We had to ask about the reserve hour happy hour special and then she billed us non happy hour prices for happy hour drinks. Stopped in on Christmas Eve night cause literally nothing else was open. I had the lamb chops (huge), mash and mac & cheese. Everything was good but if you don't like a lot of seasoning in your mac, then this won't work for you. Drinks and hookah were good. Our bartender was a little standoff-ish at first, but later on she was really cool (Tay or Jay). Nice selection of music played... we stayed from 10:30p-2am just vibing. I had a great time at this bar. Be advised, this bar always MARY JANE to be smoked inside and you WILL smell upon leaving the establishment. Drinks are always good and strong here. This is a very small and narrow location. There is a single restroom for men and women and it's hardly clean but I understand that from people who are high and drunk. Service is slowwwww. Don't expect anything In a hurry. Music is always a vibe. They get great DJs to come play on the weekends. Hookahs everywhere so it gets pretty hot inside. I have only had food once and it was just ok and very cold. Houston has many other spots but my friends keep wanting to come here to I figured I would be honest about my review. If the service could get a little quicker and they could follow the rules on capacity for the size of the location, It would be more enjoyable. Around 12:30 a.m. on December 31, my friends and I visited this establishment. The music was good, and we ordered a hookah and requested menus. The hookah arrived, but the menus never did. About 10 minutes later, a staff member came out from the back and spoke to us very rudely, telling us we needed to get up because we hadn't ordered anything, even though we were already smoking our hookah. We decided to leave--not because we didn't plan to order, but because of his attitude. This place could be much better with more courteous customer service. Came here after hubby b day dinner. We just wanted somewhere to chill for an hour then go home It's real chill but was also pop'n if that makes sense. We sat outside and it was loud as all get out! Came here for brunch and the food was good. The lamb chop ( dinner style) was good. We also ordered the mimosa tower, it was okay. Everything flowed smoothly. The spot was in a nice location too. "Some" of the spots around Atl are a bit suspect meaning I don't want to park my car there. And the spots are extremely small. IJS. I went to Cru for the first time last Saturday and had a ball! My friend and I arrived shortly before 10:30pm, and by 11pm it was packed out. Thankfully, we were able to grab two bar seats where full service was available. The food, drinks, music, and overall vibe was great. And the hookah was probably some of the best I've had here in Houston. My friend ordered the wings and I had the fried lobster tail and fries. DELICIOUS! I was actually shocked by how flavorful the food was. The crowd was a little young for my preference, but it's a spot I'd return to for sure! Saturday July 6, 2024 I had a 2pm reservation that was set up about a couple on of weeks ago on Resy. On the day of one of the guests told me that Cru Lounge is closed and doesnt open until 4pm. I couldnt believe it because I was allowed to book at 2pm and also no one called me from the establishment about the reservation to let me know that this isnt a time that can be booked. I called the establishment someone a male answered the phone and confirmed that yes the establishment doesnt open until 4pm. I told him that I was able to book at online that time. He said he doesnt know why but they are not open. Horrible customer service. I was already parked and had others on their way to the establishment. I had a really good time at the spot. I came here because a friend invited me out as they were celebrating H town Ciera's birthday. It was lit! Everybody was drunk . I'm not sure how a lot of those ladies made it home lol. The lighting there is green which was it an interesting ambiance. Hookahs, music and food were all super good. It's in a great location. They don't have a parking lot so you have to find parking in the streets, y'all know how downtown Houston is. But this is a really good venue that I will definitely be coming back to. read more

We didn't have a reservation so they said it was "standing room only" but there's literally no where to stand without being in the way so eventually we ended up getting a section. You have to buy a bottle with a section and they range from $120-$250 so it's really not a bad deal. They do charge you for bottle service so just a heads up. I'm from nyc and I came here off the strength off my friends recommendation. The only reason it's not getting 4 stars is because the fried shrimp they brought out was way too salty. I had fried shrimp and French fries. I ordered cbd hookah mint and lime which the price is not friendly. But they don't have that in nyc so I had to try it. We had a great time last night at Cru. They had R&B night and it was a nice crowd out on a Thursday. There was no door charge which was nice and we were promptly seated outside. They had decently priced Hookah, the drinks are pretty pricey but common for downtown entertainment. Our server was Tay and she was awesome. The customer service from everyone was actually exceptional. There was quite a few staff members that came around often to check on us and it was a full house so that was even better that they paid attention to everyone. When in Houston we'll defiantly be back. I look forward to going to the other Cru spots in the US, and hope the exceptionalism is matched. read more

Cru is definitely a very chill place. They have DJs that come in. The only time I have came was on Fridays. My favorite DJ comes that night. Ask for a waitress name Tori. She's the absolute best with A-1 customer service for sure and truth be told, she is THE sweetest there. It's very laid-back. They have hookah and they have food. I've tried their food before and it's actually pretty good; fried rice it was so good and their French fries. It's pretty cool spot to go to pregame before you venture out for sure, or if you just like a chill place with some hip-hop, this is a nice place to go to. Ugh I did not want to leave this review but this is the 2nd time this has happened to me. So here it goes: Good stuff: Me and my friends go to Cru all the time & it's always a vibe. We buy bottles, hookah, The music is good, the food is amazing. The DJs are always good (especially Kelz). It's free to get in and the tables/ sections are free, you just have to reserve it. Bad stuff: about a month ago I made a reservation for my bf's birthday. We were about 5 mins outside of the 15 min grace period and they told us that they gave our reservation to someone else (which, ok cool. We will take our L) well it was other empty tables who missed their grace period & they didn't want to give us those tables, but gave it to guys that walked in. (I'm assuming bc they thought they were going to spend a lot of money & they didn't) we ended up in a friend's section who had to buy a bottle to get it (even though sections are free). FF to tonight, we walked in at about 9:30 it was dang near empty. We had the drinks flowing, hookah going, food ordered. At 10:50, the waitress told us she had a reservation at 11 so we were gonna have to leave. We asked if her guests weren't there by the end of the grace period, could we stay bc we were still eating and drinking. She told us there was no grace period and they hold tables until the party comes (a lie according to what they said before) but that we "could see" what happens... we continued eating and at she kept trying to push us out.. at 11:20 she came up to the table (mind you the reservation isn't there & it's outside the grace period)and y'all I kid you not, as my friend was putting her food in her mouth she grabbed the plate from her. She was not finished with her food. I think that absolutely did it for me. That's so rude and the place still wasn't packed, no one was even waiting to be sat. I think she simply just wanted us to leave. I used to love this place but it seems like they only want to serve people they think are spending thousands of dollars and the poor customer service is not okay. I've spent wayyy too much money at this establishment and I hate to say it but I will not be returning nor recommending Cru any longer. :( read more
