I took my Favorite Fab One to Upper Deck for lunch. It is an interesting location where kayaks and manatees converge in the cool waters just below. IF you have mobility issues as other reviewers have noted, there is an elevator for your use. Those stairs could be daunting for others on the way down after downing a few brews, too! Be careful! The first thing I noted is the place looks rather well worn. Rough and ramshackle, tables and chairs in odd places. The paint is marred and dull. It could really stand redoing. However, they are in the process of redoing the flooring. The main bar area was done and the dining room was in the process. Maybe there's more to come? We sat at the bar and were ably attended to by Terrific Tess! She's a bubbly server of adult beverages. We like her! I started out with a cup of Clam Chowder. I enjoyed the taste, but felt it was not as creamy as I'd prefer, and it wasn't quite up to temp. Overall, not bad. For my meal, I got the Fish Sandwich. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 5. The bun was nothing special, like a basic store brand hamburger bun. Bread is the very first taste note you get when you bite into any sandwich. Investing in the perfect winning bread helps the sandwich ingredients to shine! That was a let down. And even with a slathering of tartar sauce the fish just didn't have a whole lot of taste. Overall, I would not order that sandwich again. My Fab One ordered the Upper Deck Burger with Cheddar cheese and fries. It was pretty good, she said, although it appeared to be a little smaller than what we see at comparable joints. She enjoyed her fries, deep fried on the outside. Final judgement? The view is great, service good...the food, as we experienced could use a little help. And I hope the decor/paint is getting a well-needed refreshing. read more

While staying on the river we decided to try this local restaurant in Weeki Wachee Gardens. There are limited restaurants in the area. The atmosphere was cool, kinda campy, right on the river overlooking Rodgers Park. We sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the view and ambiance. The food was okay. We started with the mozzarella wedges that are fried mozzarella. They were good. Crunchy and tasty. We ordered the fried clam basket with French fries and cole slaw. The clams were hard and you couldn't really taste any clam in the breading. We also ordered the fried shrimp and it was tasty. My husband had the chicken fajitas. The chicken was cut very thin and it wasn't enough chicken for him but he said they were ok. The meal was typical bar type food. We enjoyed our night. read more

Waited an hour to be seated, then once we were seated the waitress took our food order she did info us the kitchen was behind so we ordered fish dip cause the kitchen didn't have to make it, we waited 35 minutes to get the dip then another 30 minutes an still didn't receive our food we asked the waitress how much longer and she said we had still another check in front of us. So after waiting an hour to be seated then another 35 minutes to get appetizer then waited 30 more minutes still had no food we walked out. The waitress kept saying u haven't waited but an hour for ur food it's not my fault. No it wasn't her fault BUT we never seen a manger come and talk to us once we complained about the hour wait for food. Took waitress almost an hour to refill drinks we had to ask for them. I have had to wait for some restaurants for food but to wait 2 hours between being seated and food order an still had 1 ticket ahead of ours is ridiculous. Will not be going back read more

Came on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy, which, ok, fine, it's Sunday. It was extremely loud, and the tables are all vaguely uncomfortable. None of which would normally be a dealbreaker. But: The waitress(who apparently is also the manager) told me, after I'd already decided, "oh we aren't serving any entrees right now" despite no indication of this earlier and no reason And then proceeds to say "oh but you can order the sandwich and get the rest of the stuff a la carte and just pay $8 extra for the same meal". Which is absolutely just bait and switch scamming. And then the food took over an hour to come out (we sat down a little after 4:30, the food was not out until 5:50.) At no point during this time did anyone bother to ask how we were doing, give us any update, or apologize for the wait. People who came in after us were served before us, so it's pretty obvious the kitchen just lost the ticket. The manager proceeded to tell us she would not be able to take anything off the bill and that this was just how restaurants work. Once the food came, it was actually pretty good at least, other than the lobster bisque which is... sweet, for some reason. But this is absolutely the worst service I've had in years. read more

We went Thursday evening and was seated immediately.We ordered our drinks,appetizers and entree at 7:20 pm.We got our appetizers at 8:45 pm,at 9:00 pm we still hadn't got our entree even though several groups came in after us and got their food and ate and left.We were the last table there and still hadn't got our food.At about 9:05 we told the waitress we were not waiting any longer and we paid for our appetizers and drinks and left.That was the worst service or lack of that o have ever experienced.We are locals and have eaten there several times and the service just keeps getting worse.We will not be going back. read more

Busy popular place with indoor and outdoor seating. Wait staff busy and attentive enough. Food quality poor. Chips and salsa tasted old. While lobster bisque had nice chunks of lobster and decent flavor, it was too thick to be called a soup/ bisque. My shrimp were fried perfectly but the fries were broken and soggy. We also had fried scallops but they lacked flavor. The highlight was the clam appetizer - be sure to ask for more bread as the sauce was delicious. read more

I'd give 0 stars if it were an option. We gave this place a try due to the good reviews and close proximity to the park and I'm sorry we did. Bar and tables were dirty and sticky. Open cans/tumblers from the bartenders all over the place on the bar top. Inappropriate behavior from the bartenders: language, conversations, one bartender shoving her face in the others chest... made us very uncomfortable. Drinks were horrible. Food was mediocre at best. Bartender/waitress disappeared for a 20-30 minutes without saying anything to us. Nobody checked on us during our meal. One bartender said she cut off a customer (directly to the customer) and another bartender gave him a drink. Just all around a negative experience and most certainly won't be back because of it. read more

We took a little detour on our way to Tampa.Our friends and my wife wanted to paddle board.I do not paddle board.So while they hit the water,I hit the Upper Deck.Started with a rum runner at the upstairs bar,excellent starter cocktail.Then headed down to the outside deck bar.Great view,of the water,ordered a beer and conch fritters. Excellent fritters,as a matter of fact some of the best I have had,and the beer was from a local brewer ,very good.It was love bug season,so I understand not much they can do about that,but put on a couple of fans, to at least blow a few away.After they were done paddle boarding,we all headed back upstairs to the restaurant area.Ordered a bunch of things,including the crab dip,which I thought was very good.We all enjoyed our food.The reason for 3 stars,other than the love bugs,were the condition of the men's bathroom.I have seen better gas station bathrooms.Leaks,holes in the walls,pretty bad shape.I was told the women's bathroom wasn't all that great either. They need to redo their bathrooms big time.If we ever decide to head up there again,and the bathrooms are upgraded,I will add a star for sure. read more

For alcoholic beverages I HIGHLY recommend the Miami vice it taste exactly like a strawberry cheesecake- it's a daiquiri/pina colada mix with whip cream and syrup. I highly recommend, it was delicious and tasted similar to steak bites! Three of us ordered burgers and they were delicious! The steak fry fries were cooked to perfection. We love the upper deck. I'm surprised it only has 3 stars. It's such a chill, river spot and great food for reasonable prices. The view is awesome and we see manatees rolling through right next to the deck very often! Not gonna lie: I also enjoy people watching from upper deck across the river at Rogers Park. Bartenders and servers have always been fun and easy-going. We love pulling our SUPs up to the dock after a long day on the river to enjoy some cold beverages. When a place has been around this long, there are going to be some inconsistencies hence the overall three-star but based on my recent visit, I'm giving this place five stars because they nailed it in drinks, food and service. And this was on a busy Friday. This is one of my mom's favorite spots when we come to weeki wachee but it's been a few years since we visited. A friend recently swore by their margaritas so I got one and then another because this bartender knows less sour mix, and a splash of fresh orange juice is key. The baked stuffed mushrooms are made with real crab. The patty melt is... well it's been a week since I was there and my mouth is watering just writing about it. They served probably the best corn fritters I have ever had. Even the Cobb salad was epic! And ALl of the staff had great attitudes which I can appreciate because it's hard to juggle a smile sometimes when you are slammed with hungry customers. read more

Came out for a meal and a sunset people with a bunch of kids were seated next to us which were screaming and running around to tables that weren't theirs. We asked our waitress if they could just say something to the parents and we were told no. So it got so bad I asked for a box. I was leaving to my car and my husband tried talking with a manager who basically told him to go elsewhere. The parents at the table were flipping us the bird and laughed. It's a shame that you pay good money and a manager can't walk over and do the right thing by asking them to get control of their kids. We got the lobster/shrimp app. It was more liquid than needed to be. The drinks we got were the River Runner and the Camouflage. They were excellent! Its sad since the food tasted good and everyone was nice. The kitchen was lacking in my opinion. We sat next to the water and did see the mom and baby manatees go by but they were hard to see. The atmosphere here is nice and relaxing but the serving staff needs to clean the potatoes out of their ears. I I feted a house salad without croutons and what I as on my salad?? That's right - croutons. The blue cheese dressing was so salty. My boyfriend has a Phili cheese steak and it's not as advertised. Had my fist experience at upper deck over the weekend with a larger group of friends. Food was delicious. I had the California chicken club, we had wings, corn nuggets , mushrooms and fish tacos. Food was perfect. View is beautiful especially in the early evening. Your able to pull your boat right up to the dock and tie up. The staff was a little rude. I chose this location to have a post-COVID reunion with friends - based upon their large open deck and recent reviews. Never having been there before, I had no expectations but was very surprised by the high caliber of their food! Don't be misled by the "sports bar" connotation!! The seafood bisque and stuffed mushroom appetizers were as good as we've had in 5 star restaurants!! The chicken fajita was enough to feed 2 people, and the fries were perfectly cooked and plentiful too. If I peeked in the kitchen, I'm sure I would discover a Chef - not just a "cook"! Ladies room was very clean (thank you), and our server was attentive, patient, and efficient. If you want laid-back atmosphere with excellent food, it's worth the drive to find this hidden gem! read more
