We visited Watkins Glen for the weekend. We were very happy that it's a 5 minute walk from are rental. This place is awesome! Great beers! Awesome atmosphere! Great beer options and friendly staff. A must stop if you're in the area. I am not an IPA fan, but found a lot of nice beers to sample. Couldn't decide which my favorite was between Pumpkin Pie, Oktoberfest, Vienna Lager, Common Sense, or Mary Jane's. Try them all Plenty of parking and easy to find. Bar tender was very friendly and willing to assist. Can't ask for more with great service and great beer. read more

Stopped at their Seneca Lake location on our way up to Niagara Falls. We got sandwiches at the food truck and some beer in the tasting room. It's very convenient to walk around town from there. The staff were very friendly! We love the finger lakes and are looking forward to coming back. read more

Lovely place! I imagined it as a man cave. I left embarrassed when there was no option to leave gratuity on my card and I had no cash. Owner- you need to fix this!!!! Even Panera Bread leaves room for a tip. Your servers are losing out. And, oh, please tell your food truck guy to buy a quiet Honda generator or build a muffler box for his current one. We stopped here one afternoon this past week and what a great find! The place is literally on, Lake Road and easy to find. The beer sommelier was great and steered my fiance who likes a good NE IPA with low etoh content (under 6%) towards, Lake Road beer. It was excellent! I dont even drink beer but, I enjoyed this one! You can't beat the tasting + glass price. It's pretty awesome and totally worth it. I really enjoyed the Summer Haze, good light and summery beer, I'm not a huge beer person and I liked it. So much that I got a can of it to bring home with us. The atmosphere is great, I loved the chalkboard menu, so cute!! The sign inside the bathroom is awesome, the Variety of Beer - I think it's so awesome I will be buying my boyfriend one for his house. He loved the IPW and the IPA - said it was his favorite from the 3 places we had gone to visit during the day. He got a growler (he was disappointed they only had clear ones). The owner is a cool guy, he is very down to earth and isn't trying too hard to pretend he loves every beer, he's a hops kind of guy haha. We will definitely be back to try other beers and pick more up, not too far from home. Clean place with seating and pretzel snacks! I suggest a visit. read more

Problem being is they are always trying to make new and better beers so if you do find a beer you really like, there is a good chance that it won't be there the next time you go. However that is part of why I love upstate so much. So many people and businesses are willing to compromise once they find something that works. Upstate throws this model out the window and constantly cycles in new beers of any variety you can think of. This leads to this authentic and exclusive feeling experience knowing that you will never be able to consume this exact beer again. Upstate is creative, the people that work and go there are friendly. Throw in they bring a taco truck in on Tuesday's, and they sometimes put on live music or collaborate with other businesses and the community...... I just can't help but be impressed. A little place in the middle of nowhere, but definitely worth the stop. I was in love with the Double and the Galaxy 15 Plato. I am sure that place is hopping during prime hours. Their tasting area had some tables in addition to their long bar. There was also a small patio with a few tables as well. When I got there it was Sunday and they had just opened. I was on my way back to CT. They were not that far off the main road, so it was convenient as well. Cans of my favorite two from the tasting do not stick around long, so I had them fill two big growlers for me! read more

Stopped in 7/3 to give upstate a try. There IPW is very different. Has a very mellow taste with an bite at the end. The common ale I only sampled (should have got a Growler!) Was very different also and had a nice crisp finish to it. Would be a great ale to sit in the creek and drink. I see these guys going places. Hope to see an IPA next time I stop by. read more

Stopped in last weekend with a few friends and got to try a couple of tastings including Common Sense Ale, IPW and Summer Haze. I've had CSA before but first time trying the other two. I truly believe CSA is going to put Upstate Brewing Company on the map. I love that they have 4 packs and growlers for sale along with t shirts since their logo and packaging are awesome. pretty solid place, but I liked the beers at Horseheads Brewing better. They are in the process of expanding, which is a good idea because the main room doesn't handle too many people without feeling crowded. First and foremost, great beers. They always have a couple of new beers on tap and a staple of their favorites. What sets this place apart is the great service that I've had every time I've been there. As a home brewer I'm always looking to learn new tips and techniques and Upstate is always willing to let me know how they work their brews. I make it a point to come here EVERY time I'm back visiting my lovely hometown of Elmira, NY. A MUST stop! read more

If there's a sweet spot for micro-brewery tasting rooms between too small and too large, this place hits it. Nice long bar allows for plenty of access in this microbrewery that makes excellent beer, has very friendly staff, and generally make me glad I stopped by. read more

Yum! I love Common Sense, and the prices are reasonable. I think they recently expanded their hours which is awesome, since Saturdays only made things a bit difficult. Very friendly service at this 4YO brewrry (new talroom only 3 weeks old: roomy but echoey). Limited selection (6 beers on tap, but one was out when I visited on a Sunday). Had the Common Sense which was decent. Mix of out of towners and locals in what appears to be a dying town. Excellent selection of merch, though, which most young breweries don't take advantage of enough. read more
