We were looking for a new place to try that was close to home, and after consulting yelp, we decided to try Crosstown Pub. We went on Super Bowl Sunday the first time, and were seated right away. Our waitress, Ciera, explained the specials to us and gave us some time to decide on our order. She was great, the right mix of attentiveness but not hovering, super friendly too. On Sundays, apps, crocks, and salads are all half off. Such an amazing deal, especially in this economy. My husband really enjoyed their devils eggs, he ate all 12! The appetizer sampler was great, and we ordered 10 wings with the devils sauce. Ciera was concerned it may be too spicy for us, so we tried a sample with some fries. It's delicious! The devils sauce is one of the components of the wing challenge, so we understand her concern. We went back again on Valentine's Day for a late stop after a busy day. They have a $5 burger and fry special. Again, great food at a great price! Ciera waited on us again, and again, she was incredible. The bartender was very friendly when we were coming and going, and the rest of the staff we saw on Super Bowl Sunday seemed very hard working as they prepped take out orders for the game. They have a great space in the dining area to host events. I'm hoping to host something here in the near future. Overall, I think we've found our new go to hang out. I highly recommend Crosstown. It certainly isn't anything fancy and has a pretty casual atmosphere that isn't quite trashy. Get some drinks for not a lot. The prices are okay especially when something is on special. A pretty typical looking sports bar for around here with the bar in the middle and seating around. It's okay but nothing special to be honest. There's too many other places almost exactly like it to make it memorable. At least it has some cheap specials to get. Best of these is the 22 ounce beers for $6 on Wednesdays. All of these are included. They have quite a few of these. It's about $11 for a burger. You can get a black bean patty. Comes with the kettle chips. The menu also has chicken among others. I also combined the Carolina Q mustard sauce and Mesquite BBQ dry rub. They were fine, but nothing touches the Chili lime rub. Came here for an Elite 8 game and sat at the bar on a nice Saturday night in the burbs. They had gameday $7 tall beers, not a bad deal! Bartender was friendly and chill, game was on every TV with sound, so that was nice. I did not eat anything, but the local boozer next to me mentioned the food is actually very good from the burgers to wings, etc. It looked pretty good from what I saw. The manager on duty at the time was eating inside and the place was dead Place used to have a great selection of beers on tap... it is down to almost nothing, and anything you ask for from that list is always out somehow. , Last night was probably the worst experience ever tbh Had half a toothpick in my food last night and politely pointed it out to the server (servers are usually nice but either have to cover too many tables or something as they are rarely around) She was nice and apologized but oddly not surprised like it is a common occurrence. It was faster than I think any restaurant we've ever been to. Ordered chips+guacamole, and 20 wings- 2 rubs for 3 people to start with. The guacamole was nice and fresh and came with a green tomatillo type salsa as well. For the wings: I did not eat them but my family gobbled them. They charge for the rub, sauce. It's pretty clear in the menu but we were a little confused when ordering. It's $14 for 10 wings and they ordered them breaded. They were a hit because not even one was left. I'm going to take advantage of 1/2 price Thursdays for wings and carry out sometime. The reviews were stellar from the wings eaters. I got the fish tacos. Breaded cod and they give you 4. Way more than most places. The breading in the cod was light and airy. Perfect really. I will omit the sauce next time. It was more like a sour cream topping. Maybe ask for honey mustard or something else. I would get those again and in fact Fridays they have a fish fry. So I'd get that in a snap too. My family loved their food. I used to really love this place because of the size and quality of the wings. It has been awhile since I was last here but I heard that the wings have changed. They're no longer those huge, succulent wings that would fill you up without any appetizers. They have an 18" pretzel that is good for sharing. Quality was decent. I'll post some pictures of the wings that I had before they changed the vendors. Service was always meh, nothing great. If you do go, make sure you check the bill prior to paying. I believe they add on some extra charges that they didn't do in the past including a 25% tip. I don't even tip 25% at fine dining restaurants. The parking lot can get full and what sucks around this area is that you can't park in another empty parking lot after hours. Don't park in that lot behind the restaurant, otherwise you'll have some shady people put a boot on your car. I made the mistake once and some people came out from behind the bushes. I came to this sports bar specifically to watch a once-in-a-lifetime fight. Before coming, I called ahead to confirm they would be showing the Tyson fight, and they assured me they would. Just got wings from Crosstown again yesterday and I felt compelled to review because I always love the wings from here and I come time and time again because they never disappoint. I've traveled across the US and it's been hard to find wings like these - saucy, large, juicy, flavorful. They updated their menu to include a few new sauces, and of course I had to try, so I got the classic garlic buffalo and the new jalapeno sauce. The breading was crispy even after sitting in the sauce for awhile (I got take out), and the sauce covered all the wings evenly. For each order of wings, we had to select options 1) naked, grilled and breaded 2) 1 sauce or dry rub 3) ranch and Bleu cheese on the side for dipping *celery and carrots are available for $2 as an additional add on. It's nacho business: The nachos were tasty and enjoyed by the table (5 ppl). A good option for sharing while waiting for wings. Wings: The breaded wings contained a lot of bread so it does fill you up faster. I may opt for the naked (still fried, but no bread) or grilled moving forward. The size of the wings were larger than wings sold at other restaurants. The dry rub will distribute the flavors more evenly or having the wings sauced. I got sauce (parmesan garlic) on the side and I don't think it was a lot to evenly spread on the wings. The wings may taste best dine in. Dry rubs ($2): -Cheesy garlic: this tastes like potato au gratin and the powder is very white (in the dim lighting). -Pizza: it tastes like pizza powder sprinkled on top of the wings (a unique choice but I'd recommend trying other flavors first) -Chiptole: the flavors were savory peppery flavor & had a little kick to it (not advised for those that cannot spicy food at all) -Lemon pepper: Mild for those that do not prefer spicy food. A decent option. Sauces ($3): -Parmesan Garlic (on the side): it tastes like the garlic bread spread. Yum but may be better sauced vs sauce on the side. The options with food and wing sauces/rubs are plenty so I may be back to try other food items or wing sauces/rubs. Not sure I'd make my way out here just for the wings though. Fries reminded me of White Castle fries and their waffle fries were okay, at best. Again, the winner here are the wings!! We had both grilled and fried wings with (sweet chili garlic sauce; chipotle mango; garlic buffalo). Wing orders some in 10 pieces BUT the wings are like the ones you get at certain chicken joints where the wing is an entire wing, not just drums and flats. However, you may be wondering, why only 3 stars? Because the service was not the greatest. The waitress we had was nice but extremely overworked, and it unfortunately, seemed to be getting to her. The attitude she had towards us was not the best, but rather, too rushed. She seemed disinterested in us asking questions about the menu and would rarely come back to check with us. This is my go to place for wings especially on a Thursday when it's half price. Quality- the wings here are a step above Buffalo Wild Wings. The sauces I prefer are the chipotle mango and honey sriracha. They are generally not dry and seasoned well if you get the dry rubs too. The naked wings on their own lack a bit of flavor but are still good wings. You can't compared these to Korean wings from choong man or bon chon since these are made pretty quickly but they are better than wing stop, Popeyes wings, or b dubs. Quantity- these wings are quite large. Getting 10 wings with a side on Thursday's make it worth it. I usually get like 40 wings those days and it is totally worth it to share. I wouldn't say it's worth it on the other days. 17 bucks for 10 wings and then you add in tax/tip is quite steep. Atmosphere- I like the outdoor seating the most here. The bar atmosphere inside can be a bit loud and crowded during lunch time but it is ok after prime food times. Service- good service here. No complaints. read more

The wings here used to be excellent, but today's experience was unappetizing. Three of our four orders of traditional wings had chicken feathers that were so plentiful it was gross. They did replace the flappers with drums for the one person in our party who was willing to trade but I just didn't want wings after that. I can understand a stray feather here or there but this was like a quality control issue or something and when we spoke to the manager and asked if they changed their chicken vendor, they said no, they've always had the same one. That seemed unlikely since we've been going there a few times a year for 8 years and never one run onto this. When we first spoke with the waitress she also said, oh, they come that way, that's normal. Oh also they were completely out of CO2 and had no draught beer. Disappointing. How disappointing! We had a party of 6. Food was very good across the board and service was excellent. So why only 2 stars? Because we feel somewhat ripped off. First, there was a service charge added to the bill without explanation. Next, there was a 25% tip added to the bill. 25% is the highest automatic tip I've ever seen. Normal is 18% and max is around 20%. And the menu states automatic tip is for parties of 8 or more...and we had only 6. The wings are pretty big, which adds value to not only the special but even the regular price. I wanted to like them, but they didn't taste that great.
