I cannot remember the last time we stayed at a Sheraton property since they were bought by Marriott ten years ago. The lobby of this hotel is a bit stark and felt cold (not the temperature). We were pleased to be able to check in early (and check-out late) and to get an upgraded room as a Platinum member. I don't recall though if they offered me the Platinum welcome gift of points. The room on a high floor had a good view and was nicely appointed though the carpet needs to be replaced. Not only was it looking worn and dirty there were ridges in it where it was buckling. The bathroom was a bit dark but it had the hottest water I have ever had in a hotel. It was so hot from the tap you could make tea with it! With our status we had access to their club room on the ground floor. It was OK. It was a bit spartan as were the happy hour and breakfast offerings. The location while downtown is at the northwest edge so it was a bit of a walk to many of the typical tourist attractions in town. And finally interaction with the staff was OK not exactly warm and welcoming.

The bill was corrected although they said we only got one breakfast instead of two.

We'd definitely stay here again the next time we're in the city. No ice machine or bucket is the only drawback but they have it at the desk if you ask.

No basic info given on housekeeping, ice, etc. LOBBY: Small front desk, restore, Rise breakfast spot, Relax lounge with TV's, business center, gym and laundry facilities. ROOM 2710: It's really a 1-bedroom studio. A musty smell greeted us but I guess we got used to it. A/C was strong and easily controllable. Views were of the southeast skyline via floor to ceiling windows. Blackout curtains worked well. The queen bed, pillows and sofa were really comfortable. A kitchenette sported a sink, dishwasher, stove, pots, pans, plates, utensils, glassware, microwave, refrigerator & freezer, Mr. Coffee maker and toaster. BATHROOM: The door was dirty but I always bring my wipes. Shower water pressure was adequate with good drainage. AMENITIES: Iron & board, digital safe, hair dryer, all the usual bath products. No ice bucket could be found in the room but we finally discovered a freezer inside the restore (next to front desk) that had prepackaged Ziploc bags of ice for free. HOUSEKEEPING: After asking the housekeeper, we learned it's available every other day. OVERALL: A definite repeat.

Getting there early morning, we were delighted to hear our room was ready and we could drop off our luggage, freshen up and go explore. Right from the beginning, the service provided by "Vicki" was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable, kind and made our trip even better. Upon arriving however, we did notice it was quite warm in the lobby, and she explained maintenance was still working on it for the past 4 days. Entering our room, we can literally see the entrance to the Reading Terminal Market from our window. If you were to exit the hotel and cross the street, you're literally there which is a huge plus since we visited there quite often. The room we stayed in was clean but with a couple hiccups. The most noticeable was the refrigerator. It would make a loud and constant whirring noise every 20 minutes or so which continued during the night. Luckily, it was located the furthest away from our bed, so it didn't bother us. Another hiccup is the bathroom door doesn't lock. It seems the locking mechanism didn't reach the latch. The complimentary breakfast was passable. We both ended up taking very few items and didn't revisit again during our trip. As for the price point, we found it to be very reasonable for our stay. For 3 nights, it came roughly under $600 and we would stay again if we were to visit Philadelphia. Overall, a very nice hotel which conveniently is located right across from the Reading Terminal Market and is very close by many other sites and areas of interest.

Up to our room I was pleasantly surprised with the layout (we had a one bedroom suite) which had the kitchen when you enter the room, a small dining table, sitting room with sofa and TV, off of that was the bathroom and bedroom. Everything was clean and the room was a good size. Two windows had views of the convention center and downtown. The two rooms had individual AC controls which was nice to customize the spaces. The Home2 Suites offers a free breakfast every morning. The selection is not to our preference as it was mostly a build your own breakfast sandwich type buffet with bagels, breads, sausage patties, various egg based omelets, a few pieces of fruit and not much else. I'm mostly plant based and there was nothing appealing to me there for breakfast. SCW while she did appreciate the various plant milks available for her morning coffee said one morning "this is terrible coffee". We used the gym a few times which has free weights, treadmills, elipticals, a peleton, and a cable machine. The laundry area is also connected to the gym. I had to call once to get some towels in the gym which they did promptly provide. We did have a problem with the fridge not cooling, and they swapped it out quickly. The employees were helpful. I enjoyed our stay here. If you enjoy the Reading Market this location can't be beat. It's quite literally across the street. I wouild consider staying here again.

The maintenance team removed a shade from a lamp in an attempt to help, but the weak bulbs failed to provide sufficient illumination. If it weren't for this issue, I would've rated Courtyard four stars; as it stands, I won't book another room here until ceiling lights are installed, which is a shame because otherwise, the room was well appointed with a comfortable bed & great shower pressure. Front desk employees were warm & welcoming. Lobby area has a bright & spacious lounge. For food options, there's a Trader Joe's located across the street, as well as drinks, snacks, & basic medicine & toiletries for sale in the lobby. I don't make it a habit to quote the Bible, but please, Courtyard, let there be light!

Staff was friendly. The breakfast was ok although the breakfast area is too small to accommodate everyone; I ate my breakfast in my room. The best part about the hotel is the location. It is only 10-15 minutes away from many attractions. I would stay here again.

Then it gets weird... I got back and could sense this horrible smell. Found it from the sofa foot rest... I raised two kids and that is the smell of pee.... I reported it. They insisted on claiming it is from liquid spilling.... Well, I raised two kids. That is pee.... Red flag one. They moved me to a different room. Slightly better view than the first. Room was okay for the price. At least cleaner. But AC wasn't working.... After setting temp to 85 and turned to heat, the room stayed at 63. I was freezing at night could barely sleep. Complained and guess what.... I got a portable heater in a four star hotel. Second night here.... I can hear drilling.... At 10pm. It was on and off till 1:30am. Called front desk a few times. I was told that they are not aware of where the noise came from. Around 1:15am, I called and complained about the drilling, I asked if they have called 911. They told me no. I found that odd and asked if I should call 911. They said yes, you probably should. So I called 911. At 1:45am, it was still drilling. Called front desk, no one picked up. I went downstairs, called 911 again. I eventually heard that the hotel was doing waterproofing work at midnight?! What? The front desk was nice and upgraded my room to top floor with some discount... but I was moving at 2am for the 3rd time with a four star hotel. Gym was decent here with a peloton bike and good options for weights. There is a pool but I didn't have time to visit. Sky lounge was okay with decent seating and some light drinks and refreshments. To get in, you need a room key. It was impossible to do when you first check in.... This is an odd hotel overall. 1 star to the one decent front desk person that helped me and the okay gym.

My only complaint was the bed covers were as thin as a sheet--the thinnest covers I have ever seen and difficult to pull over you. I need a heavier cover to sleep well. There are 2 large self parking garages right next to the hotel. One across the street that has a "deal" with the hotel for $50 a night. And another one in the 2 bank location building next door I got 24 hour parking for $16.00 on Spot Hero App. That garage has a 24 hour security guard in the lobby and access. It is tight turns if you have a large vehicle may be a challenge. Staff at Motto was friendly, helpful, and the location close to lots of great stores and restaurants at all price levels. I walked from here to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. "The Love" 2 blocks away is a great restaurant if your budget is about $50 pp. Downstairs in this hotel is a café open till 10 pm. I was able to buy a banana there for about $2.50. There is a rooftop restaurant not open on Sundays. Next to the hotel is a 24 hours grocery store that will make you breakfast lunch dinner 24/7 and has cases of everything you need. Amazed to see they even have cold bottles of Ensure. Philly is a great walking city but keep in mind whether you stay at Motto for $100 or $400 at the Ritz a few blocks away, downtown Philly is filled with homeless and mentally ill all over the streets and parks and some groups in parks that seem like trouble can start right away. I did not really feel in danger, but it's very uncomfortable to walk around with all this but guess it's park of the culture of the city. I would return to Philly for a visit, not sure about Motto only because of the bed covers.

This isn't difficult or inconvenient. + There's a fitness center in the basement where you can refill your reusable water bottled (I've seen some people complaining free water bottles isn't offered: a) if you ask them at the front desk, they'll give you a bottle that you can then b) refill as often as you want). That being said: - This was not the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at. The floor of our room hadn't been swept, there was hair in the bathroom sink, and there were yellow/brown drip stains down the wall in the bathroom. Since this was underneath the lone garbage can in the room, I'm gonna assume it was coffee. So, maybe bring some sanitizer wipes? - While I didn't find the floor we stayed on noisy (we also weren't anywhere near the elevators), I had a hard time sleeping because of how loud the AC was. This is partially user error: I should have just kept it cold, that way the AC stayed on the whole time providing white noise. Instead it kicked on and off all night... groaning in protest every time.
