A very affordable vibe. My first time here was Wednesday night. Parking is TWENTY dollars be aware and there isn't street parking anywhere. A trick I learned was to park at Sam's Boat, go inside order a shot and use the bathroom. Then go on over to Uptown. That way you can't be towed and don't have to pay $20 just $8. This worked for me. When I arrived it was lively but not packed. They offer $1 hookahs on Wednesday before 10! That alone has me sold. There are drink specials and happy hours every day. The food was okay. I have visited on a few occasions and have enjoyed them all. This place really gets going. They play upbeat types of music. They have drink specials on Saturday which was the nite I went. I think it was $6 Tito's which I was drinking among a few other specials. The bartenders do a great job in taking orders and fixing the drinks strong They are known to their hookahs as they were on almost every table. They also serve food which their wings are enjoyed the most. They also have a large outdoor patio with lots of seating. Now the parking seems to be tight although I have usually parked next door while visiting Sam's boat. You will also be patted down before you can enter. This is a good thing. It is never an issue to be searched, but to be groped, grabbed and touched inappropriately is beyond me! The lady security gaurd that is currently there is very misguided on what her job entails. I love Uptown!! My boyfriend and I frequently go there when we feel like stepping out for some drinks and hookah. Compared to other bars, uptown is inexpensive, plenty of seating without having to buy a section, pretty good bar food and great priced drinks. The servers are always kind and attentive too! I enjoy coming to this spot! You sit in any section you want, you place your own orders, and its a good vibe. I love their wings! The boneless henny bbq wings are top tier! I'd also like to highlight the integrity of the waitstaff, as I was about to leave the counter from paying and the waitress came from behind the register to flag me down and give me my card, as I must have forgot it at the counter after paying. I give this lounge 3 stars, not because it doesn't pass the vibe check (it does), but because there are a few hits that prevent this good spot from being great. Parking is not free. You can pay between $5-$15 for parking which can situate you as far from the bar ($5) or as close to the bar ($15) as you would like. However, paying for parking does not guarantee the security of your vehicle. After reading a recent review where a person's vehicle was broken into, paying for a spot did not instill any confidence. I was a bit concerned about the safety of our vehicle throughout the night. We got in and went straight to the patio (because we are still mid-pandemic) and were low-key confused about whether or not they were going to service the tables. There was no real direction - no signs on the tables or chairs - indicating that we had to place our orders inside. We were further confused because it seemed like one table outside was getting service. However, we wizened up quickly enough and placed out orders inside. One of the hookar tenders behind the bar (barhookahtenders?) was gracious enough to acquiesce to my request to change the channel to the NFL draft - I truly appreciated that bit of hospitality. The menus were sticky (helllllooooooo hand sanitizer!) and the drinks were tasty but not very strong - which might just be my own personal preference. Outside of these minor concerns, I had a great time. The weather was perfect, the music reminded me of a happier, more simpler, pre-pandemic time, and the hookah was well balanced. I am extremely disappointed on a few things with this hookah bar. 1. You have to pay for parking 2. Once inside you seat yourself, however the wait staff is standing around when they should be taking your order, which leads you to the bar to place your hookah, drink and food orders.
