Good location, and very friendly staff. However, this coffee shop was not what I expected from the Yelp reviews. I did not like the atmosphere, design, layout did not appeal to me. Very noisy environment, and at the time I was there the outside tables was constantly populated with smokers which obviously filled the air at my table full of smoke. Not as expected. read more

Totally an awesome place! My friends and I sometimes come here to kick back and have a good time - usually at the couches. The place is pretty small, but really cozy. A really nice place to bring a date or friends. They have a shelve of books right next to some very comfortable couches. There's free wi-fi and affordable pricing. The owners are really friendly people, and the atmosphere is genuinely relaxing. This place is way better than any of the big coffee giants like Starbucks or Coffee Bean! I've been here a couple of times since moving to Glendale, and I'm so glad other Yelpers told me about it. It is a tiny local place that is perfect for hanging out over coffee with friends, and quiet enough for working on a laptop. The service is a little slow (but very nice), so I wouldn't plan on running in here on your way to work, but if you have time to hang out, it is wonderful. They use real cups and plates, you guys. That is so rare nowadays. And with fairly low prices and free parking for 90 min., it is hard to beat. read more

Urartu Coffee is a nice intimate coffee shop. I recently learned about it as I've never really been a coffee person. There is a parking structure right next to it and you shouldn't have to pay if you don't stay very long. I ordered a latte and was in and out in a few minutes. Since I grabbed my coffee to go, I didn't get a great feel for the vibe inside. I wouldn't have minded staying longer to do some reading. Come here and support local coffee shops! read more

Urartu Cafe is a great little local family-operated cafe with wonderful food and a free, recently speed-upgraded WiFi connection available for all platforms - PC/Mac/Linux/Android. The crowd is often an interesting mix of the neighborhood and students. The creative, delicious and affordable cuisine is only outdone by the friendliness and attentiveness of the owner/operators. There are a good number of plugs for us laptop users and a couple of hard-wired towers for others along with printer/scanner. Unlike chain restaurants, here those who want to sit for a while online while sipping their coffee, tea, juice or hot chocolate are not made to feel uncomfortable. This is not a huge place though, but that is also part of its charm - its human, personal scale. Definitely steps above the Starbucks or any other nearby experience. Urartu is hidden away on 119 North Maryland above Broadway, but situated with parking right next door. I love this place - it has been a refuge for me many times from occasionally hectic Glendale. So I saw this place here on yelp as I was looking to get breakfast at somewhere new this morning. The rating looked (very) good so I stopped in and was very warmly greeted. I let the host know I had never been there before and he immediately recommended two sandwiches and a few croissants which as he pointed out, were just baking as we spoke. (how unusual!) He then told me which items were the most popular (the Urartu twist, Urartuccino, and Italian Sandwich) and explained what was in them. Upon hearing about the Urartu twist and commenting about it sounding too sweet, he offered to tame it down a bit so I ordered it along with a fresh strawberry croissant. The coffee was very smooth and tasty, not burnt. The croissant was one of the best I've ever had. I would return specifically for that croissant and the service. It was hot, soft, perfect amount of flaky and more importantly, not completely drowned in fake red goo. I highly recommend this place. read more

The coffee drinks are ok. The chai latte far too sweet. Could hardly taste the chai. Service is about what you'd expect. First dude was fine, the other dude making drinks not so friendly. Urartu is great place with awesome coffee. I had a large Iced Mocha latte with whipped cream for under $4. With starbucks on almost every corner here in Glendale, I was happy to give my business to a local shop. The staff was extremely friendly and gave us quick service. Unfortunately, the management/owners of Uratu fell beyond short in the customer service/expectation area. My sister and I were very excited to find what we thought was a unique spot, and we ordered sugar free iced coffees. I have never in my life tasted something so putrid, nor had my sister. So I nicely went back to the counter and asked if I could pay the difference for two iced mochas. I was shocked when I was asked to pay for them without a credit for what I had already paid! When I told her I had already given her $4.70 for these 2 coffees, she said to me "Well I can't use these," pointing to my two coffees. Needless to say, I dumped the coffees and packed up and left. They could certainly take a lesson from American owned companies who know a thing or TEN about customer service. Them replacing my coffees would have been cheaper than the bad publicity she created with me. read more
