I cannot discourage you enough about this company. I booked a stay for my family of 4. It was an…read moreupwards of $300/night. The booking process was smooth. However, after we checked in, we quickly realized that one of the windows' latch was broken and being on the 16th floor with rain and temperatures in the 40's, we could not use one of the rooms at all. I emailed the Ur hip and they said that it would fixed shortly and they would send someone up. After a few hours with no maintenance personnel in sight, I emailed them again. We were reassured that someone will be up. The manager of the apartment complex came and took pictures and said it was definitely broken and left. We had a 7 night stay and the window never got fixed; in fact I was given a step by step tutorial in one of the emails 'how to close a window' which as quite insulting since I felt that our request was not taken seriously. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment and could not use the second room at all and had to sleep in the living room. Urhip was emailed constantly and we were constantly ignored. We were never reimbursed. I am now waiting to at least receive my deposit back from this shady company. Truly disappointing experience.

I recently stayed at the 1955 Locust St location in room 2F for a work trip…read more Staff: The day before my arrival I got an email with entry instructions for the front door and then to get into my room then later in the day I received a phone call to make sure I got the email and they wanted to make sure I didn't have any questions. I also received text alerts with info. They communicated with me via text several times throughout my stay to make sure everything was to my liking. I also coordinated with them via text about trying to store my bag for several hours before my 5pm flight out. They kindly offered for me to store my bag at their offices that weren't very far away; however, I ended up storing it at the UPENN lab while I went to the museum, etc. I didn't have any issues but my impression was that they cared about my stay and wanted to make sure everything was going good for me. Room: I stayed in 2F so had to walk up 1 flight to get to my room. Everything was very clean and I felt it was roomy in the three spaces: bathroom, bedroom, living space/kitchen combo. Decor was fine. Bed was very comfortable. My only gripe about the room was that when the heat would come on it would blow air against the opposite wall and would jingle a decorative lamp that had wind chime like things hanging from it. I had to lay a shirt over it to mute this. I didn't want to relocate it. Other than that I slept very well once that was solved. Internet was solid, as well. Location: I love staying in Rittenhouse so I knew the location would be good. Ultimo Coffee across the street has amazing espresso and the croissant was also delicious. There were plenty of neat places to eat nearby. There was snow on the ground so Rittenhouse Sq was especially beautiful. I didn't notice any loud people at night. It is just fun enough of an area to have lots of options at night but not so bad that you have to deal with woo girls outside while you are trying to catch some zzz's. Verdict: I'll be back.

I stopped by 1900 Arch to check out an apartment for a friend and possibly for myself. I…read moreremembered the construction phase, so I was curious about the units, price points and amenities. When I walked in the door, a very friendly security agent walked me to the leasing office. There I met and spoke with Elizabeth. (That's what the card read. Since she never introduced herself, I'm making an assumption.) Cordial still, she asked me to complete a visitors card, so I did. She handed me a brochure and took me to see a unit. As we were walking out of the leasing office, I quickly realized that, as I was following Elizabeth, I was being followed by a man. We walked through the lounge area and then stopped at the gym, where Elizabeth told me a little bit more about the gym space. And there was that man right behind me. Then we walked down the hall and into an elevator. All three of us. I looked at said man, who enthusiastically says, "Hi! I'm Chris." And he extends his hand. As I'm shaking his hand, I explain to the both of them that I feel like I'm being followed like I'm in a store. Chris responded: "We tour in pairs." It was incredibly uncomfortable. I've toured many apartments in my life and I've never been greeted with the "front and follow" surveilliance tactic used by law enforcement. I honestly felt like I was being led to a jail cell or the guillotine. The goal was to either: 1) make me feel so uncomfortable that I'd never move in or 2) protect themselves from me because I looked menacing. I'm tall, thin and used to model, so that's how I carry myself...always. I wore an Armani winter coat, Burberry winter scarf, Tiffany & Co. pearl earrings, and mink fur gloves. I simply don't have a menacing presence. So I can only assume that their goal was the former. By the way, the units are average. I don't recommend moving here.

I had no idea that building was being used as an extended stay! I guess anything goes with PMC!…read more This review is for 1900 Arch Street Apartments. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT rent from PMC Management Company. This goes especially to Penn Law and Wharton grad students. I'm a Penn Law grad and attorney living in Philly. I recently got transferred to my firm's NYC office. I was more than willing to pay the lease break fee for my apartment but then the management company told me that I would still have to pay rent for the remainder of my lease if they are unable to find tenant. What is the point of a lease break fee? I told PMC that I would just sublease the apartment for the remainder of lease and they informed me that this was prohibited. I pointed out that the lease does not prohibit subleasing and the tenant only needs written approval from the landlord. PMC's response: All subletting requests will be denied! Soo basically you want me to pay a lease break fee and the rent for remainder of lease? What is their incentive to re-rent my apartment if they are guaranteed rent for the remainder of lease-- especially when they have many other empty units? Absurd! Then they threatened to charge me double rent if I didnt move out by my early move-out date. Are you kidding me? Of course that would never hold up in a court of law. This is the treatment I get for keeping my unit in immaculate condition and paying rent on time for the last eight months. Bottom line, this property group/building is not for business professionals who might need to transfer cities or graduate students who will have summer internship in other cities and need to sublet. I will be sure to post this in Penn's off-campus housing reviews and alert HR at my firm. There are so many new apartment buildings in Philly. Based on the reputation this property management company has created for itself during my short time in Philly, I recommend that you save yourself from the drama and headaches and rent somewhere else!
