All I have to say is JACKEE is the absolute best for me. The staff here is really nice and friendly. I prefer to have Jackee do my make up. Here's my update: I was late from getting my hair done and was late for my appointment. Jackee was able to squeeze me in plus on top of that she recognized me right away. (she knows her customers) Let me tell you I was grumpy for being late and still having to get ready to go to a wedding. As soon as I sat in that chair and she started doing her magic, I calmed down from my high horse. She suggested these amazing eyelashes ( everything she suggests actually works with me and makes me happy) I like that she remembers my preference for a soft brown smoky look to my eyes. I also love that everytime she does my make up, all the other staff members bring their clients to show what could be done. I am always impressed at what Jackee does for me, she will now be my regular go to lady for make up on speical events. I love Urban Decay; I have the Smoked palette I got at Sephora but it has been almost a year and I haven't made any improvements on my outer appearance. Not only does this beauty tendency takes time, it takes a lot of money, too. I bought 3 things and it totaled to a little over $110. Friendly girls that seem to know the products but based on my single experience here, the girl isn't meticulous so when I left, I realized that my lashes were not put on evenly. I wonder how many folks I passed that saw but did not point out the obvious. OK, maybe I'm a little too critical but a centimeter is a huge thing when it comes to makeup. Nevertheless, I walked out of there w/ my stomach flu feeling very pretty... I got their brush (to apply foundation) that I kept because you can feel the quality. I returned the liquid eyeliner and foundation only because I have a MAC foundation already (yes, I bought on impulse). The lashes were decent but I prefer the ones at MAC. In the process of returning 2 items, I bought the eyeshadow primer w/ antiaging thing... I love it. This Saturday they will host a "Makeup for those on the Go" at 10am. It's $50 but it goes towards the products and you get a goodie bag (not sold at the counter). I am contemplating if I should cancel for financial purposes but since I've been a little more attentive w/ my overall external appearances, I think I may keep it, attend the class, and look pretty everyday. read more

I love makeup. I really do. So much that my boyfriend knows not to get in my way when I'm applying. So much that racking a $150 tab doesn't even make me flinch. It's worth it. If you love MAC, but they turned you away because you were in your "day time' clothes and you don't want to deal with it anyway, this is your spot. Very cute girls with current (not trendy!) styles. Music (that I listen to!) blaring, and inside to the left of Macy's is UD. Kina told me to stop by and she'd give me some samples of face stuff after a conversation I had with her about my ongoing dilemma with face powder/foundation etc. She was super helpful, informative, and not at all pushy. I've known this girl and have been assisted by her throughout her retail career. This is your go-to girl. She gave me samples to try out with my purchases and even hooked me up with a makeup do-over with instructions on recreating it on my own. She made the whole thing interactive by involving the other makeup artists, and made it more like a session with the girls rather than putting on makeup on the counter. I'm not surprised there is another positive review for Jackee. And she didn't even do my make-up :) This Urban Decay is small (located inside a Macy's), but I love it! Even when the Naked1s were sold out at Sephora this UD always had plenty in stock. They had a Naked2 launch event recently because they were selling the Naked2s at the event a day early and they were giving out free gifts. The problem was, I pre-ordered my Naked2 palette and wanted to cancel my pre-order if I could get it in my hands earlier. I explained the whole situation to Jackee over the phone and she was so helpful. She told me to come in and stand in line for the palette and that she would take care of me. When I got there, I asked for her by name, and she offered me champagne and strawberries, and said if I had any questions, just to ask for her by name. I got my palette signed by the creator of Naked2 who was there for the event, got $58 worth of free gifts (2 Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color and 1 Supercurl Curling Mascara) and went to go check out. Jackee was able to get the manager there to help me try to cancel my pre-order so I wouldn't have to come back again and do it. The manager told me I couldn't do it on the spot, but said it was possible to do over the phone. Even though I didn't get my make-up done by Jackee, I really appreciated her patience and how much she was willing to help me. I absolutely love Urban Decay. I gotta admit I was a bit of a non-believer at first. I tend to be picky at make-up. Don't believe all that you hear about make-up!! Just because they sell it at Sephora or a major store, does not mean you should affirm it's quality. My usual brands are The Balm, Kat Von D, and sometimes MAC. I started to take an interest in Urban Decay when a friend of mine bought the Naked Palette. It consists of a full size brush, primer, and 12 eye shadows. For under $50. Fabulous quality. Honestly this make up speaks for itself. It does cost a little bit more than MAC, but I cannot deny the quality. Also, the customer service here is beyond great. Both Diane and Jackie have done my make up (natural look and dramatic look) and I received many compliments for the work done. When you get your make up done here, you can just call them ahead of time (which is what I did) or even just walk up to them if it's not too busy. If any of you are new with getting your make up done at the mall, you basically let the artists do your make up for your entire face. In return you have to purchase a certain amount in make up. At Urban Decay, you are required to buy 4 items (FALSE LASHES DO COUNT AS A PURCHASE). When I got my make up done, I was so happy that I bought 5 items. It's really easy to spend money if you're into make up. If you're a newbie, they sell palettes with many colors that anyone can learn from. You can easily ask any of the employees to show you how to do something specific, like smokey eye, and they'll totally give you a mini show. I love everyone who works at this Urban Decay location. They give off a really warm, friendly vibe and don't make me feel inclined to buy everything. They really listen for what I'm looking for. I definitely think if you want a make up tutorial, want a fresh new look, or are just looking for some quality products that aren't cheap but are also not ridiculously expensive, Urban Decay is for you. read more

I usually don't come to the Valley Fair mall but my cousin really wanted to go since she is from the central valley. I love urban decay use it on the daily. I wasn't too happy with the customer service last week. The girl who helped me had almost platinum blonde hair and seemed a little pushy. You know in a " what do you want, make up your mind" kinda way. I ended up buying more than i wanted but soon returned it at another macy's location. So I was on a mission today @ lunch to buy a birthday present for one of my very good girlfriend's. I thought I would be in and out of the mall since I already knew what to get her, but low and behold I was persuaded to stop by the Urban Decay counter... Maybe he (Tony) caught me off guard (I was on my Crackberry replying to an email) and I wasn't ready to say my polite "no thanks, I'm on my lunch" - but, somehow, he got me to go over to try on some lip color and then some. (I guess it helped that I had no lip stick/gloss on, since I just finished getting a quick bite to eat)... I hate to say this because I'm a LOYAL Laura Mercier user, but he convinced me to becoming an Urban Decay fan. I love the fact that they are a "vegan" line. The shadows have a great pigment, primer is awesome, and he even got me liking their mineral powder (mineral make-up does not work well with my skin. I tried a few lines & no bueno). Oh, and the prices are very reasonable compared to what I'm used to paying for make-up. He definitely got me because I walked off buying a new shade of lipstick & lip liner... Oh hollah! Their eyeshadow primer isn't enough to make me say that Urban Decay has the power to make one shine...CUZ they also have a "mattifying" cream. I would have never known about all these had this one staff not approach me about a few years ago and invited me to have this little chat. Eventually, one of my friends that was with me that time got a free makeover and she absolutely looked stunning - not too made up but definitely much much better. Hells to da yeah, their staff is super friendly AND GAY - in the most delightful way. They are very open to answering your questions and are more than willing to let you try their products. They'll put it on for you and also give you instructions on how to do this and that. Although I am not a fan of their eyelashes (made of synthetic plastic material and not hair), I have bought about a pair or two and they have worked really well. Monique is sooooo right to compare the staff here with MAC. Urban Decay in this location - inside Macy's - is friendly and seemingly very genuine. What is there to say about my favorite cosmetic brand that you don't already know? Yes, this location inside Macy's is a MUST visit! My girlfriend and I were dropping in here to grab an eyeliner for our friend to check it off her Bday wish list. We were in a hurry to get to our work out so we just popped in and told them what we wanted. She even offered to teach me how to put on the eye-shadow one day when I have time to come in for a lesson. I just recently decided to stop at the counter in Macy's on my way out of the mall. I noticed some really pretty eyeliners and the girl at the counter was super friendly. She showed us some fabulously bright colors which I absolutely love! I got a glide-on eye pencil in deviant and covet which automatically pop on your eyes. I also bought a pretty eyeshadow pallet that had some vivid colors that can be mixed to create different colors. I am a new fan of Urban Decay Makeup! I absolutely adore this counter! I first came by when I was just getting over being sick (and thus did not look or feel very attractive) and I noticed a poster outside of Macy's advertising Urban Decay. Since I had just gotten contacts and actually felt more comfortable wearing makeup, I decided to go by. The service at the Urban Decay counter is excellent. I have felt increasingly put out by the service at MAC, sometimes feeling like the employees were a little on the snooty side. Not so at Urban Decay. The girls and guys are all super-friendly and don't pressure you to buy things. Instead, they ask you if you need any help, offer to put makeup on your face, and then let you decide what you want, if anything. I now know a number of the people at the counter by name (Christine, Sylvia, Jenna, and Karla) and they all recognize me and give me great makeup tips. I love going in there just to say hi and maybe pick up a couple of eyeshadows. =D Bottom line is that Urban Decay, unlike some other places, has a great environment and really friendly workers to go with amazing products. I've came here a handful of times to get my makeup done for various events, and for night out's. I love that I was greeted immediately and was asked if I needed any help. I went here looking for eyeliner and Monica essentially helped me out the most. She was very kind and saw that I was also looking at the Naked palettes, so she talked about the different palettes and said which ones go best with different uses, skin tones, etc. Then she took her customer service to another level and offered to test the eye shadows on me to solidify my decision with Naked. When she was applying the eyeshadows she we had a nice chat, and she even talked about how great the company is even though she's a new worker. She talked about how the company does not use animal hairs or tests on animals, and gave me advice on what kind of brushes to use. She was awesome! Will definitely come here again in the future. The only UD counter near me, so I can't complain. I make sure to hit up the UD counter AND Sephora, just to get a full range of what's in stock. The employees are a little aggressive, but they are really nice, and I appreciate their passion about the product. It would just be nice if they knew more than I did about the stuff they're selling. (I'm a huge UD loyalist who spends a WAY lot of time online checking out their products, so it's rare that a UD employee can tell me something I don't know.) However, they have done some really great makeup looks on me, and in the end, isn't that why you would go to a counter instead of just picking up the makeup at Sephora or ordering online? read more

If you're finding a place todo a full face makeover, this is the place! I recommend to schedule an appointment with Dre aka Megan. She is truly amazing. She was able to do a wedding appropriate makeover while keeping the whole makeover process fun. She's easy to talk to and you can tell she knows what she's doing. Her technique is quite unique. She does the eyes first then the foundation then finishes with the eyebrows. Trust me her technique works!! I had a lot of compliments on my makeup & totally recommend Dre. I've been to Mac & Sephora for full face makeovers, but they don't compare to this Urban Decay. All the workers are friendly and approachable. The tools they use are throughly cleaned before each makeover and cleaned again after the makeover is complete. This place is totally worth the purchase of 4 products. read more

Awesome! 24/7 eyeliner 24/7 concealer I've recently fallen in love with eyeliner and I've also been searching for a long-lasting eyeliner and perhaps it's because of my Asian eyes but I have trouble with eyeliners staying on. I wanted something water-proof and awesome and after purchasing a well known drugstore brand that sucked ass...I won't name names but **ahem Revlon***) I was determined and willing to spend money on an eyeliner that would stay on! I researched Urban Decay products online since the counter is always packed, and I kind of wanted to be informed before heading over there. I saw something that caught my eye (har har) a product they have called 24/7 eyeliner- and they offered some spectacular colors. I headed over there the following day with my 50.00 gift card that I was itching to spend and ended up purchasing two 24/7 eyeliners and a 24/7 concealer. Yes...I have never ever used concealer but have noticed that possibly with age...(yuck) that it looks like I need some minor coverage. Basically, I am hooked...and have a few other items I want! The reason why I go to Nadia is because I LOVE her energy, not only is she fun but professional as well.. She makes me feel comfortable and doesn't try to upsell me. Also I love and trust the way she does my make up. In my latest profile picture that is actually her work! I even had a friend asked if I got my eyebrows airbrushed! OMg! i had the 1st best experience at the Urban Decay counter in valley fair the day after halloween! the customer service there was great and verry warm welcoming! i had gotten my makeup done by CJ which i believe is the only guy that works there and the MOST CLEANEST/SANITARY especially with his CLEAN brushes! Hes AMAZING! He taught me step by step how to do a new makeup look using 4 different colors which i would have never thought of using that turned out BEAUTIFUL! The mineral Powder i bought that day is also one of the best! he showed me the differences between bare minerals vs. urban decays mineral powder. Its alot less steps than the bare minerals and alot more nicer!!! Later that night i went home and took off the makeup on one side and replicated the other eye. All of CJ's advice were a big help to me! I would totally recommend getting your makeup by CJ because hes not pushy when he does your makeup. I've been hearing really good things about the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer, so I decided to give it a try. I was instantly greeted by Jade, and she showed me the different types of eyeshadow primers but recommended the original one for me. She also let me know that they just got the professional sized one - I was sold! Jade was incredibly helpful and friendly, and she wasn't pushy about trying to get you to buy additional items; she just introduced us to a few of their other sets. This review is for Jade, make up artist extraordinaire. I was washing/cleaning a fake eyelash that I had been wearing and boom, into the sink drain it went. So I knew I had to go to Urban Decay to pick up another set. I found an Urban Decay location available at the Macy's Valley Fair. I was reading up on all the great reviews these girls had and I decided to book a make up appointment. There is a 4 item minimum for full face makeovers. I knew I would buy a few sets of eyelashes and I also had a date scheduled for that night, so I decided to just go for it. I called in first thing 10am (Saturday), hoping and praying they would have an opening the same day. I got super lucky and they were able to have me come in around 11am. Yes! I walked in kind of early and was greeted by Jade, this awesome chick with tattoos and cool hair. She turned out to be my make up artist. She was so nice and so awesomely cool, I had a mini lesbian crush for a second. All of the girls here are nice and are so friendly. They are such bad asses when it comes to make up and creativity. Anyway, back to my lesbian crush, Jade. She was so nice and helped answered all of my questions. She asked me what look I wanted and of course I had no idea. But I loved the makeup she had on, so told her I wanted what she had on. Done and done. Results were amazing. I loved what she did and how she tweaked it with my face/skin tone. I ended up walking out with a few sets of eyelashes and some de-slick oil mattifying products. I was so happy with my make up that I spent almost 20 minutes just taking photos of it to have "on file" to look at. I went here with my friend to learn how to contour. I know that the people that work at these booths will do your makeup but you need an appointment and to spend a certain amount. The girl working that day, Celine was super nice and was more than happy and willing to teach both of us about how to do it, even though there were other customers there that she could have been selling stuff to. She did an amazing job and then I ended up buying about $200 dollars worth of products. Once I got home I realized that I should have just bought it at sephora/ulta because i'm a rewards member at both stores. Came here last Saturday(9/8/2012) for a full face appointment with Nadia. This is my first time at Urban Decay but I am familiar with their products. Nadia was very attentive to me while doing a great job on my makeup. It was like getting my makeup done by one of my girlfriends. Very friendly & down to earth. I went for a smoky, dramatic look with a pop of color on the lids. I added lashes to make the whole look pop! Nadia did an amazing job! I received tons of compliments at the cotillion I attended later that evening. The makeup stayed put the entire evening! I used to get my makeup done at MAC at Eastridge Mall because it is closer to my neighborhood. But after trying out Urban Decay at Valley Fair, I don't think I will ever go back to MAC! Plus, I personally believe the artist at Urban Decay are much more down to earth, friendly, and attentive to clients (no matter what you look like). My only negative is in exchange for a full face, you are obligated to purchase 5 items. It can get pricey, so next time I will stick to lower value products. I wonder if it would be better to put a value rather than number of items you have to purchase? Anyway, I was very pleased with the service & the look! I've been to Urban Decay in Valley Fair a couple times, and always get amazing help. Ashmere is WONDERFUL! She was so vibrant, friendly, and helpful beyond words. I was one of "those" customers...walking in 20 minutes before closing and asked to be matched for foundation (having worked in retail, I was kicking myself for coming in so late, I know how annoying it can be!), but Ashmere made me feel right at home and I had a great time talking to her.
