We love Urban Dog House! My boyfriend and I recently got a mini aussie puppy. She is 5 months old and just recently graduated from their level 1 obedience course. We live right across the street and have gone to them many times, including the use of their dog washing station, and many of the pack walks they offer on Saturdays. Dexter is so nice and remembers everyones dogs and their names. He is super knowledgeable and very passionate about what he does, and they have already helped us so much in our training. They also offer dog boarding (that we have yet to try) but we will 100% be using them if we go out of town. Being able to leave our puppy at a familiar place with familiar faces is such a relief! Millie loves UDH and we will keep coming back!

This review is long overdue -- I boarded my two dogs Max and Cardi back in June for a little over one week. I had never boarded them at a facility prior to this and only used Rover once. My male lab is dog-reactive when on a lead, and my female terrier is very feisty when her big brother is around. This always makes me nervous when I go on vacations leaving them in the care of others, even close family members. Urban Dog House (UDH) minimized my worries right off the bat by explaining their protocols for pups who don't get along with other animals, allowing me to visit their facility before boarding, and sending report cards throughout the week. Per my request, they even allowed Max & Cardi to board together in the same kennel, as I had some concerns that having them separated would cause more stress. Their kennels are big and spacious, so I knew my dogs would be comfortable. Additionally, UDH also has a fridge/freezer, so they were able to accommodate Max & Cardi's dry kibble/raw diet meals. The UDH team, especially Steven, was always responsive and friendly whenever I reached out for updates, so I truly appreciated that. For our first extended stay, I received a discounted nightly rate for my second dog, and upon pick-up, UDH was gracious enough to give both of them complimentary baths. I attached a photo here of how they looked when we finally got home. They looked happy, well-fed, and were free of any scratches/marks. I am boarding with UDH again later this week and am confident that my dogs will be in good care!

Amazing !! Love them I feel my dog is safe, cared for, and loved too. Enzo attended 4wk training while we were traveling. It was a perfect situation for all of us. The follow-up of parent training was great and needed as well. Their continued support is above and beyond Urban was recommended to us by our amazing Groomer Petra in Willow Glen. Ellie's Snip & Clip. She and her team are awesome too. They have seen a lot of the dogs before and after their training with Urban Dog House. Still visiting them for boarding and parent training follow-up. 10-10 !!

The place is heaven for my puppy Ahsoka! We took swimming lessons and now she loves it and goes every week. Their open classes for Agility is a great way to bond and exercise with your dog. They also have great activities on the weekends like pool parties and pack walks all over the South Bay.

All tuckered out after her pack-walk.

Can not recommend highly enough!!! We kennel our dog (Loki) with UDH at least once a month for a few days at a time (sometimes longer) and I never have to worry about her because I know that she is 100% loved and cared for!!! The owner and staff are absolutely amazing!!! Not all kennels have staff onsite 24 hours but UDH does, that's very important and something you might not think to ask. I know that our little girl is in the best care because all I have to do is say "Cooperhaus" (now known as "Urban Dog House") and she completely loses it!!! She gets SO excited. UDH's training is second to none and they train all breeds, sizes, and all ages BUT they really reinforce that the humans are the ones who really need to be trained. Dogs just want to please us and are incredibly smart, we're the ones that need to be trained. We went on a pack-walk today in downtown Willow Glen and it was great! We can literally take our dog absolutely anywhere and know that she can handle a vast array of stimulation (other dogs, kids, people, loud sounds, busy streets, other animals, etc) with little to no reaction, stress, or anxiety. We've been taking our dog here for 8+ years... they are NOT just pet sitters, they are SOOO much more!!!

We recently got three Tibetan mastiff puppy mixes (mocha, nila and cookie) out of the blue back in December 2023 and now are about 8 months old. They've been going to classes once a week about 4 months now and Steve (lead trainer) has been a great help with tips and tricks on how the pups can get along with each other (as they are littermates) and how train the pups at home! Today was their first day at day care we've received report cards, which include pictures, videos, and detailed updates on each of our pups progress. We feel worried free leaving our beloved pups here! Looking forward to taking them back and to help them grow to become a confident and a well-mannered companion!

Can't say enough good things about Urban Dog House. I have brought both of my dogs here for obedience training and the methods used are very helpful, safe and effective. They have helped us so much with both our dogs and I really see a difference in our pups when we reinforce the training methods used by UDH. Aside from training we have done boarding and just today swimming. Both were awesome experiences and the staff always makes sure the dogs are enjoying themselves in a safe way. Both of my dogs absolutely love Dexter and enjoy seeing him (we do too) but I'd also like to point out that Steve is also great, organized to work with and we did a puppy class with Juan who was awesome as well and really gave us helpful tips for our nervous GSD. UDH has so many great options for training such as pack walks, swimming, agility and regular training and I realize how important each activity is in building a bond and confidence with your dog.

Updated review: we have been bringing our German Shepard Vader here since he was a puppy, and we absolutely love it! We used to be very anti prong collar but we have learned how to safely use them and reinforce good behavior as well. We feel it's much better to know our dog will be safe in public and react to slight discomfort of the prong collar rather than exhibit bad behavior in public and potentially experience a dangerous situation with another dog. All of our lessons have been wi the dexter but all of the staff including Steven and Dexters nieces are amazing!

Short Version: Urban Dog House is great and I'm so glad to be close to a dog training & play facility! Long Version: My husband and I enrolled our little 1.5 year old Cavapoo to Obedience Level 1 at the beginning of May. While she's a good girl, she does have some people/dog reactivity. We didn't know where to start, so we went to the complimentary eval session where Steve recommended we start with the Level 1 Obedience class (Steve is great btw! He remembered her when he saw her a couple of weeks later :)). The classes so far have been great! Of course it's not going to be an "overnight miracle" where she knows all the commands/listens all the time, but this training I think is more for us vs. for her. At the end of class each week we're sent with things to do for the week and it's progressed from: Heel to Sit to Stay to a mix of it all. It's only been 4 classes so far and she's made huge strides already. Is she perfect when there are tons of distractions? No... but I don't expect her to be. BUT she is understanding the commands and we are working our way up to more distractions and different locations all while still being fun for the both of us. I can't wait to continue participating in the classes they have to offer :)

We heard about this place and decided to give it a try. We put our dog through obedience training. Prior to enrolling my dog, he lunges at people and other dogs, to the point where my wife and I don't look forward to taking Milo in walks anymore. Fast forward to today, we are currently 1 week away from finishing our level 1 class (out of 5 sessions) but I can honestly say that I have seen a HUGE improvement on my dog. The training is not for the dog, but they train you to train your dog. I love being in class for two reasons; socialization for my dog and it's affordable. Dexter (owner and trainer) is a very hands on with the people he works with. Special shout out to Steve and Juan as well!! If you're looking to train your dog and ready to do the work, I recommend to give this place a shot!

This is a review for swimming lessons! It was super fun and the dogs enjoyed it. The trainer was very patient and friendly, which made the experience all that much better. They also provided instructions on how to get to the pool entrance which was very helpful. Our dogs had a great time cooling off in the heatwave weather!

I do want to mention that the staff was friendly on each of my accounts. I went in hopeful--the tour was a nice gesture, and I appreciated that they offer cameras for monitoring. Unfortunately, the week I brought my dog in, the cameras were down due to Wi-Fi issues, which I understand can happen. However, my concerns started after the first day. When I picked Maui up, he urgently needed to go poo. After we got home (about a 45-minute drive), he drank almost an entire bowl of water. This made me question whether he was being given enough water or regular opportunities to relieve himself during the day. The same thing happened the second day. When I picked him up, he immediately drank water from a bowl they had outside immediately and had an extremely long pee--lasting over a minute--which again made me feel like he wasn't being let out frequently enough. On top of that, I noticed a very unpleasant smell coming from him in the car. When I checked, there were stains on his chin and belly that smelled far worse than urine. This raised concerns about cleanliness, either in the kennels or play areas (which were not included in the tour). I truly wanted this to be a good, budget-friendly option, but based on my experience, I would rather pay more elsewhere to ensure my dog is properly cared for. Saving money isn't worth compromising my pet's well-being.

Unfortunately, this ended up being one of the most upsetting experiences I've had with a veterinarian. My cat had gotten covered in car oil and likely ingested some of it because she was scared and I couldn't catch her right away. By the time I finally did, she had gone downhill. She had lost weight, was drooling, her tongue was sticking out, and her mouth looked burned and ulcerated. I was scared and brought her in because I needed help fast. When Dr. Saini looked at her, it felt like he wrote her off almost immediately. He looked in her mouth briefly and told me it was a tumor and that she would not have a good quality of life. I asked more than once if it could be an ulcer instead, especially because of the car oil exposure and the burns in her mouth, but he still said it was a tumor. There was very little explanation, very little compassion, and no real sense of urgency. What bothered me the most was that I had to point out that she was clearly having respiratory distress before that was even addressed. Only after I kept asking questions did labs and X-rays come up. By that point, I honestly had no confidence in the care being provided and chose not to move forward with testing there. The next day, I took her to another vet. They diagnosed an oral ulcer, not a tumor, and started treatment right away, including IV fluids and oxygen. That was heartbreaking because I feel like her care was delayed when she needed help the most. I know not every diagnosis is easy, and I don't expect any doctor to be perfect. But I do expect compassion, urgency, and a willingness to actually listen when an animal is clearly suffering. I left feeling like my cat was dismissed instead of helped, and I would not feel comfortable bringing another pet here.

He would get excited or frustrated and grab/bite onto my shoes or clothes daily. Walking him also became a two-person job, with someone always on the lookout for other dogs so we could turn the other way. He also began to resource guard and snapped at my dad twice.. I had already spent thousands on another trainer and didn't have much success. I began to feel like this was just what life with Luka would be like forever. It got to the point where I felt scared of him, and the life I was giving him out of that fear wasn't fair to him. So I decided to try and get help one last time. I found Lori's page and after reading the reviews I became hopeful again. I took Luka in for an evaluation, and Lori recommended their board-and-train program. I can't thank Chelsea and Lori enough for everything they've done. I've learned so much about Luka, how to manage different situations, and how to better understand his behavior. We had training lessons throughout his board-and-train stay and afterward, because we are the ones who need most of the training! Chelsea did an amazing job with Luka.
