In the emergency room I waited for quite a long time in ever increasing pain until the PA doctor named Lindsey came in. Trying to explain to her what happened and the extreme pain I was in was frustrating because she continued to talk over me and interrupt me. She began by saying both my foot and ankle looked the same besides a little swelling. She had an attitude that I interpreted as being that I just wanted drugs. She was rude, unprofessional, arrogant, poor beside manners and snooty. All I wanted was for the pain to stop and she continued to talk while I waited for a pain shot. I hope to never have her again and hope the hospital takes this seriously. I had to stay over night and into much of Saturday in room 313. The two nurses I had were very kind, courteous and very professional. Their names were Crystal and Gabi. They were very friendly and were responsive when I needed help. Hopefully they get commended for their efforts and great bedside manners.

My mother had 3 admissions within 2 weeks for a chronic illness. From the emergency room to being admitted the staff couldn't have been more caring and compassionate. Not only to her but to my family. Once admitted the nursing, ancillary, & maintenance staff were wonderful. I appreciate the time and attention they gave to all of us and especially the empathy they showed my mom. I won't hesitate going there anymore.

This is the worst er that I have ever visited. I have been there 4 times in the last 3 months with…read morefamily members and let me tell you that you will be there 7 plus hours. I have no clue why this er is so slow. There is no reason for er visits to be that long. No one comes in to check on you, they just put you in a room and disappears. Then 2 to 3 hours later they come in and tell you they are taking you for ct scan, xray, mri, and then you wait 3 to 4 hours for the results. They have a board in the room that tells you when the results are in but again you wait for hours to get them. They need to hire more staff so they can keep the er running smoothly and efficiently instead of waiting forever. We live 5 mins from this hospital but the next time we have to go I will take them somewhere else with a better turn around time. This is completely ridiculous. The other people I have a problem with is the security there. Some of them think that they are real cops and treat you with no respect.

I visited the emergency room because of a rash/illness. After some research, my symptoms aligned with Lyme Disease. I was fatigued and in severe pain. The staff were very helpful and supportive throughout my visit. It started with checking my vitals and getting bloodwork done. Then I was sent back to a bed when available. There I met with the Physicians Assistant Kiley. She was great! Very thorough and knowledgeable. Answered all questions I had and ordered a chest X-ray to be sure that pneumonia had not set in. Even though the emergency room may take more time I know now that an Urgent Care Center would not have been so thorough with my care. They are more like a drive thru office compared to a full service facility! Nobody is ever happy with a trip to the hospital but Forbes is bearable and never had any complaints.

I've been to Forbes for blood work, the surgery center, xrays, the cancer center and the emergency department. The closest to a negative experience was the ED and honestly, the staff there were great, it was just a crazy long wait. (Forbes is a trauma center, so the amount of people in the ER waiting room is not a great indication of how long you might wait). For example, I was there with my daughter. When the intake person realized just how long we would likely be waiting, they contacted Children's Hospital for us, got us in the line there and made sure we had things like emesis bags for the drive over. Every department I've been in the staff has been courteous, empathetic and attentive. The hospital itself is well maintained and clean. Obviously no one really wants to go to a hospital, but I feel fortunate that we have such a great option so close to home.

My daughter brought me to the ER and, after a thorough checkup (including a CAT scan {I'd fallen several times so this was a precaution}), they kept me overnight and discharged me the next day. While I was home I was still a little unbalanced and so, as I tried to go to the basement to have access to my car, I fell down the basement stairs but, thank God, I had my LifeAlert on and they came, picked me up off the floor and they Took me back to UPMC Monroeville East where I received a full body check and another CAT scan of my head and neck. Miraculously i didn't break anything. The care received at your facility was beyond the expected. Every person - bar none - was helpful, cheerful, professional and very special. At one point I was struggling to eat my lunch due to angle of the tray and my inability to sit up properly. A nurse I'd never seen before came into my room, said she was just passing and saw me struggling so she came to help!! To me that was above and beyond good service! Congratulations on a beautiful facility and, most especially, a staff of exceptional people truly dedicated to the best service possible! -

And severely dehydrated we get in there they take us to triage don't tell us a single thing. Send us back out to wait. And there were only three other people in the room fast-forward four hours later we still have not been seen, and my girl has been curled up in a ball crying in pain. But by the end, the emergency room was completely full about 12 other people went in doctors check them out we even asked when we would be seen next. The lady said she was getting our room ready. We wait another four people then ask where is our room then they say they never said there was a room ready I ask. well, how do you guys judge the procedures based on who gets treatment first I'm just curious at this point next thing I know the security guard is telling me I have to go almost getting physical with me because I'm trying to figure out if my girlfriend's going to pass out or not, so I leave to take my girlfriend somewhere else they don't take her IV out and the second we got to another hospital. They told us how bad it was To have an IV in and tachycardic and high fever please if you have any family members or loved the ones that you actually care about I highly suggest you do not take them to this when we took her to the other hospital, they saw her instantly all of our saying this is extremely serious so my question is why is this incompetent OK?
