UPS provided a notice on my door indicating call the customer center for a time to pick up there. I drove to the UPS Customer Center located on the other side of the LA River tucked in cul de sac in an industrial area. I purposely arrived 30 minutes later so I wouldn't have to wait around. When I get there the line is about 10 deep. I check in and they indicate the van that had my package was running late. Not this location, but UPS customer service is the worst in the business. They don't deliver to PO Boxes, and I understand that, but there is no way to contact ANYONE live to try and resolve the delivery address! Instead, they try to resolve the address themselves and have always got it wrong. I tried Live Chat and Email Support, but they were completely worthless! My package was delivered to another house again, and when I try to file a lost package claim they deny it and tell me "The package was delivered. Here's the photo." BUT THAT ISN'T MY HOUSE! So many things wrong with this place. First of all, the entrance is on Moulton street. There are almost zero signs that tell you that. I had to ask a driver that was sleeping in his truck for the entrance. Second, I had called earlier and paid $8 to do a hold for pick-up. They advised me the pickup window is between 7-8pm only. So I got there 7:15. Once it was my turn to pickup, they told me they had put my package back on the truck at 5pm and could not retrieve it. Yiiiiiiikes. This place is pretty dreadful. Had to pick up a package here that was late and under a deadline. They open at 8 am and there was already a line at opening time, but honestly it looked longer than it was because of social distancing. When I was getting near the front, there was a bit of a situation happening with a lady insisting she had live turtles sent to this location and the UPS worker insisting that they don't accept live animals and they wouldn't be there. She someone convinced them to look and they ACTUALLY FOUND the live turtles in a box onsite. The UPS worker was really upset because they were probably dead and the whole thing was really weird and kind of upsetting. When you get inside there's no sign or anything telling you to have your order number written down, but they announced it when I was next in line so someone cut in front of me while I was writing it down. Not a huge deal, but I was in a bit of a rush and would prefer to not share pens and things during COVID. When I got to the front they found my package really quickly and the staff members were pleasant. The one I was working with wore her mask under her nose which was not ideal. The lady next to me stood in the long line and the person working told her that despite the fact that UPS customer service confirmed her package would be onsite and *also* despite the fact that she borrowed a truck for the day to pick it up, she was SOL because customer service doesn't actually know what's at the UPS centers. Then, per door bell camera, they showed up at 12:45. Why did UPS lie to me? does their tracking software not work? can they fix it? I wish I could give them Zero stars. Yesterday I got an email that my package was delivered. I go home looking for it and it wasn't there. No note or whatever. I checked my email again to clicked on the link and to look for more details on it. It says undeliverable. Undeliverable with no explanation why it was undeliverable. Also undeliverable does not mean DELIVERED so don't email people it's delivered when it's not. Anyway, frustrated I that couldn't get more information from their site. I called their customer service number. They told me that it's held at the customer care center and it was open now and that I could come pick it up. This is more a review of the routing software that somehow leads to incredible delays anytime a package gets shipped through UPS. It's almost guaranteed that anytime I get a package through this horrible company it will be delayed by several days, even though the package is in a truck that is in my neighborhood all day, sometimes even delivering packages to my building. The levels of separation between any effort needed to improve their operations or business are so vast that they border on sociopathic. The hope of this company ever improving or taking feedback to heart on any level are abysmal if accounting for miracles. The automated call system ensures that their frontline customer service agents will be met with frustration to absolute rage every single time someone is able to miraculously reach them. From this policy alone they are doomed to absolute failure as this immediately reinforces a state of war between a so-called customer care department and their customers. The level of communication between their customer care department and physical locations are non-existent, and this is the least embarrassing aspect of this company's absolute failures. The customer care department is not even aware of their own policies, processes, hours or recourses of action. From the dozens of times I've called them to resolve issues on countless packages, they appear trained to default to giving as little information as possible, giving false information when they do attempt to represent their company, and blaming you when you call back to review the records for quality and training purposes. There is no form of compensation for lost time, money and effort, which is non-existent in practically all of the rest of the business world. The guarantee they feel regarding their future existence is a blight to business ethics, the shipping industry and their own company's reputation. In the end, they are digging their own grave that will either become a monolithic cemetery of pain for anyone that is forced to ship or receive items or the bed of bankruptcy they lie in as the world establishes a lower barrier of entry for distribution chains. I placed an order with Amazon Prime for next day delivery. It was a package that I needed for work the next day. The delivery guy never showed up, but the tracking information said delivery attempt was made. There was no door tag placed. I called the call center at 12:55pm to figure out when the earliest I would be able to go pick it up at, they said they will provide me with further instructions within the hour. At 2pm, I tried calling back again, they said within the hour. At 3pm, I called back again, same answer. 4pm, 5pm, 6pm same thing. They reassured me over the phone at 6:55pm I would be able to go pick it up that night, the people will stay there late if they have to, that they will definitely call me within the next hour. I never received a phone call, and at 7:55pm, the package finally made it back to their office. It was too late for a pickup. So I called back next morning to see if they could reschedule a delivery, put it back on a truck and send it to my office, to save me the 1 hour traffic drive out to their office to pick it up. They said no, only one change can be made to the delivery. That they will continue to hold that package at their facility. So pretty much I have to drive out to them to pick up something that I have no use for, but paid for. I'm going to switch to using FedEx when possible. The service is much better. You can have it delivered to a local FedEx Kinkos print shop and pick it up there rather than having to drive out to their headquarters located in the sketchy part of town. read more

I pay for two day shipping, package is scheduled to arrive on a Friday, but no package arrives. I get a notification that "due to operating circumstances, your package has been delayed." I filed a complaint on Saturday, was told it would take until Tuesday 8/18 to deliver the package and that the package was incorrectly scanned as on the truck. Oh, so six days to deliver a package for which I paid for 2 day? Cool. I then got a phone call on Monday 8/17 from "Marcus" saying it would be delivered on Monday and that it was on the truck. Here I am at 10PM Monday, and no tracking updates and no package. I live literally less than 5 miles from this distribution hub- so they're either a bunch of derelicts, or I'm being lied to, or both. Recently started hating UPS due to some Lazy A** drivers, Rude & irresponsible customer service ( if you could reach them) & Supper Unreliable Supervisor ( if they call you back after couple of times being transfered to different agents as a supervisor). If driver is not able to find any customer in 32 unit building with a management and just leaving info notices on door, and in a short while you receive an email that you can pick up your package next business day from access point... , it shows how he is irresponsible... No any other comment... I know it is a busy season of the time... but it is not a first time during a year. Get this he had it on his truck for 2 Days and tried to deliver it (that's what he says) after 5PM when we are closed. I called the main center to complain and they promised to deliver it before 5PM. Generally I have had no problems with shipping through UPS (and I absolutely LOVE my UPS Store in Pasadena), but the customer service for this company is beyond inferiority substandard! So, consequently, all of the shipping data was removed and I was advised on Saturday to, "... check back tomorrow for an updated delivery date." i was so furious that I called their international shipping department and got a 'live one' on the phone. She was chipper and upbeat. That's not the kind of voice cadence I wanted to hear from someone telling me that my package appears to be lost in transit. I tell her that I want her to fill out a form or look at the computer for some answers. She is beyond clueless, but offers to send me the form via email. But still, we don't have a person to speak to ever.
