My Pros and Cons about this place. Pros: 1. It's great place someone to learn how to cut hair. 2. Very staff, the student are friendly as well. 3. Prices are very good for various haircuts, or hair washing, shaving, etc. 4. It's in a good location, the studio size is very big as well. I went and I got my haircut a while back ago. I even paid a bit more to have one of their more seasoned barbers cut my hair. She did an ok job but I would have expected a bit more. Especially, if she was suppose to be one of their more seasoned students. The sides of my head didn't match up! Which I learned from this... Never get your haircut at night!!! You need the daylight to truly see the quality of the haircut. It wasn't horrible but I think I will just go else where. I just parked in front to have my nephew explore the option of attending this school when 3 men with the Urban Barber College jackets came out. They were all cussing, really loud, at passer-by people. Also, the one that is heavy set purposely hit a women with a small baby in her arms, making her wobbly and almost dropping the young child, while the 3 laughed and held their boba drinks at 2:15p or so. I think before teaching barber skills, they need to learn other basic life things. My nephew and I turned around and left. read more

I've been coming here for awhile and enjoy the service. The Students really deliver. One student, Joey has been cutting my hair for over a month now. I showed him a pic of a cut I wanted and he made it look better than the pic! He really took his time, put a lot effort in the cut, stepped out of his comfort zone, and made it his own! He really personalized the cut by putting his own creative touch and made the cut look feminine and fabulous on me! I am always highjy satisfied when I walk out this place looking and feeling good with a smile on my face. I always get a lot compliments on my haircuts where ever I go. I was thinking I was going to get an amazing haircut, but boy was I wrong. If I had common sense, the mere fact that it's a barber college is a dead giveaway that they're still learning how to give hair cuts. I give it a 3 because I'm generous even if my haircut sucked. I had passed by the Barber College a few times, and decided to give it a try. Walked in and told them I wanted a hair cut and paid for it. Went in the Main Barber Area and immediately a young man came up to me and I was lead to his chair. I gave the young man a photo of what I wanted done (High Fade with long hair on top) The Student (Chris) proceded to have me a very thorough haircut and seemed to want to make sure we communicated well and he did exactly what I wanted. For 8 dollars I got what would have cost from 50-100 in the city. I had a nice straight razor shave around the back and the detail was fantastic. I'm going back. Been coming to Concord location for a few years. Always been pretty pleased with my haircut. I know it's a learning environment and some have more experience than others. I've got a simple, straight forward cut so I am happy with the price/value. All of my barbers that have worked on my hair have always been polite, welcoming and anxious to give me a cut I'm happy with. I'm knocking one star off because I usually see a few between doing cuts on their phone and/or snacking. Urban Barber College is as legit as it gets for a good haircut at a great price. I went into today for a fresh cut after visiting Urban Barber College several months ago. The first experience I had with Eugene, who graduated and moved on, made me need (not want) to return, as the team of students are highly motivated to do a great job to make you look sharp. Knowing that my man Eugene was no longer there, I was a bit sad, but I knew that whoever I was partnered with would listen to my styling needs to help me achieve the look I wanted. After waiting about five minutes after paying for the cut at the front desk, I was introduced to my barber for the day, Doug. Doug asked me about how I'd like my hair cut and styled and actually listened, unlike the run-of-the-mill places like Great Clips, as he made sure at every step that I was happy with my cut. After falling in love with the use of feather shears on my last visit, I found that Doug had a set of his own. This is something that I have found other places do not utilize, and the difference between a typical shear trim and feather shear trim is very noticeable. As others have stated, depending on your style and what else you'd like done, be prepared to spend about half an hour in the chair, as the students are still learning and are all about quality and not speed. This is something I found out on my first visit and am very appreciative of the amount of time that they put into making their clients happy. This is my go-to place for getting a sharp, stylish haircut. It's in a great spot, as you can always stop in before or after visiting one of the local restaurants in the strip. read more

It may be a school but I've always gotten the haircut I wanted in a friendly setting. The students/barbers/stylists (what do you call them these days?) really REALLY want to be there and it shows. They're always helping each other and sometimes, when you have a new student, it becomes a team project. I dunno know. I like it there and have no intention of going anywhere else. Just got back from UBC, ahhh--that feeling you get after a fresh haircut! Especially when you're satisfied with your barber. I usually cut my own hair, but I decided to stop by and see Nate for a fade and taper. He said he'd been attending the college for a couple months now, but he's been cutting hair for years out of his garage before that. He seemed to know what he was doing and made me feel comfortable knowing I was in good hands. I was surprised at how well he payed attention to detail. I would say the price is what brought me in. I am so tired of paying $20 for a haircut for my 9 year old and it's nothing really special. I was able to quickly get him in and started on a haircut. I forgot the gentleman's name who did my sons haircut but he's in chair #1, but he took his time and did an excellent job. I am always concerned about my sons lining as many people tend to push peoples hairline back. This young man did an excellent job with the my sons haircut overall. This is a school and as such the students are the ones performing the services. I get that. What I don't like is that in Saturday's their hours are listed as being opened until 4pm. But they habitually close early because they don't have enough students to cut. They don't have enough students to cut because they leave early on Saturdays. This school used to be a reliable place to get a decent haircut at a good price and help the students gain experience. But over the past months it has slowly gone down hill. So i am a very picky person when it comes to finding someone to cut my hair. Ive been with the same barber for 5 years! When I say I've never let anyone else touch my hair I mean it. One day my barber was closed and I was in desperate need of a haircut! I seen some work he did and was very skeptical at first but decided to give him a shot. So I contacted Arvin malaca and set up a good time to come in and the rest is history. I'm the type of person who sits on the chair and my barber just knows what to do. I showed Arvin a picture of how I wanted my hair and he went right to work. He is VERY PROFESSIONAL!! I was mind blown at how good the haircut turned out. To be honest I wasn't expecting my haircut to be that good. Definitely will be going back for another cut by him. I give him a 20 out of 10 stars. This place can be pretty hit or miss, My kids have had really good experiences and some really not so good ones here. But My son's hair isn't even hard to cut and sometimes the student barbers can't give a simple fade, but other more experienced barbers usually do a better job.
