This family owned and run restaurant is easy on your pocketbook but is amazingly attentive and the food is delicious, because mom's in the kitchen sharing generations of home style cooking. We chose to sit inside due to the extreme humidity outside, but there is a beautiful outdoor patio also available - this is a simple restaurant but after only a moment here you'll feel comfortable and welcomed, it's like family serving family. After ordering our drinks, warm chips and a bowl of perfectly balanced salsa was brought out before placing our lunch order - everything is cooked to order so although the wait time is reasonable they don't rush things here everything is made to order and one bite into their freshly made corn tortillas you won't care because time will stop as you savor all the freshly prepared goodness. The food, well I didn't try everything but then again after a healthy sampling I can't imagine anything served here falls below the description of outstanding. The tacos are amazing, again served open face on those delicious warm homemade corn tortillas, they are filled with your choice of meats including steak, pork, chicken, shrimp, beef tongue, goat, etc.or a medley of grilled veggies if that's your thing - all are topped with freshly chopped onion and cilantro. This can be paired with delicious homemade beans and rice and an amazing radish salad concoction. We also enjoyed a delicate pork tamale (so good) and a cheesy enchiladas (exceptional) - we cleaned our plates and was looking for a shady spot to grab a siesta. We are camping in the area and we will definitely be returning here over the next ten days and anytime we are close to this area in the future- this is one of those places that you must experience if given the opportunity...

The exterior is clean and simple. When you walk in, it's clean, simple, and a bit Chip and Joanna-esque, which I love. I was quickly greeted and told I could sit anywhere. I was given a menu and their drink menu. After being off coffee for a week, I saw that they make their own coffee syrups, so I got an iced decaf almond milk latte with their salted caramel syrup. While I waited, I looked over the menu. I really wanted to try the french toast or the waffle, but opted for the bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant and cup of their cheese grits. The latte came out quickly and tasted exquisite. Sometimes you get decaf and it tastes watery, but not this latte. My friend ordered a salad with grilled chicken on top. Everythign came out quickly. The first thing I noticed were the cheese grits. They were delicious. Rich, creamy, and flavorful. Get them. The bacon egg and cheese on a croissant was also really good. They sell coffee at their shop to bring home.

After a visit to Ravine Gardens State Park in Palatka, my wife and I decided to head out to The…read moreMagnolia for lunch after my wife researched it. It was just after noon on a Friday when we arrived and there was a 10-minute wait for a table. Upon being seated, we were presented the menu. We both considered ordering the Reuben Sandwich but I opted instead for the Club Sandwich on Ciabatta (as recommended by our server) and a side of Seafood Chowder. We both just ordered water with a slice of lemon to drink. Our server eventually came back with my wife's Reuben sandwich served with a bag of chips and she also had my cup of chowder, commenting how the club sandwich will be served shortly. My wife liked her Reuben, with tender meat and sharp sauerkraut. She also liked how the rye bread held up to the strong flavors. My chowder was equally good but it wasn't served with crackers. We waited a while for our server to return so I could ask for some crackers but she went ghost on us. Finally, more than 10 minutes after my wife was served her sandwich, a gentleman, who we can only assume was the manager, came over to ask if I've been served my club sandwich. Of course I pointed to a clean table to indicate no sighting of my sandwich and I also asked for some crackers. A few minutes later, the same man came back with some crackers and apologized for a mix up in the back. That's when I told them to forget the club sandwich so we can be on our way. To the manager's credit, he had the club sandwich boxed up and gave it to me free of charge. He was very apologetic. I was still a bit miffed and thought about leaving the sandwich there but my wife convinced me otherwise. Needless to say, service wasn't at the forefront during that dining experience. Despite the service mix up, however, I was still inclined to give this place 4 stars for the taste and quality of the food. The staff can have some inconsistencies and I tend to believe that's not the norm for this establishment which has earned high marks on Yelp.

Upon entering this establishment it was obvious there were some good things going inside, we grabbed a few stools at the half filled counter being all the tables were filled with customers stuffing their faces. I tried to get a look see at what the diners were having, but not wanting to be a busy body I decided to wait on the menu which arrived with a big o' how ya'll doing and whatcha drinking honey - yep I'm in the place I wanted to be. We got here at the transition from the breakfast menu to the lunch menu although most were enjoying their morning meal. Hey I'm pretty easy I'll flip the page and look at what's for lunch. We scanned the options displayed on the worn handmade menus, mine looked like it had been rolled to swat flies (I'm joking) it was clean - while we are speaking of clean the staff were constantly wiping down everything and the kitchen staff was doing the same. Uhm it was only seconds until I found the fried pork chops although fried pork is always enticing I had to ask my friendly server if they were bone-in and she smiled and said of course they are sugar and they are delicious, my search ended at that moment and I ordered two fried crispy, in my opinion rendered pork fat is irresistible I got fries and Lima Bean, we also ordered a hand formed freshly prepared cheese burger I was okay with sharing although a whole pork chop for a half a burger isn't a good trade in my opinion (fortunately she wasn't interested) so I was somewhat relived - okay the pork chops were heavenly I mean almost my MeMa good she fried hers in lard so it wasn't an even playing field but no doubt these are some stellar chops - the Lima Beans were delicious as well but the portion was too small for my liking next time I'm skipping the fries and doubling up on the beans. The burger I'm told was phenomenal (maybe I should of bartered a little harder) it looked amazing and the amount of pickles made it especially good I'm told. Okay good service, great food, a friendly and an attentive staff and prices that are unheard of in my beach town - yes this is where you want to eat...

The service showed a real lack of knowledge and attentiveness. When I ordered whole milk for my coffee, the response was essentially "is half and half okay?" -- no, it is absolutely not okay. These are completely different in taste and calories, and it's not a reasonable substitute to casually suggest. What made it worse: oat milk, almond milk, and whole milk were all visibly sitting in the fridge right there from where I was seated at the bar. Zero effort to offer what was clearly available. The atmosphere didn't help either. The space feels like someone started building a café concept and never finished thinking it through. It's uninviting, disorganized, and oddly off -- not warm, not designed with the customer in mind. Nothing about the food, the presentation, or the space gives you a reason to choose this place over anywhere else. Not particularly tasty, not nicely decorated, not a vibe. Not sure what keeps people coming back, honestly.
