Charlie's is a must-visit for dog lovers! It's the kind of place where you can meet some fabulous pet dogs and the friendly people who love them. The food is great, and the service is excellent. The barista makes coffee just the way you like it--just choose from their well-thought-out menu. It's a super cute spot in a very walkable part of town, conveniently located near a public parking lot with plenty of parking. Service is quick and friendly. I had an iced maple latte and the soup of the day--tomato basil--and both hit the spot. The food is consistently just what you're craving, and the pastries are amazing. The cherry on top? Food & Drink (4/5): Got the Maple Latte, Breakfast Bagel, and Barnyard Chicken Sandwich. The drink was pretty good albeit it could've been a bit sweeter. Meanwhile, the Barnyard Sandwich was excellent with yummy cheese and flavoring. The Breakfast bagel was a bit bland but good with ketchup. Venue (5/5): Relaxing venue with cool fall and New England town vibes. Has both indoor and outdoor areas. Service (2/5): Probably the main aspect dragging this place down. The breakfast bagel and barnyard took quite a while to come out even though no one else was ordering at the time. They took over 20 minutes. Not only that, but the person taking the orders seemed hesitant to check and when I finally got her to check after going back and forth several times, the order was there. Not sure if it was there the whole time or just came out. Oddly enough, instead of apologizing she just said that she didn't hear it get called out. read more

This is a really cool little place a few doors down from the Northshire Bookstore, so it's easy to find. They have a market of dry goods in addition to all your favorite lunches, plus breakfast all day and some prepared salads to go. And there's the huge drink menu. If you can't find what to eat here, you're doing it wrong. Very friendly staff prepared and brought us our food, and it was good to chat with them as they got ready to close for the day. read more

Soy milk cappuccino was excellent! (It was a true cappuccino, like the ones in Italy, not a latte.) The best I've had in the states.  Lots of indoor and covered and uncovered outdoor seating. Quite a cozy little place in beautiful Manchester, VT. I was in the area for a company ski trip. We made our way to the town and I saw the Charlie's sign and the cute dog that was on it and I decided that I had to go inside. The ambience was warm and comfortable with a hum of activity. The place smelled phenomenal! I ended up getting the barnyard panini - which I highly recommend that you get. The pesto was perfect and the flavors of the bacon and chicken all worked together seamlessly. The portion size was also great. I was stuffed afterwards! Overall, it was a very cute space to be in. It's also dog friendly! Which is wonderful if you have a little friend that you want to bring along. I'll be sure to stop by again when I visit Manchester the next time! read more

We stood at the counter for a good 30 seconds while the employee continued texting, knowing we were waiting. Non apologetic, she was unfriendly as we placed our order: a bagel and a breakfast sandwich. They were ready 30 minutes later! Breakfast sandwich was fantastic, but we will not return. We just left this place, and after taking a few bites of our food... Gross. We would have gotten a better meal at Cumby's. First of all, the guy who took our order was so rude. They pre-make all their breakfast sandwiches with meat, and when my partner asked for a sandwich without meat the cashier grumbled that he had to "make" it. Pretty sure he just microwaved it. He also had a scraggly beard and no beard net, which always makes me kind of queezy. He was mean and unkempt. The food was so awful. Literally egg and cheese on a bialy, and we feel sick after nauseous after eating it. We also got a muffin, and the inside was raw batter. And the latte was not a latte. Cute, Large coffee house, lots of tables, and it was quite packed-mostly with groups of people chit chatting while munching on their food- feels very relaxed, and cozy. We brought our dogs with us and newborn baby, felt very welcomed and staff was very friendly! Drinks were very good, paninis were as well! 10/10 would return. read more

We went there every day for 7 days in a row. Great place to get coffee pastries and even breakfast. Their coffee is good and the egg sandwich too. The pastries are a hit or a miss though. Sometimes good sometimes dense and tasteless. I must have tried all their scones, muffins and croissants type pastries. Staff is not the friendliest which is a shame. We've been twice now during two different visits. The staff isn't the friendliest, but we really enjoy the coffee, tea and desserts. I haven't tried their premade sandwiches but they seem to be busy every time we go. They were allowing vaccinated customers to keep their masks off which was great - feels good to be getting back to "normal". We grabbed a few dog treats for our pup, grabbed two teas and the magic bar and was impressed again by the flavors and quick service. This is a staple stop on our trips here. read more

Honestly terrible... I came in around 3pm (they close at 4pm) and all I wanted was a drink for the road. When I asked for a latte, the girl at the register was extremely aggressive in saying that they already turned off the latte machine, so I couldn't get one. While I was a little surprised by her attitude, I asked if I could still get a London fog and she got even more upset. I didn't realize that also required the latte machine, but either way she didn't need to be so unkind. Ended up leaving empty handed. I try to support small businesses when I can so that's why I opted to go here instead of searching for a Starbucks or Dunkin, but this place is one I will never recommend unless you like paying to get disrespected. read more

Charlie's Coffee House was a total delight. It was enough to make me desperately want to move here and enjoy these delicious pastries and coffee every day. Charlie's has a ton of options as far as pastries, drinks, and flavors are concerned. They also have a lovely display of local products as well such as varies pickled things, dog treats, etc. I opted for a maple latte and cheddar and bacon scone. The maple latte was perfect as it was not overly maple. I was afraid I would feel like I was drinking straight syrup but it wasn't like that at all. That scone was amazing. I don't think I've ever had a savory scone before but it was fabulous, and matched perfectly with my maple latte if I may say so myself. The place itself was lovely, the people were lovely, and I'm really digging the Vermont trend of naming places after their adorable dogs. Charlie's is a must if you are in the area! read more

Baked goods are good. That's where the good ends. The service here is terrible. The staff behaves like every order is an inconvenience. They were even chatting with the next customer about how much they hate it when people order more than one item. To cap it off, they messed up my order and forgot one of my bagels. I just had a dinner party with my girlfriends and Charlie's Coffee House in Manchester did a fantastic job. Their quiches are outstanding!! We all agreed that they were the best we had ever eaten. Very silky and creamy texture and filled with all very fresh ingredients. I did a French theme so I had the quiche Lorraine, tomato/basil quiche, an awesome spinach salad with goat cheese, sliced apples, beets, walnuts and cranberries, French bread and chocolate eclairs and chocolate mousse. Served it all with a great French white wine!! I returned to Charlie's a few days later and picked up some of their scones and muffins. Lots of flavor, very moist and big enough to share! I highly recommend Charlie's and no doubt will be returning on a regular basis! read more

After reading some of these reviews about the lady behind the counter being rude she certainly is. If your from out of town as we were and stop in 20mins before they close she makes you feel like your intruding. If you close at 3pm sure that's fine but remember ifs tourist like us that will keep your sub par coffee house going. Especially when a couple of doors down there's another coffee house. read more
