We were in town for the weekend and decided to finally try this restaurant. They open for dinner at…read more5pm, and the setting is unique, the restaurant is housed in what was once a Victorian home, giving it a charming rustic appeal. I'll admit, the initial smell reminded me a little of an old Las Vegas casino, but don't let that fool you. This is the only true sit-down restaurant in town, and if you're looking for a romantic dinner, this is the spot. We arrived right at opening, and the bar already had regulars enjoying their evening. We were seated in the main dining room, where it was just us, and another party of four. Kara, who greeted us, was bubbly, personable, and welcoming. Our server, Alicia, was equally wonderful. Both ladies were knowledgeable about the menu, quick with recommendations, and incredibly attentive. They had that sixth sense of knowing what we needed before we even had to ask. We ordered a nice variety to share: the tempura, seasonal fire-roasted artichoke, fried zucchini and squash, spinach salad, Malaysian shrimp, Pacific cod fish & chips, and the top sirloin steak. Honestly, we walked in with zero expectations, but this small-town steakhouse really delivered. The food was delicious, but the service stood out as truly top notch. Kara and Alicia made the experience memorable, and for that reason alone, we'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.

Amazing steakhouse. Blue Ridge Inn is a staple restaurant in the community of Wrightwood. Depending…read moreon the season, you can seat inside, outside on the patio, or in the bar. The food is always delicious. The rib eye steak is full of flavor. The steak has so much juice. It is always cooked to perfection. I've also had the artichoke appetizer. Surprisingly enough, IT IS SO GOOD! Nice, tender, and delicious. The chicken is also good. It is full of flavor and not dried out. They offer yummy warm bread with your meal. The clam chowder tastes fresh. The coconut cake dessert is to die for! It's amazing. I've also had their other pies which are also good. The inside is a bit dated from the 70's, but don't let it fool you. The bar area has a nice fireplace. This place is awesome. Be sure to call to check their availability/hours of operation.

I have…read morebeen here since the late 1970s and throughout the years have seen different menu changes, but the building has stayed relatively the same. My children like this place, my wife likes this place and obviously lots of other people do. My wife and I shared the poutine, and we had some chicken wings as an appetizer. She likes Guinness draft there and I had Sour Monkey Triple draft. The poutine was good and it was the first time my wife had tried it--she loved it. I thought there could have been a little bit more of the cheese curd, it was fried, but I know every place makes theirs a little different. The atmosphere is great; it reminds you of a cabin on the inside and of course you're in Wrightwood CA so it's a perfect mountain hangout. The tables are clean, the area swept up and a very inviting indoor environment as outdoor environment. This is a rustic environment, so don't expect four-star accommodation. Again, as I said, it is perfect for this area, and I would expect nothing less. The service was great, we had two or three different servers, and they were always polite, knew their menu well, and offered upgrades. Had a great conversation with this server and he had been coming up there for years himself before working there. His daughter and wife were outside, and he would periodically chat with them which made us feel like it was a great family environment. The menu is varied and they have some excellent hamburgers; I have had the patty melt in the past. There is something about being 5000 feet above sea level, having a cold drink, and hot food; it's amazing. If you happen to be up in the Wrightwood area stop by at this place you will not regret it the food is hot and tasty, the beer is cold and the service and ambience is excellent,

It was a little sad today to see so few people up there. I'm not sure if the recent hiking tragedies have kept people away, but it's important to know that hiking up to Mt. Baldy is only one of the many hikes you can do in this area. Today we parked (easy to find a space--just make sure you have your nature pass that can be purchased at the visitors center or check your local Big 5) at Manker Flat and hiked past the waterfalls (beautiful) and up the Mt. Baldy fire service road to the Notch and had delicious sandwiches and beer (for me) and hot cocoa (for my friend). It was sunny and cold, just perfect for a hike. No snow in this area right now, so it's fine to just wear normal hiking clothes (layer for the changing temps). Always bring the basics just in case you need them, but it's really a moderate pleasant hike. And there is nothing better than some hot tasty food and drinks waiting for you at the Notch. The service was friendly and the views magnificent. I could feel all the stress of the world down the hill floating away into the clouds. You can also take the gondola up, if you are not a big hiker and just walk around near the notch. A great experience. Don't miss it!
