weren't listed on the menu I wouldn't even think it were in the dish. Cons. The brussel sprout salad was honestly almost inedible. It is a raw shaved brussel sprout salad, dressed as a Caesar salad. Although not bad tasting, the core of the sprouts was not tender but dry and hard. There was also a lot of it. Most disappointing was the "waygu ribeye". The quality was pretty horrible. The piece we got had silver skin as well as chunks of fat. I wish I got a picture of the leftover fat from the steak but if you look at my picture you can clearly see slices of just fat. I love a little fat on a well cooked ribeye and do not mind paying for it. But paying $50 for a probably 8oz "waygu" ribeye with only half of it palatable is wild. Regardless, I'm actually going back in a couple of days with my husband because of those amazing mushrooms.. though as I am writing this review I'm debating on canceling my reservation, ordering the mushrooms to go, and just going elsewhere. lol
