I came in for a 201. They refused to let me leave on my own accord. They confiscated my only source of solace (vape and phone), and they were nothing but condescending and rude. It all started when I went to Mexico to have serious dental surgery, a bone graft, sinus lift, removal of all my top teeth and the 8 posts put in for future dentures in 6 months. They dont prescribe pain management in Mexico and was told when I get back to see my regular doctor to prescribe me some . The pain was getting more serious by the minute and by the time I got off the plane I couldnt take it anymore so we decided to go to UPMC Mckeesport Hospital . Everything seemed normal until the doctor came in and refused to treat me because the injury had occured in Mexico. He said and I quote" You made your choice, now live with it" I was in agonizing pain and fell to the floor pleading with him to give me anything for the pain because it was making me suicidal. He called security and someone came up behind me and grabbed me and i screamed dont touch me. The person then started rough housing me. I could not believe what was happening. The incident was quite jarring. Anyway I struck her back and they tackled me and put me in cuffs and kept saying i assaulted an officer. My husband was screaming for someone to call the cops. No cops ever came that they claimed were coming to get me. As quickly as all of this had gone down, it quickly ended when they uncuffed me and rushed me out into the street after I had been screaming that i was calling cops and getting a lawyer. Very traumatic experience and Id rather die than ever be transported to this hospital. They should be shut down. Mind you im 100 pounds and 5 feet tall and disabled. read more

Last year my boyfriend was declared brain dead. They were in a hurry to pull the plug. They had no compassion whatsoever. I believe God had the final day so. They wouldn't give us a chance to see if his condition would change. There are so many people who have been diagnosed brain dead, but end up in a coma for months and come out fine. They couldn't determine what caused him to go into cardiac arrest in the first place. I later found lab results I. His pants and he had critical low potassium and magnesium levels. The service at this hospital is poor and needs to be reviewed. The nursing staff in the ER specifically on 07jun2020 is unexceptional and unprofessional. They called my family member names when they thought she did not hear them. The physician recommended a medication and the nurse did not take the order or check it. The nurse made the decision not to give the medicine that the attending physician prescribed. Then to add insult to injury the nurse called security on my family member to escort her out of the hospital. The security officer told my sister that most people they are called on run. This is how people of color are treated in Mckeesport. It is very sad and we will be following up with health grades and the attorney general of Allegheny county. read more

On 2-4-22 brought by Ambulance as I was throwing up a lot. it was Food Poisoning. I arrived and was placed in waiting area next to bathrooms. I was wearing a 3 layer's of a mask. I called friends to let them know I'm here and I took off my mask to talk with nobody around, zippo, nobody and the mask police lady in registration screamed at me while on the phone meanwhile 2 other females, 20 minutes later without any mask on what so ever, did not get the same treatment, can I sue for discrimination??? I was brought to ER by ambulance. By the time I was seen at Midnight, my bus had stopped running for the night. Was told have to wait in waiting room til bus service available 6 hrs. later. As I waited, TWO others wetegiven cab vouchers. The 1st woman wasn't even seen, rambled & sweared while she waited, and was upset she couldn't get Methadone. After hearing a 2nd person paged for a cab, I inquired about policy. An underlings explained the supervisor told her the above reasons. When I clarified she said she never said that & it's based on 'medical needs.' I guess being disabled with asthma isn't reason enough. A security guard actually implied maybe I was "mean" to the Dr.! Pathetic excuse for a "Hospital." If I could give negative stars I would. Not 1st time I've had a bad experience there. Incompetent. Rude. Negligent. I'll be cancelling my hmo with them tomorrow. read more

Really bad hospital. Lots of screaming and yelling from mad men coming in to the hospital with armed police officers People in stretchers in hallways Avoid this place totally unless you are having a sudden heart attack. The staff is callous I mean 95 percent of them Omg. A woman is carrying on like there's a knifing This is really scary. read more

Not recommended. Went by ambulance late last summer. Got into an ER room. Kinda got ignored. No one was telling me what was going on. Got admitted and the orderly pushing my stretcher couldn't locate my room on the unit and was told it was the COVID room. I was not having COVID type issues and was very concerned about being put in a room that had been inhabited by COVID patients. Luckily there was a CNA who took the time to explain about the room's special sanitation features and help me understand what was going on. The intake nurse on the unit was strange and made some comment about how Jesus loves me that didn't seem very professional. I don't know who they talked to, because they didn't ask me, and they gave me one pill in the wrong dose and tried to give me another I had only used for a few months the prior year. They discharged me with a new medication that did nothing and had a nasty side effect. Then they submitted mt claim to an insurance company that hadn't covered me for years.. If I ever need ER again I'm going to beg to be taken to Jefferson Hospital. read more
