I'm obsessed with Suss and everything Jasmine and her team creates! I was first introduced to Suss Pastries at my local coffee shop Driftwood. From the fruit pockets (pop tarts), cookies, muffins, but my top 2 favorites are the pumpkin loaf. I could eat a whole pan of that lol and her strawberry corn loaf. Honestly, everything here has been amazing and I will always support a small business over a chain any day of the week! Can't wait to see what specials she pops up with next!

Suss pastries is a must try! The shop is super cute, and the pastries taste delicious. I got to try their famous pockets, and I was not disappointed. My husband tried two different pastries, and couldn't stop talking about how good the guava pastry was. We received great service, and answered all our questions. We definitely want to come back and try their different weekend pastries!

Good! I had a green chilie pastry that had everything bagel seasoning on the sides. It was very yummy but I do think that the dough could have been more buttery and the filling to have more green chili flavor. Over all a good place to get pastries.

Found this spot by accident while eating lunch next door, and it is an absolute must-try! They have a beautiful selection of pastries, including tons of gluten-free options that actually taste amazing you would never know they're gluten free. I tried the GF sweet potato loaf and honestly could have eaten ten of them. So good. Jasmine, the owner, was incredibly kind and welcoming and genuinely expressed gratitude for us trying her shop, which made the experience even more special. They also offer breakfast items that looked insane, and we're already planning to go back this Saturday to surprise some friends who are hosting us with treats from here. Highly recommend!

I've tried their pockets ("pop tarts") at other cafes and when I saw them pop up in the Too Good To Go app, I knew I had to snag a bag. I stopped by one weekday morning around 8am. 7th ave and 7th st get confusing with the reverse middle lane and no left turns at certain times. With that being said, I made it here okay and parked in front of their storefront. They share an entrance with a restaurant and they are on the right when you enter. The staff member gave me my box when I showed her my order and I peeked inside before I left. I got 4 pockets: 2 date brown sugar, 1 strawberry hibiscus, 1 blueberry lime. I was excited to get these! I tried them when I got home and really enjoyed the blueberry and strawberry ones. The date one was nice but too sweet for me, I prefer the sour flavors. Great value, delicious, and a good way to fight food waste and support local business. Win win!

Bought two "pastries" there Saturday . Neither were very good. Not really pastries, just cookie dough. Didn't finish either of them.

A while ago my friend and I were at Window Coffee Bar and tried the blueberry lime "pocket" there. It was one of the best pop tarts I've ever had, and we learned that it came from Suss Pastries. We finally made it to the bakery today (09/06/2025). It is located inside of Corner On the Market right next to Hatch It Green Chile Burgers & Tacos. It smelled so good as soon as we walked in, both from Hatch It and the bakery. Suss offers both sweet and savory options. We were just there for the sweets. They had three pocket flavors - Blueberry Lime, Raspberry Prickly Pear, and Date Brown Sugar. Blueberry and Raspberry were also available as vegan and gluten-free. We got a raspberry pocket, a date pocket, and a Brown Butter Cinnamon Roll! You can also ask for it to be warmed up, but the roll was still a bit warm anyway. The nutty aroma & taste from the brown butter really took the cinnamon roll to another level. The raspberry prickly pear pocket was really good too and a little tart. The date brown sugar pocket was good, but not something I'd order again. I'm sticking with the berry flavors. On the bakery side, there are a few stools at a countertop where you can sit and enjoy your pastries. There are a few tables on the Hatch It side as well. Connected to that is a market, but we didn't explore much - got too distracted by the delicious sweet treats!

Very cute inside, love how it's decorated. Small and quaint like a bakery should be. Employees were super welcoming and nice, toured us around the pastries. We took home a good couple and everything was just delicious, especially that pop tart! Actual pop tarts are awful, but the one they made...top titties. Good stuff!

The pastries are incredible at this place! If you go please try the poptarts every flavor I've tried I LOVE! Even the vegan ones are incredible which is not an easy thing to achieve. I've had their pastries at a few of the local coffee shops around Phoenix and I'm so excited to have found where they're made. It's spotless and attached to Corner on the Market (super good baked goods and good with seating) and Hatch It (which has an amazing breakfast). Good place for a date night or to take friends.

Such a hidden gem. Looked inside the Orangewood Estates at the corner of B Missouri and 7th avenue. Cute decor and smells magical inside. Jasmine, the owner greeted us immediately with a smile. All the food was made to order and delicious!! I had the Rotating Veggie quiche... spinach and leek. Delicious!! The opener also gifted my best friend with a free dessert off her choice.... Saw this place on IG and immediately wanted to try. I rolled up early on a Saturday morning blabbering to the owner and she was just so sweet lol I got a prickly pear raspberry fruit pocket, date & brown sugar pocket, corn sugar cookie, guava linter cookie, and the chocolate cake with horchata mousse and espresso frosting. The fruit pockets were good! A little on the sweet side for me but good nonetheless. My kids enjoyed them. My mom devoured the guava cookie. I love that it is dedicated to AZ and is just so cute! The corn sugar cookie was good and unique. The cake was amazing! Not too sweet. I am a mousse girly through and through so having a HORCHATA mousse?! HEAVEN. My heart was so happy. Cute shop, great service, amazing product.

This bakery is an absolute gem. The outside seems unassuming, but what Chef Jasmin and her team create are an absolute dream. Her pockets are delicious, the pastry dough is made from scratch and so are her fillings. My favorite is her chorizo pocket. I buy them and keep them cold to reheat the next day. Pro tip, they microwave extremely well. Her pastry dough is that good, that the quality does not decline after nuking them. Her cookies are fantastic, if you love sugar cookies try the corn sugar cookie. It will change your world. The weekly specials allow me to buy an extra sweet treat just to try and they are always worth it. If she ever has one of her cupcakes on it is a must try!!! Other than everything being fantastic, what I truly admire the most is the scratch baking and that everything is packed with flavor while not being overly sweet.

Super cute case for some of the goodies! 2/1/25

Go go go!! Suss is a local gem with an amazing, sweet owner and awesome handmade pastries. You can't go wrong with any of their pockets (their take on a pop tart), but my favorite is the brown sugar date! It'll remind you of those nostalgic childhood ones you grew up but on steroids. Her cake slices are also very tasty, cookies, bars, etc. Highly highly highly recommend trying the unassuming corn cookie ... it may look simple but if you like salty and sweet, this is for you!

Shall we? + The space is charming, pastries' display impressive, staff seem intent, good location and vibe. - The prices, lack of a menu on display, and details. See below. Latte large requested cup and saucer and almond croissant. Inquired about quiche but did not look attractive sitting alone in plastic in a cooler. Poor thing. The Latte Latte well made, four shots. Alright, then. Good cup and saucer. Amen. Then asked about stirrers. Told to use a plastic spoon. Please tell me if anyone in France would ever stir a real hot coffee in a proper cup and saucer with a plastic utensil. Anyone? Right. Please offer wooden stirrers to guests and bonus points for a real spoon for those of us who don't want a paper cup. It really makes a difference. It would be criminal to use plastic. The (Sort Of) Almond Croissant An almond croissant is the secret test. It's like tasting vanilla at an ice cream store. Forget the others. This is the litmus. But before we talk almond, I had to do a double take on the receipt that thankfully I emailed myself. Because is this in Soho? West Hollywood? The Bay? How did this turn out to be $14? Because the almond croissant is $7. Say again. Never mind the best croissant spot in the West Village is less than that, but I took a bite, and oh my. I almost got up and said something. But I really was not in the mood. I had other things to attend to. Where do I start. Well, there was barely an almond to speak of. Hint of almond. The paste was like a disappearing act. But that I can handle. It was the texture. It was hard. Tasted old. Bland. Forgotten. Like someone forgot about the almonds, forgot them in the car. It was July 4th, and they remembered. I've had better croissants at airports. Ok, in the EU but you get the point. Did I just choose the wrong pastry, or the wrong day? They all looked pretty. Everyone got the berry thing. The Table My table was wobbly. Not awful but enough to be annoying. Between that and my phantom $7 almond croissant. The one left behind before someone remembered the almonds. That one. Can anyone use one of its cousins to hold up this table and fix this wobble? Might have been a better idea than breakfast. The Restroom Ok, cute idea to have a kitchen utensil as the restroom key. Nifty thought. Here's another. Can the liquid dispenser for soap be repaired or replaced? That too is wobbly and broken. You see the theme here. And dry hands. The (Bare) Display Case I had read about sandwiches. I love me an egg salad. The display case was bare. Maybe M-F? Lots of (plastic) pellegrinos. No Perrier or other sparkling in a real glass bottle. And definitely no Orangina. The Plants The plastic plants on each table. For the outdoors, sure. For an indoor French cafe table with $7 croissants, not so much. The theme again. The Staff They seemed stressed. I don't know why. When I ordered I felt more tension and rushed then a my corner pizza shop in NY. I don't get it. They tried though. Like it feels serious. High stakes. No smiles. All three not one smile. An Encore? Maybe. Overall, maybe. I don't know if I chose the wrong pastry and the wrong day. Could it be that. The Bread The bread looked good. I will give it that. And more expensive than my local bakery in NY. My Orwashers loaf purchased weekly is $12. And the slice it. And bigger. And they smile. But maybe if the bread is good, I am happy. It's hard to find good bread in Phoenix let alone this area. The Menu Please have it displayed somewhere with prices. Think that's a professional courtesy. I went online to see the menu from my phone. Or even a code to link. But something. A strange visit. Quite different than expected. I had hoped. Now I don't know. If anyone of the items mentioned are addressed for the next visit, whether the wobbly table, wooden stirrer or real spoon, or restroom soap, or even better a smile, or an almond more, I'd be vastly delighted. I'd love for this to work. There is time.

It's smooth, rich without being too heavy, and the flavor actually develops as you eat it instead of just being one-note sweet. You can tell they take this part seriously. Leave it outside the fridge for an hour and watch that cheesecake melt on your tongue crystals (if you have the patience for that) Their rotating monthly flavors keeps things interesting, and you're not just stuck with the same lineup every time. Out of what I tried, the banana pudding one was easily a standout--super nostalgic, creamy, and just done right without being overly sweet. The coconut one was also up there, more subtle but still really clean and flavorful. Love me some coconut! They also have a punch card system--buy 9 slices, get the 10th free--which is a nice touch. It lowkey turns into a mission because once you've tried one flavor, you kinda want to work your way through all of them anyway. Now...the downside. The customer service just isn't great. It's not aggressive or anything, just noticeably lacking. There's not much warmth or engagement--it feels pretty transactional. For a place that clearly puts effort into their product, you'd expect at least a baseline level of hospitality, and it's just not really there. So overall, if you're going to Banhams, go for the cheesecake. The rotating flavors keep it fresh, the quality is legit, and it's definitely worth trying.
