Checked out this countryish Yorkville bar and grill. It has surprisingly great drinks and food, and not just greasy junk. Roadhouse 47 has plenty of that, as well. Good if bringing people with varying food preferences. The prices are okay on most things. Big area around the bar, with plenty of seating inside. It's pretty clean, and not scuzzy like a country bar typically would be like. The menu has lots of meats, but that's not everything thankfully. Has many things to drink. It's about $9 for a mule. There's a choice of whiskey. It's about $11 for appetizers. We got the Fried Cauliflower, which is probably the healthiest thing. Comes with a choice of chili sauce or ranch, so you can make it not as healthy. The burgers are popular with the make your own topping choices, and so is the macaroni and cheese topped with meaty proteins. Easy to find, because the name of street is in the name of the restaurant of course. It's got a happy hour. There's a few bucks off some cocktails, as well as a few appetizers so that's cool stuff. read more

After bringing the appetizer, he brought the plates 5 minutes later. The food took forever to come out and fries were dumped in salt. My wife ordered a well done steak that came out med rare. Well, 3 yrs ago I left a barn burner of a review. Since then...The entire establishment has been changed to the good! This place is awesome! The bartenders care and are polite, the food is PERFECT!!! My wife and I would love to come here. We always have a good time. One thing I don't like, but I'm not going to take a star away, is that the bartenders kept skipping my songs when I played something on Touch Tunes. My husband couldn't stop raving about this place after his first time trying so I had to try it. So glad we did, it was good! The wings are amazing. My husband got the steak sandwich and he said he would get it every time. I got the moonshine burger and so good, their fires are to die for as well. What has happened to this place? Slow service, management that says " well I just brought it out" when your food is cold when brought out. Ive be coming here off and on for years because the service, food and drinks have always been consistent and delightful. Tonight it took the cake! My husband and a wonderful dinner! I (for once) remembered my take out container but forgot my purse. I was about 5 minutes away when I realized my mistake and when I came back into roadhouse, the wonderful servers had already secured my bag behind the waitress station. I ordered the moonshine burger. It comes with fries. Let's start with the burger. It was built very nice. The moonshine sauce was on the sweeter side. It complimented the burger well. Now the meat itself was bland, but all together it was good. When the sauce wasn't on part of the burger it was very plain. The fries had a coating on them. Definitely not for me. Overall if the fries were fresh cut or even maybe a waffle fry would of gotten a 4th star. Customer service was quick and on point. So great job there. read more

We have been here numerous other times & the food was always great; however, today we waited forever & then food was overdone! The bartender never once asked how the food was, even after pushing my food to the side. When the bill arrived she again, did not inquire about wanting a to-go box for a full meal. As I stepped away for the restroom, a couple in the back of the restaurant were waving for a server & when I mentioned they needed a server I heard "oh shit, I forgot about them". Perhaps it's short staffing, but please let customers know up front on a weekday lunch - everyone does not have 90-120 minutes to wait. My fiancé tipped as usual, but as a former server & bartender I would've said something- tips are still to be earned! read more

A group of 8 of us came in for some drinks and appetizers, we only could get slight service if we went to the bar. The bartender still wouldn't wait on us, the waitress wouldn't wait on us. 8/2019 Same slow service. Reopened under new ownership and we are here at the lunch hour with only 3 tables of people. We ordered nachos and a rare steak sandwich. Waitress just came by saying it will be up soon. I said it has been 20 minutes. She said it's the steak that takes long. I said it's A rare cooked steak how long can that take? Ridiculous. Got the nachos. Cold cheese sauce. Luke bbq pork. I'm not eating it. Told the waitress. Steak sandwich came. Cooked medium well. I just don't get it. She comped us which is nice, but we weren't looking to get comped. We came in to eat at a close by neighborhood restaurant. We called to order a couple takeout sandwiches from The Roadhouse. The order taker on the phone was very pleasant sounding and able to answer our questions, and told us when our order would be ready for pickup. Our takeout was ready at the specified time but the total we were charged for both sandwiches seemed too high, so we questioned the amount which they had already collected when we called in the order. We were told that the online prices displayed on their website were "sometimes wrong" and needed to be corrected because the actual prices were higher than indicated. We expressed our disappointment in them not keeping their own website up to date and explained that we felt like we had been / were being overcharged since the amount displayed was so much less than what we ended up paying. The cashier said she fully understood. She said she agreed with us, but there was nothing she could do to correct the amount WE WERE OVERCHARGED since the charge had already been processed at the time our order was taken. No apology was expressed. No credit for future orders was offered. Nothing of the sort. We took our food and left. The food was well packed but tasted mediocre at best. Both sandwiches could have been much tastier if they had been prepared as described on their menu. The Patty Melt meat was hefty and tasty, but the marbled rye bread was not grilled or even toasted, as a patty melt should be prepared. The slight amount of cheese topping was melted on the meat, but the grilled/ caramelized onions were missing. The ungrilled bread and missing onions took away from the overall flavor of the sandwich which tasted nothing like a Patty Melt. The Reuben meat was lean and plentiful but this sandwich was not grilled either. The flavorful sandwich dressing you expect with Reubens was not packed with the sandwich and was not discovered in the bag until the dry sandwich was already mostly eaten and thought to be too dry. The fries were plentiful and not too greasy. Overall, our takeout experience at The Roadhouse left us feeling high and dry and with a bad taste in our mouths. The waitress told me To take a seat at a table and never came to take my order or give me a menu. After 45 mins of waiting I had to come up and ask a waitress for the menu. The food there is not even good and over priced. No one there is wearing a mask and at the bar. I won't be surprised if a corna virus outbreak happens cause everyone at the bar was sitting close to each other with no mask. read more

Let me begin by saying it is a Thursday night and the staff working are not who we usually see. I had the opportunity to check out this place during the St. Patrick's day celebration a week or so ago. It was a great crowd and the staff was very pleasant and attentive. The highlight of the night was definitely DJ KSmoove on the 1's & 2's. DJ KSmoove did an amazing job of reading the crowd and playing hit after hit. I love that he openly let us know that he took request and was very personable while engaging with the crowd. It's been a while since I've heard some good mixing like DJ KSmoove and look forward to seeing him back again because we didn't want to leave. If they get this DJ back I will be there buying out the bar again. read more

Food and drinks were good! Taking some measures to ensure safety: hand sanitizer and no menus- you have to google their website to see their menu... Today was the first day that the public could dine inside. There were several groups outside under the tent and umbrellas. It started storming and they all came in. No social distancing, no masks... one dude bellied up to the bar INCHES from me... check please! All the staff had their noses sticking out of their masks and many actually pulled their masks down under their mouths... what's the point of wearing a mask of you aren't covering anything???! If you are in any way vulnerable to the coronavirus I recommend you stir clear of the Roadhouse until they get their shit together! read more

This is a pleasant surprise at the RT 71 and 47 intersection! We've been here twice now. Everything I've tried has been good! The Mac and cheese with pulled pork was good, not great, but definitely worth a try. The noodles fall a little short as they are a little mushy, and the sauce isn't very cheesy. Still, good. My son has had the salmon twice, and both times it was comes perfectly and rather good. The chicken fried chicken was also good. The gravy and mashed potatoes with skins are fabulous. Be sure to ask for extra gravy. We also enjoyed the poutine, which was a special. They use the pepper jack Mac and cheese bites in the dish, and it's a great touch. Only a few things keep this place from being a regular go-to for us. First, the music is too loud in the dining area. I get louder music in the bar, but a family eating dinner at 6 pm doesn't want to shout over loud country music. The only other thing I noticed on both visits is that they are slow to bus tables. When you walk into a place that's nearly empty, but several booths are empty, it limits the seating options. read more

Disappointing service. My wife & I have ordered from this establishment rather regularly. From the beginning of covid up until now, there's been a total of 4 times now in which we've had problem with not only our orders but their management has overcharged our cards twice of the two most recent times we've dined in. The waitresses are extremely incoherent & don't understand a lick of general skill when it comes to multitasking. Assuming their new employees are rather unfit for general tasks. It's a shame to even write such a review considering my wife & I would normally order from Roadhouse rather frequently. All of the 2 times we've been overcharged on cards ( one being my wife on a separate occasion ) their manager never did get back with either of us when we called in to make the complaint. In such a time where money is tight for some people this is down right NOT okay. If anyone has a similar experience please feel free to share. I'd give this place maybe two more years at the least. read more

I tried out this place a few times. Every time I do, it's hit or miss and so so. When it's a miss it's because they don't listen properly to what you order, however the times I have tried this place, they have messed up my order more times then not, and I'm tired of going back to have it fixed! So they lost a customer. When I say " I want my burger well done" it means no pink!!! It says on the receipt well done yet the burger isn't!!!! I also ordered a chicken dumpling soup. The soup itself wasn't bad but I'm polish when they say " dumplings " I expect " dumplings " that's not what I got. The " dumplings " was broken up bread in the soup. It was a disappointment. I also ordered the cream of broccoli soup, it was oil looking and brown it wasn't thick and it had no taste. Very disappointed, at least I can say I tried giving them a few chances. read more

Bar service type joint with mediocre drinks and great daily specials. Check out they're Facebook page for daily specials such as $5 wrap and fries on Wednesdays. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to roadhouse unless it's a Wednesday that is! I love this bar (& grill)! I've been going there for years (thru all the name changes & new owners). It's finally become a bar that is meant for the Yorkville crowd (definitely a spot for locals but all are welcome-if you go in a stranger, you'll leave as a friend). Great atmosphere & friendly conversations all around the bar & it's patrons. The bartenders (esp Brea, Blake, Jess & Chiston) make all the difference in the world-esp vs other bars options in the area. I highly recommend stopping in to try one of their specials-drinks or food. (It's also kid-friendly before 9pm.) read more

Amazing!! The food was amazing. Taste is everything and this place nailed that. Buffalo Mac and cheese was delicious. I hate Mac and cheese bites never had one I liked until here. Catfish was cooked to perfection. I never leave reviews but everyone needs to know how great this place is!! The mega bloody was the stuff of dreams. I thought the drink was great and all the stuff on top was so delicious and on point exactly what I needed today! Ordered take out from here a few weeks ago, and the food was very good. Was very impressed with how carefully everything was packed up and kept fresh. So, we didn't feel like cooking tonight and decided to order takeout from Roadhouse again. A guy answered the phone, said because they are so slammed tonight they won't be doing takeout. Sorry, either you do takeout or you don't. I tried to give you my money - you decided you didn't want it. Maybe I could have accepted that if they guy was a bit more polite, but he was short with me. I asked if the "no takeout" just applied to phone orders or if I could come in and order takeout. That question got me about 10 seconds of silence, so I hung up and ordered from somewhere else. Don't treat me like I'm an idiot because you didn't anticipate that some people want to order takeout from a restaurant that offers takeout even on a busy night. When I plan what I want for dinner in the future, I don't want to have to have a back-up plan in mind just in case Roadhouse doesn't feel like doing takeout that day. Instead, Roadhouse is just off my list of restaurants I'll think about ordering from. Considering Rowdy's and Crusade are right down the street, they should probably come up with a better way to keep customers. read more
