My boyfriend and I went to this horrible Sephora, Tuesday 23rd at 11:50am. ( Just in case you guys need to look up who was working that day on the schedule.) Upon arriving no one welcomed us; which initially wouldn't be a problem but as we continued walking in they did great other customers. Customers of a different race. My boyfriend and I are African American, so it's not hard to pick up when people are choosing not help purely because of what we look like. We even walked past a worker with a terrible bob and clearly botched filer job. Not a peep. I was looking for a vanilla scent that day so we went to the fragrance area. As I was looking around no one asked if we needed help, which once again I said would be okay if the primary reason didn't seem to be because we were black. They asked other people if they need help and completely ignored us. I had to ask a worker who was about 50-60 years old with a blonde bun (which I recommend she loosen because baby it's snatching your edges) . She was not friendly at all and seemed to not understand what I was asking of her. There was another lady with glasses and red/brownish who was also no help. At this point customer service needs to be worked on and maybe teach about discriminatory practices, unless they lack range. Either way it doesn't take rocket science to work at Sephora as shown with your choice of employees; I found the scent I was looking for and ordered it through the actually company online. Next time I'll just go to Ulta Beauty. So yea-1000/1 I would avoid this location at all cost. Sucks when workers make the environment unwelcoming, especially when not one in there gets paid enough to be that rude. read more

Had a great time shopping here! Shoutout to Gina, one of the Sephora associates, who helped us purchase and find what we wanted. My sister and I were looking for colognes/perfumes to buy. I was stuck between two scents from the Replica line - Lazy Sunday Morning and Bubble Bath. I had a really uncomfortable experience at this Sephora location today. I understand customer service is important, but throughout my visit I felt overly watched and followed around the store. I was repeatedly asked if I needed help and if I was ready to check out to the point where it no longer felt welcoming, it felt targeted and uncomfortable. I actually used to work for Sephora years ago, so I understand the difference between genuine customer service and when staff are closely monitoring someone because they suspect theft or are watching what's in their basket. Unfortunately, that's exactly how this experience felt. As someone who works in the beauty industry and regularly shops at Sephora, I left feeling more harassed than helped. I hope management can reevaluate how loss prevention and customer service are being balanced, because no customer should feel uncomfortable while shopping. read more

I so love my makeup done by Jasmine at this Sephora location. Booked a 60 minute full make up& from the beginning till the end, she was so pleasant & worked really professional. I had compliments from people in the store after her work more so at the wedding where I attended that day. I hardly ever go to Sephora because it's expensive. However I always come here for the Dior lip addict for my mom for a gift. They didn't have the shade I was looking for in the display and I asked the people that were around the section and one girl said she works in hair and I need to find a Sephora worker. Another guy came over and I asked him and he was so sweet but he didn't work in makeup either but went to find someone for me since there was no one around but people who didn't work in makeup. When a makeup worker came she looked like she didn't even want to help me and looked in the drawer for two seconds and said they were sold out and just walked away instead of recommending something similar. It just finalized why I prefer to go to ulta where the workers actually want to help and have solid recommendations and customer service. read more

To be fair, the employees here are always so stressed so I try not to go to this location. But on ocassion when Valley Fair Sephora is the only location that has my Rare Beauty lip oil in stock, I'll do an order pick up. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the employees work hard but probably because they're constantly dealing with loss prevention, teens thinking they need retinol, and demanding customers who need something and they need it right now?! I get it. Perhaps my experience is unique here but I always got a not welcoming vibe and more of a "hurry up purchase your item and leave" vibe. My recommendation? Did a online return and the sale associate made it a hassle to do my return. When it came to one of the products that I was returning she denied my return because it was used "more than 20%" I asked for the manager which the manager approved the transaction since it was good within usage. It's unfortunate this associate was deliberately making the whole transaction difficult. I was hoping to shop after my return but the experience made me just want to shop online. read more

My review is more about the customer service rather than products. I went to Sephora to figure out what product I can get to replace mine which was discontinued. Individual named Michael came to help me and was pretty passive aggressive and made me wanna just leave the store. I ended up going to Nordstrom and preserving all my make up from there. I literally just came out of this Sephora in the mall with my bf and whoever is managing the floor in the perfumes is so rude. she was telling the other workers and loud too, that she looks at peoples shoes and eyes to see if they are gonna buy perfume and made my boyfriend feel so uncomfortable just because of his shoes and not ONE person helped him because of that.. just wow. horrible managing skills for the new employees on the floor. The customer service here is absurdly unsatisfactory. Every time I am here with another person or two, employees always follow customers like a dog. It's invasive, almost suffocating in a way, because having several employees eye you down when you're simply shopping makes you feel like you're doing something--EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT! These employees will approach you with a positive attitude and then they just watch your every move from that point on. It's understandable to be on alert, but this is not the definition of being on alert, it's way too much. read more

I live in Dublin and always go to the sephoras in that area, it's a whole different world in valley fair Sephora, the girls are so mean, roll their eyes, reject helping me, try to ignore me and quickly pass me as I'm asking for help. One of the girls at the register rolled her eyes at me because I asked if something was in stock, I had to ask her because no one on the floor would help me. She radio someone to ask about the stock check, that person came up to her and said "are they looking for *item*" the cashier said yes and they both rolled their eyes and sighed. ????? I only come to this Sephora when I'm in the area but I can say every time I have stopped by, the customer service is great. This day, I went in to stock up on some faves and try some new products. Jaqueline was at the register helping check me out helped me color match for a product that I was indecisive about. She even had the info sent to my email. Long time customer of Sephora, but I won't be coming back here. Super uncomfortable experience due to the unhelpful check out associates. Nice associates on the floor and ask you if you need help. Some of them do not know the products very well. Not as messy as it was a couple years prior, so atleast that has changed. As for the unhelpful check out associates, when you have questions they seemed irritated and unprofessional. I came back to make a return and also purchase new items. This specific check out associate looked at me like I was an inconvenience and had a bad attitude when I was asking simple questions about my return and my points. They couldn't answer the questions I had and just plain dismissed me instead of getting a manager for assistance. They called a second associate over and it happened to be the associate that didn't know the products very well. They both failed to called a manager or resolve any questions or concerns I had. I recommend that if cashiers do not like working with customers and don't like putting in the effort to resolve issues they shouldn't work with customers. There needs to be customer service training and product knowledge training for sure. read more

Pretty standard Sephora which was packed with wall to wall people on President's Day. They had the Urban Decay eye pencil color I was looking for, which Macy's was out of. I went straight there and grabbed one while my husband waited in line as it was so long he was afraid we'd never get out of there. I looked around for more stuff but noticed the line was moving fast due to lots of tellers. A tall guy came up and asked me if he could help, which was nice. He was buzzing around the room like a bee asking everyone. I joined my husband in the line and the checker told me I get a little freebie since it's my birthday month! What a great surprise!! I'm blown away by how every time I go into Sephora that no one helps me. I asked someone for help and they said they would get someone. They passed by me several times not telling me if someone would help me or not. I stood there for 10+minutes and finally decided to leave. I like the idea of Sephora and it used to be fun to go into their stores. Went to this location and asked specifically for vegan and clean and chemical free foundation. They recommended 2 different brand and one of them was YSL foundation. Since I have been helped by to different employees, I asked both of them twice, Are you sure that YSL foundation is clean? and both said "YES" . Later that evening I checked Sephora's website and realized YSL brand does NOT consider as clean/ Vegan/ chemical free. I went to another location later and they said YSL is not clean/vegan. Employees at this store should have this in mind that when a customer specifically asks for clean makeup, either it's her/his preference or they have medical reasons for their request. This was my very first time shopping from Sephora stores and at this location I felt diceived and disappointed. read more

Come on Sephora! Do what's right! My son purchased a $75 gift card for his little sister from this location (which is 2.5 hours from where we live) and when she went to use it and the cashier said "there's no money on this card." I spoke with Christopher the manager and he did call me back after me making 2 phone calls. He said he would have to contact loss prevention and he would get back to me. Have not heard back from him. This is ridiculous and I feel Sephora is a very unethical company that takes customers money in hopes they will just give up and not want to spend the time and efforts to get their money back. We have a bank statement with the proof of purchase, I told Christoper that I would be willing to drive there so we can look at the security cameras to prove my son made the purchase. All this because Sephora is incompetent and does not have a system in place to take care of this!! I have read numerous reports just like mine on-line about gift cards and Sephora. I had the best time yesterday with Rue. My husband and I came in looking for a similar routine we could use for redness and dryness. I think it was a Peter Thomas Roth type day which I honestly have never considered because it's pretty pricey, but OH MY GOD what Rue picked out for us... left our skin feeling absolutely PHENOMENAL! We got the water drench line, and one of my favorite products is the Firm X Peeling Gel which is a chemical exfoliant (no crumbs or beads to scrub) which is way better for red skin. My husband has super dry hands and cracked fingertips and used the peeling g gel on his hands and they feel soooo soft. I tested the product by putting it on my bathroom countertop to see if it's the product that turns into what looks like dead skin or if it's really dead skin coming off your face. And it turns out it really is skin coming off your face after the peel! We got a morning and night routine with all the steps and last night. It was Rue who helped us find and design this routine, she spent so much time picking out the exact right products and testing them on my skin. They really helped fade the irritation of my redness. And that evening I still didn't have tomato cheeks. She was so cool and kind and I really hope sephora treats their star employees well. Best customer service I've ever had at Sephora! read more

The best customer service ever! After having the worst customer service at oakridge location I came to this location instead even if it's further of a drive. This location is always busy so I figured I was going to have to do my own research before making a purchase. As soon as I walked to the farmacy isle I was immediately greeted by swan. They asked if I needed any help or have any questions since they are a skincare expert. I informed them how I wanted to update my skincare routine due to me wearing a mask everyday and having to wake up more early. I even told them how I got a horrible reaction to skinfix. They immediately told me I have incredibly sensitive skin and pointed me to other brands that are good for sensitive stress skin. Swan was very informative and gave me good tips on what to do for my skin. After swan helped me out I was then waiting in line. The cashier was much more friendlier and helped me out with my exchange and additional purchases. I noticed every employees helping out many customers in their busy store! They all still manage to help out as many customers as they can. I thank them all for helping me and everyone else out. Thanks again swan! read more

Typical typical Sephora. I'd assume their service would have gotten better but in reality it just got worse. The greeter as I barely put my foot in the door, "Hi, was there anything you were looking for today?" Me: "Yes, the new Reboot foundation." Greeter: "What?" Me: "Makeup Forever's new Reboot foundation." Greeter: "Oh MUFE is over there." Me: "I know. Can I get someone to shade match me?" Greeter sees someone walk in: "Hi, was there anything you were looking for today?" 15 minutes later, I was being a helped by a nice girl who tried to shade match me. I walked over to the station where they have makeovers so that I look in the mirror. As I sit down, the girl matching me gets told via her microphone that I cannot sit there as the spot is reserved for makeovers. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? My fiance sits there any time he waits and hasn't been told once to get up. Children always destroy the counter tops and no one tells them anything. Some girl was trying on several shades of lipstick and a Sephora employee was assisting her; without an appointment. There were absolutely no makeovers being done on Monday, 4:30 pm, and I was the only one in the area who wanted to buy makeup that matches my skin! But unfortunately, I didn't pay $50 for that spot and was told to get up. Thank you Sephora. It's so unfortunate that Makeup Forever closed in the mall. I cringe anytime I make my way into Sephora. I try to order online as much as possible. read more
