These sales offer great reduction on items, so if you area fan of these brands or like in kind check out their website. The Olukai sale that I recently went to, offered predominately shoes. Most people were on the hunt for sandals, as their shoes tend to be over 100 dollars. The offerings were in big boxes by size where you had to hunt and peck for shoes. The offerings did not only include sandals, but also included slippers and tennis shoes. The men shoes had a lot more variety. Beyond the Olukai brand, there were couple of other brands being offered that provided yoga wear, snow wear, and sunglasses. The experience was good as fellow customers were not agressive. The event was pretty tame. If you have interested in a brand, and you don't mind searching through boxes, then this is a good opportunity to snag a deal. Just remember there are no dressing rooms at the events.

There are deals regularly, especially around times like Black Friday and before and after any holiday. I often take a book and read it outside in a comfortable chair (hopefully out of the sun) while waiting for her to shop. When we went with her parents once, I sat with my father-in-law outside and we eventually stopped by Starbucks for a beverage. There are more than 85 stores and restaurants at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets. My wife's favorite is the Ann Taylor Factory Store. There is also a Coach Outlet, Gap Factory, Michael Kors Outlet, and so much more. Some of the restaurant options include a Blaze Pizza, Starbucks (of course!), Jersey Mike's, Ruby's Diner, Rubio's Coastal Grill, Wetzel's Pretzels, Tea Monks, Panda Express, Oasis Tacos, Mot'to Japanese Grill, and Haagen Dazs. There are other restaurants a short drive from the Outlets if more sit-down restaurants are desired. There are plenty of sales, discounts, and deals. i LOVE uptown cheapskate. i'm not sure what Christina E. is talking about, as everything is clearly divided by size, garment type, and color. is that not the very definition of organization? also, what does fresh even mean when applied to clothing? i understand fresh fruits and vegetables but fresh clothing? consider the fact that you're in a re-sale store (meaning the items are previously worn); conversely, there are brand new pieces, bought wholesale, available to purchase. the jeans section is my fave, so many on-trend options; and regarding customer service, it's stellar. most staff are either a family member or family friend, you can feel the love, and the positivity; and a desire to please the customer. most re-sale stores smell and are a hot mess, not UC! owner ashley wirkus' uptown cheapskate turns the industry on its head. don't listen to the naysayers! it's a lovely treat. jhm read more

Had a very strange experience selling some clothes here! When I came in, they explained how the process worked - they needed 20 min to sort through everything but wouldn't give a price per item as that is too complicated, and told me they'd call me up to the front when they were finished. Once they called me, I didn't see what they took, but they told me they took 6 shirts and a small bag. That seemed fine and I accepted the small amount of cash, but when I came home to update the items I have for sale on my Poshmark account, I realized they totally lied about what they bought from me! They took 2 dresses, a pair of pants, a pair of shoes, and the bag. So dishonest!!! If you're selling to them, make sure you keep an eye on them sorting through your items. I went here last year. While the store was clean there wasn't anything that interested me to "trade" in my size. (large) There was 0 parking in the lot across from the store and had to shlep what I had to offer from the other lot. I'm pretty sure you will also get very little cash for the clothes they actually accept. I really should have had a look at the items she accepted, but they were in a bin 5' away and was offered $12.50 for the items she did take. In hindsight most likely around $1 an piece, which wasn't worth the time to bring them there. Think I'll try to sell what I have on either ebay or craigslist or just donate rather than do this again with this store. read more

One of my favorite shops hands down. I came in to sell clothes, some of which were older styles (took me a while to clean out my closet). Although they did not buy my older stuff, they did take some of my newer stuff, which makes sense. Staff was very friendly and helpful as soon as I walked in. I was looking for something for a wedding, and they took the time to help me look for the perfect dress and shoes. Everything is decently priced, and the store is one of the cleanest and most organized resale stores I've been in. Can't wait to go back, by far the best resale store in North County! read more

Wow! Uptown cheapskate has an amazing selection. They offered to give me cash on the spot for the clothes I brought in, and donate the ones that they weren't able to take! The store was much bigger than I anticipated and extremely organized. I was able to find great clothes at extremely low prices in the men's section and use the store credit from the clothes I sold. There were way more items that were brand new with tags than I had expected. The employees even helped find a couple items. It was like I had a personal shopper. Great customer service.
