The stylists at uptown genuinely care about making sure their clients have healthy hair. It is apparent that the people in the community appreciate them and what they do for hair. While I was getting my hair done people were stopping by for conversations and they were all very welcome. My only qualm is their phone service. To make an appointment I had to call multiple times and leave multiple voicemails. It took almost two weeks to speak with someone. Just recently I tried to make another appointment and no one called me back after I left a voicemail. I no longer live in the area and I was willing to drive to them to get my hair done. I was in at 10am and out by lunch! I got my hair done today and just in time before I head back home to Seattle. I love it! AWESOME!- I had never had a weave before so you can imagine I had some anxiety about it. My experience was great, CeCe is wonderful, friendly and patient! I love that she took her time and explained everything to me. I had a sew in weave with a natural part done by Cece. She colored the weave to match my hair,the color was perfect. When the sew in was done, it was beyond my expectations. The weave and my hair blended so well it looked natural. She was very gentle too, the hair did not feel tight and it didn't hurt. I had a great experience here last Saturday and will be returning soon. I am African American and I recently moved to Riverside County from L.A. I found the salon through yelp and through the great website for the salon. I've always felt that there are two types of beauticians: those that "do" hair and those that grow hair, and Cece definitely knows how to grow it! Cece and her mother Louticia promote using natural ingredients, and when I say natural I mean lavender, honey, aloe vera, etc. The first thing that Cece did was examine my scalp and the overall condition of my hair, and suggested a natural scalp treatment and time under the dryer before washing and styling. I was very pleased with the results. Louticia even makes her own shampoo and conditioner, and she gave me a sample of her scalp moisturizing solution as I was leaving. Cece took her time with me and there was no waiting for her when I arrived. You can pay by credit card if you choose, which is nice. The shop is nice, clean, open and peaceful. It's also located around the corner from the best Marshalls I've ever been in, if you have a somewhat substantial commute and want to relax and shop before you turn home.
